This is a good family barbershop, this place has been here for a long time and the barbers are cool and know how to cut. Horrible shop. That is why it is always lonely. The owner Enrique is not a reliable barber and unprofessional. He flaked on me twice and never reached out to excuse himself for not being in for an appointment that I made with him. I use to send him customers and that is the thanks I get. That's not right. That is why no one comes. read more

This was my first time going to this barber shop. I wanted a haircut for my son, I was there more than an hour. I didn't get greeted or acknowledged until 30 min later. I saw a barber finish , he left . Saw another finish with his client , he left to the back. So the other barber that had finished and finally my son sat on his chair. I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted, long story short cut basically all of my son's front curls . I had asked to just trimmed them, my son kept moving . I'm sure that was annoying to him but he's only 3. He was done I said you cut all of his curls ! He said it's wet that's why they look like that . Charged me $35, I handed him $40 and he said thank you. I wasn't going to tip because I didn't like the cut. I was embarrassed to ask for the changed , I left very upset !! Will never go back , I don't recommend this place . read more

This place has been downgraded in my eyes. This whole scheduling thing is ridiculous. You sit and wait in line and realize that 4 of the 5 barbers have appointment clients so you sit in limbo waiting for the one barber not doing appointments to finish. The wait time is ridiculous and the owner needs to set up a system where half the shop sees appointments and the other half sees walkins. Oh and Javier doesn't work here anymore. The best barber left. read more

I've been bringing my son to this barber shop for many years. While we've tried other barber shops, we keep coming back to Campos Barber Shop. The shop is located in a busy little strip mall with several independently owned businesses. There is always parking despite how busy the strip mall can get. The guys at Campos Barber Shop hold true to their trade. The shop itself has undergone a few changes in the last few years. For example, before the there used to be a private room where one of the main barbers would cut hair. The wall was taken down and now there's more room in the shop. The shop has tons of odds and ends, even a big Downey Rd. sign ! The guys have their personal effects in their areas that show a little of who they each are. I've called ahead to make an appointment , but most of the time we walk in. I'm always aware that certain days and times can be busier than others. It's taken up to 2 hours to get my sons hair cut! It's obviously worth it if we keep returning. Haircuts are $15, I always tip generously because these barbers take pride in their work and always leave my son looking great! My son has never gotten a bad hair cut here, this is a great barber shop and I'll continue to bring my business here. read more

Used to come in regularly before covid & tipped well. Called Thursday & was told to come in before 6:30 because they close @ 7. Got there @ 6:15 after work to an empty shop & was told they were closed. Came in next day at 5:45 while the barber was doing a cut & again was told they were closed. Came in Monday to the barber cutting hair and he told me there was a two hour 4 person wait; he finished the guys cut & drove off to lunch. read more

So I stopped by Campos Barber shop because I had heard it was a local spot that had good cuts. I decided I'd stop by on Sunday and found the shop fairly empty and welcoming to a short wait before a fresh new cut. Jimmy was the barber that hooked me up and lined me up with my new look. I got exactly what I was looking for and Jimmy shaped my haircut into a clean-shaven undercut with my natural hair on top. I'd say I was content and satisfied for being a walk-in on a Sunday to a shop I normally don't go to. Thanks Jimmy & Campos Barber Shop for my Fresh New Look. read more

The best of the best!!! we have been bringing my son here since day one and my husband has been coming here for 15 plus years. They are great with kids, pretty cool barber shop and the staff is very friendly. I do recommend that you call ahead as they are ALWAYS busy, that should tell you something. There prices are very competitive. I recommend everyone to give them a try I'm sure you will love them. read more

This is long over due .. I few years ago , my house barbershop was located in Buena Park by Knott's , I didn't want to continue driving there since My family and I transitioned to Norwalk . So I did some research for local barbershops around here , to find Pops Cafe which is really really good , in addition to finding a barbershop a foot away... CAMPOS BARBERSHOP, I took a gamble to try them out.. My first visit I cut was done by a guy who looked like a greaser .. Slick back hair , and a semi long beard, he was really confident in himself, But also very good with people. I gave him instructions on how I wanted my cut , and specifically asked about keeping my hairline tight due to early reseeding. Anyway , as we got closer to the end of my cut he started with my hair line and introduced to me a black spray ( Filler) , which I had no awareness of !! I didn't want to use it but my wife thought it was a nice gesture, so I tried it .. though many people would like this; I did not, My cuts usually go through weeks almost a month before getting a cut again . This time around the guy I originally went to wasn't there anymore , So here I go again getting anxious about who to go this time around . Im going to end this review on stating that I am now a regular here and will continue.. Now everyone has there own preference and I too tried other barbers here due to David being booked up, but ultimately I rather David he's really good with my son and patient , and makes me look like Kobe, Not !! He gives good suggestions, very easy to talk to and those of you who are Green Bay fans he's the man :) Tuesdays and Saturdays read more

Worst hair cut ever! I cut it with some guy with glasses. The one closest to the end. Do not go with him! He is all in to the tv and he's on his phone a lot. Does not deserve not even 1 star. read more

Campos Barber Shop - 1-2 hours after my hair appointment. - Barbers Near Me - Downey, California

If I could I would give this place zero stars. My bf decided to give this place a try so I went with him when we walk in the big guy with all the tattoos and wears glasses helped him this guy had no personality didn't even greet us, its like what the other customers are saying they only greet there friends not NEW customers my bf explained what type of hair cut he would like and idk wtf that guy did but he certainly F#%k up his hair, it was so bad if you know the Barbers you will get 100% customer service but if your a random walk in except the cold shoulder. After the way they left his hair I don't recommend to no one read more

Wish I could give them zero stars. We needed a barber shop asap because my bf starts his new job tomorrow. We searched online and this was one of the few opened on sunday. We walked in and the fat bald guy asked us how many and we responded 1. He said two were in front of us. We sat down and I left to get cash out. Took around 10 mins, came back and he was still with the same kid and the other two at the far back were too. We waited and he finally finished. The guy sitting next to me was next...& what does the barber do? He walks to the back and then sits and talks to the other guys cutting hair. Wtf are we just suppose to wait for you to take a break. After 30 mins we decided to leave. This place is a piece of crap. They cant even cut hair right and place looks dirty and disorganized. Saw the Packers fan barber driving home and was so ready to talk shit to him but I dont need to drop to his level. All these people that leave good reviews is because they tell them to. This place fucking sucks...save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Save time & money go else where! I rarely give bad reviews..but this is an exception..if your are a female this place is not customer service oriented to the opposite sex.. The exact same scenario occurred to us..as the previous review from client Briana P..sadly I read her review a little too late..and we wasted our time at this place.. We needed a barber shop asap..searched online.. walked in...was told two people were in front of us...we sat down and patiently waited for one hour and a half.. The barbers present gossiped with clients about bs..it was more gossip than hair cutting..and they say women gossip..I beg to differ.. We patiently waited..but come on 1.5 hours wait..and they still weren't done with the 2 clients before us..ridiculous..so we left..never ever going here again.. read more

I've been bringing my son to Campos for a little over a year. I'm very picky when it comes to my sons hair and searched many local barbershops before finding this place. David is the best barber! We are never disappointed. My son always gets complimented on his haircut and I'm always getting stopped by random people asking where I take him to get his haircut.. I don't allow anyone but David to cut his hair but the rest of the barbers do a good job as well. It's a busy barbershop so I recommend you bring a good book to read while you wait:) or go to the nail shop for a mani pedi.. Great place great service great haircuts... Go see David! read more

My husband and kiddos have been going to Campos's a lil over a year now. My husband usually takes the boys for their cuts (we have two sons) and they do so well. Our eldest son has autism, and their staff have all been so patient with him. Read the reviews and was kinda sad at what others said. I have taken the boys on my own--and yes the men don't want to build rapport - as they shouldn't! They focus on the cuts! They have all been professional and kind. We will continue to support our local barbershop. read more

Tony. 10/5. He has been my barber since around 2013 when I got back to the area. I am certain all the other barbers that work here are equally impressive in both skills and customer service. But Tony is the man! I am a bit biased since he was the first barber that cut my hair when I visited this place. Something about men and their barbers. I used to come home once a month or so. (I used to work/live on Camp Pendleton). I would drive home, partly to get the haircut from Tony. If you have a customer driving 75 miles one-way to get his hair cut by the same person; I have to ask all who reads this review: what does that tell you about this establishment and Tony? Oh and note that on-base regulation hair cuts were a lot cheaper on both service and gas tank. read more

Tony is a real unprofessional barber he things he is the best and give you attitude like if he was the only barber Bud if it wasn't for the customer you wouldn't have work to feed your family first class jerk Grow up your not a teen your an old barber with little skills. Dress your age buddy read more

The guys here have poor customer service. The only people that get good customer service are their friends and pre-existing customers. All the reviews that say this are true. The reviews that have higher stars are NOT new customers. My experience is based on a failed attempt to get a haircut by these guys. My first impression walking in was that they just like to screw around, have a good time, and blast music. That's all good except the screw around part. I sat for over 30 mins. waiting for a haircut and they were not even able to finish the people that were already getting worked on before I took a seat. They like to joke, f-around, and take things slowly (which acknowledges that they do not want to cut another customer's hair). The cuts they were doing were very simple / basic barber shop cuts too like mini fades, and trims. So I got up to leave and told them (one barber specifically) that I will be back probably in the morning....he gave me a loooong stare (mini-mad dogg) and did not respond. I announced it loud enough for other barbers to hear too but they could care less. Luckily I went down the street to a shop that valued me as a customer. Here's a sum up. 1. They don't greet you when walking in (almost like they hate to see another customer come through their door). 2. They don't acknowledge your presence even after sitting for 30 mins. 3. They think barber time is play time, at your expense. 4. They don't care if you leave or even ask if you're coming back. 5. Not a place you would want to go unless you're their buddy's (homies) from way back. read more

I went here for several years. At first , I was willing to tolerate the lack of professionalism because they did a solid job at cutting. However, constantly put their friends at the front of the line, talking on the phone while cutting, talking to each other and wasting customers time , etc ... Made it so that the $20 was a rip off. Combine that with the decline in good barbers and it's a no brainer to not come back read more

I was in the area and needed a quick cut. I noticed they were open so i walked in and waited close to 2 hours to be helped! You get the notion that they are not new customer friendly, and will help their friends before you. Not only did it frustrate me but the hair cut was not even that great! I don't know what some of these other Yelpers see in this barbershop but trust me, there are definitely other spots with better customer service and better barbers. Do not waste your time, skip this place! read more

The best in town. . . . . seriously! I've been going for over 6 years and have never had a bad experience. David, Chris, Omar, Jesse (Fat Sweaty), and anyone else that cut hair at this barbershop are always enjoyable. Although Tony thinks he's the best of all time!!! The overweight guy in the first chair with all the cowboys memorabilia messed up my haircut cause he was not paying attention to my instructions. Don't get a cut with Anthony. I always give this dude a chance but I'm over it. He'd rather watch the tv screen and has zero energy or interest in your hair.
