Took computer in yesterday to replace the processor fan. Worst experience I've ever had at a Canada computers store. what is meant by a non-technician who told me it was unlikely that the fan could be replaced because it was a prebuilt system. When I inquired about upgrading the system was told that the motherboard was unlikely to fit, it would need a new processor, New memory and if my current processor didn't fit then it would negate buying a new fan. Bought an external DVD player. They told me I had 15 days from the purchase date to get a full refund or exchange. The DVD drive didn't work. I took it back and they said they need to test it to make sure it's defective BEFORE issuing me an EXCHANGE. I even asked for the SAME item, just one that works. They then said that they have to test it and that I need to come back in 3 DAYS after they call me. This company is horrible. The staff are rude and they don't want to help you. In fact 2 other guys were in line with me, and they said that they've been back and forth with the company for 2 months trying to get their refund on a defective item as well. I have an old laptop that was running slow and wanted to bring it up to speed. Last week one worker says installing a new hard drive will fix it. He's the expert!! Today i go in and speak to a worker. Told him i need a hard drive that i can clone in order to speed up my old laptop. Worker says yess this is what you need. Told him i have the IDE/SATA adapter kit to move everything over. Kid says perfect and hands me a new hard drive. He's the expert!! Get home and install everything and then i'm asked for a password. Enter all known passwords. Can't open up the hard drive. Back to the store. Tech says might be a bios password. I don't know what a bios password is. Tech says i can help but it will cost you. Asked to return the hard drive, after all he checked it and said it was fine. Nope open package he said. But he can help for a price. Spent $85 for a paper weight. The 1st time i was in i enquired about them building a computer for me. I priced them out at around $4000.00 and wanted some things added. Won't be buying a new computer here if this is their customer service and depth of knowledge by employees. read more

Ok so last time I was in this store I had a brand new GoPro Hero 6. I bought some stuff and got to my car, before I realized I left GoPro inside. I walk back inside maybe 60 seconds later look around can't find it asked each staff member no one had seen it so I open my phone and start watching the feed from my camera it was behind the counter. At least one employee tried to steal it and not a single other employee even checked for it. Worst store ever! read more

Terrible customer service, dishonest manager. I went in, ready to purchase $1200 of computer parts: a CPU, motherboard, and ram. As the sales associate was getting the items for me I asked if I could price-match Mike's Computer Shop (online), for a total difference of $60 on the purchase. The associate went to ask the manager and came back telling me that the manager had checked and found that Mike's Computer Shop was out of stock on the items I wanted. I knew this wasn't the case so I asked if I could double check on my phone for myself. I looked, and sure enough Mike's had plenty of stock on the items I wanted. I went and talked to the manager directly, and he became quite defensive and told me that the store only does price-matches with local businesses. I asked him why the Canada Computers website says that the company price-matches both online and brick & mortar stores so long as they have stock. He claimed that was only the case if I were to purchase online through their website (which of course, is not the case). So, either this manager didn't understand the company price match policy or he was so committed to saving $60 that he was willing to lie to a customer and then stick to his guns with more lies when called out on it. Either way, I took my $1200 and walked out. They saved a $60 price-match, but they've lost thousands of dollars of my future business. read more

i got a computer rebuilt at the barrie store and its been bsod ever since i took it back to them to troubleshoot it and they give it back to me say that its fine and 3 hours later im bosd over and over again so i call the store and they said they would have to do another trouble shoot bullcrap dont go to Canada computer save your money read more

The Tech team at Barrie computers was amazing!! We had bought some Refurbished tablets that required a certain program and we could not get them to work. Canada Computers (Barrie) spent a large part of the day helping us!! They were friendly, patient and simply amazing! In the end we had to return the tablets and they help us find a laptop that would run the program. I highly recommend! read more

So disappointed! After many years of purchasing items from this store, spending thousands of dollars I swear I will NEVER step a foot in the Barrie location ever again. The inconsistencies with their return policy from one staff member to the next is insulting. The restocking fee tells me that the company either is struggling or that gouging money from their customers is profitable. We have been charged several hundred dollars over the years with returns. Recently my son was charged any EXTRA 10% because he was missing a cardboard insert, so in total 20%. Really? When I phone to speak with the manager to ask him why my son was charged the extra fee he makes it seem like he did him a favour and tells me that he made a decision as a manager to take it back and put money back on his card. He stated that this is not policy and that it typically would be store credit or exchange only. He also told me that on the receipt it tells you that motherboards are exchange or store credit only. News flash Mr. Manger... it doesn't! Maybe you should read your receipts. Suggestion to any parents that are allowing their children to buy parts from this store... be present as they will take advantage of their age. So disappointed! read more
