They are so welcoming! We have been going for over 5 years and my son and husband love it. Eric is amazing and patient with kids. The cool thing is they now have a claw machine and pinball game machine. Family business . Appointments are a must they are always busy. read more

This establishment is right next to Boba loca and can be accessed from the CVS parking lot. I foolishly thought I was just gonna drive there with no appointment on a Saturday and be seen, I'm glad I called and was told Delia was available in an hour. You need to book your appointment online and you have the choice to pay online or pay when you get there. Delia was very kind, professional, and I liked her suggestions. I will be back! Cortes de pelo me salió muy bien. Muchas gracias a Delia! Si regreso! read more

My fiance came in for a cut & beard and for the 2nd time Delia did an extraordinary job!!! He had an appointment at 5 but came in about 30 minutes early and was able to get in.. he loves the shop; mentioned the vibe is chill and welcoming! The prices have also stayed very reasonable! We live in Arizona & we make it a point to come in when we are in town! 10 stars for Delia! read more

You know when you go somewhere so good you almost don't wanna leave a review because you want to still be able to go there? That's how I instantly felt about this place! My son is special needs/highly sensitive. I tried to take him to a popular kids hair cut place but it was way too overstimulating for him. The vibe of this place was calm and clean and PERFECT for my son! He was pretty relaxed the entire time and even when he got spooked the barber David was incredibly patient with him. He did such a nice job! He took his time and was able to get it low on the sides with just scissors. Price was totally fair. As a Mom who is often fearful to take my son places because I worry about others reactions to his high energy and sensitiveness, I can't tell you how relieved I was to come here. Thank you so much David! 10/10 and would definitely recommend. read more

Downey Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Downey, California

I was looking for a new barbershop as I am new to the area. I made an appointment at another shop near this one and no one showed up. I walked in and asked if anyone was available. Fortunately, Delia was available and I found my new shop in Downey. The service was outstanding. I am old school and like to talk and Delia made me feel right at home. The place looks modern and sleek but it's an old school barber shop. Just as it should be. read more

I scheduled an appointment with my fiancé with Diena at 4:30PM for the first time at this business. She did an amazing job on his hair after we both told her what he wanted. He wanted a haircut with scissors and to shorten the top of his curly poofy hair and trim the long sides to a shorter length but not buzz it all off so his ears would look big. She went above and beyond with what he wanted and I was so happy to see Alexander finally get a haircut he liked and suited him so much more then the last few disastrous ones he got at other shops! My Fiance Alexander has had a traumatizing past with haircuts at other shops as he's been cut on the ear before or has had barbers completely ignore what he wants and he ends up hiding his hair under a hat for a while...and his last haircut before this first time visit was in December!!!! (just for context) The vibe was very appealing and quiet for a guy to feel masculine and comfortable which is awesome for their clients plus they had a miniature library for kids and other great books on sports, science, and encyclopedias on some subjects...but for me as a S.O. However I felt uncomfortable by the weird looks I got from some of the people as I was trying not to disturb the environment while trying to make sure my fiancé was able to be heard out and that he liked the work that was being made on his hair. Alexander grew up being shut down a lot and when strangers assume or mess up something he initially states that he would like, he won't speak up and he asked me to make sure that whoever takes care of his hair would not cut the sides too short... (apparently it looked like I was talking to myself as my voice wasn't loud enough and the barber told my Fiance that "his sister or mom talks to him like he's a child") He told me this after we left and it clicked with how I was feeling when trying to interact with the barber... I am happy I found a place for my Fiance to get his hair cut but next time I will probably just stay in the car as it was uncomfortable to be thought of as a mother or sister to my soon to be husband! read more

Downey Barber Shop - My fiancé getting his hair cut - Barbers Near Me - Downey, California

The barber (I think Daniel was his name) was rude. He was giving me attitude the whole time and was off-putting with comments he was making. Not worth the money. read more

Eric, the owner is great. My barber, Delia, is magnificent. It is not your cheap place for a hair cut, but very worth it.

Found this Barbershop on Yelp. I like that we can book appointments online, and I have never had to wait when I get there. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the timeliness because I'm always on the go. Great staff, great selection of products. I feel the cost of a regular men's cut is a little pricey for me. But I keep coming back for the quality of cut regardless! read more

Such an amazing experience for our 13 month old. Eric is patient, gentle and kind and made our family feel so comfortable during our toddler's hair cut appointment. The haircut came out amazing, facility is super clean and inviting. Cashier was the sweetest and also so welcoming. Thank you Downey barbershop we will Be back. read more

I went for a last minute haircut to this location in the afternoon about 1 hour from closing time and I was not happy with the results it was so noticeable that my family would point it out at the party I attended that night. I requested a basic medium fade down to a double zero and got a high fade that the sides were not even. the left side was higher than the right side and the fade had spots/ patches of hair through out the fade. Poor workmanship no pride at this location. read more

I went because I needed a quick cut. I had a picture of what I wanted and although the outcome looked nothing like what I showed them the cut wasn't too bad. Much shorter than I wanted but it's hair and it grows back. I also could have been more vocal about what I wanted. Either way it was a good cut just not my kind of look. read more

Eric is an absolute professional, knows how to ask questions/listen & will give you the exact cut you explain you want. This shop's got great industrial-/garage-vibes and will have you looking hella clean with the freshest of fresh cuts, with super chill conversation with the owner Eric to boot! First time here and most certainly won't be my last. Much appreciated my guy. Take care of that ankle & see you again soon! read more

Don't use Daniel. Gave me a bad uneven cut. Had to go somewhere else to fix it. Just an overall terrible experience.

I needed a haircut and just moved to the neighborhood so decided to come to this place because they had last minute availability. They have a website where you can book your appointment which I think is essential. They share parking with other stores but they are next to a huge lot so plenty of parking if you don't find one right in front of the place. The haircuts are kind of expensive $38 is what I paid and that's a lot to me because I cut my own hair. So that's just me. Not a bad haircut but not the best. I was greeted when I got there and it had a friendly welcoming vibe :) read more

asked for a trim, and barber just kept going shorter and shorter, which was fine but not what I asked for. I asked for a low taper, he gave me the highest taper I've ever had in my life, to add to that the left and right sides were completely uneven as the back is barley even tapered. It's fine, I'll live but this is the worst haircut I've ever had in my life! Hats for the next 2 weeks it is :( it would've been fine for a 15-20 cut but at $40+? I expect a bit more skill read more

One Sunday afternoon I decided to give my son a haircut so he could go back to school and go to Downey Barbershop, but they were about to close and Daniel told me that he was willing to help me, which made me appreciate the help he gave me and on top of that the haircut turned out very good. read more

My usual Shop was not available so decided to try this new spot since my son was in major need of a new cut. He did a great job my son loved his cut read more

Both Eric and Frank are great barbers, cannot speak for the rest of the shop. Everyone is friendly and professional, good service and attention to detail. My only complaint is they don't make appointments on time, I would show up on time ans not get in a chair till about 10mins after my appointment time. They sell some good products there, and some merch if you want to support. Usually play sports or movies on the TV, so thats nice. read more

For 50$ you would expect a decent cut and welcoming customer service but nahhh. Not here. The barber would not even point the mirror at me when he was showing me his work and had a shitty attitude the whole time and then he goes and asks me for a tip...the most uncomfortable experience. read more

Man daniel messed me up he should not be a barber, it was so bad they gave me the haircut for free (I didn't even ask for it to be free) I asked for a midish/ high fade and daniel decides that I need a extra high shave. Absolutely no type of fade on one side and the other side is just as bad just with a small bit of fade. Terrible experience and I told him to his face that he is not meant to be a barber. I used to love this place. Not no more obviously their standards lowered. Erick is friendly and professional still. Also daniel said the last guy that cut my hair messed me up, Erick was the last guy to cut my hair so I think this says something about this establishment. No good anymore. read more

Downey Barber Shop - No fade at all - Barbers Near Me - Downey, California

Looked on Yelp to find a barber in a pinch. This place had good reviews and a 4 star rating so I went with it. Really disappointed with the haircuts and the experience. The female barber destroyed my sons hair and Daniel gave me what I think is the worst haircut I've ever got. After he was done he would not use the mirror to show me my haircut. Once I requested the mirror I saw how bad the fade was and I asked him to fix it. Once he "fixed it" he again did not show me with the mirror until I asked and only showed me one side, again I had to tell him to show Me the whole fade. Really bad experience and haircuts, now I got to fly to Spain with a botched haircut. Will not be returning. read more

I like the atmosphere of the shop, and my barber, Delia, did a good job! I definitely recommend checking them out.

This place with all due respect is wack and they are never consistent with haircuts. I have cut my hair with David and daniel and they both always end up giving me a completely different f***% haircut Go take your 50 dollarss somewhere else and save some money too read more

Hair cuts are ok. Nothing special. Price has gone through the roof, but that's everywhere I guess. They always say they are busy or don't have appointments till 3pm but you go and it's empty. I unfortunately took my son to a barbershop in Torrance, instead of Downey Barber Shop(my usual place) Cause I was lazy to drive. They ruined my sons haircut. I wish I would have chose a better Barbershop. One of the worst experience I've ever received with a baber. The baber I had a appointment with had poor customer service. I showed a picture of hair cut for reference. Which I didn't even get the lineup was off and in the front had no clean up. I had high hopes with this place but it was a total let down. God bless this place, god bless Eric for referring us to Angel and god bless Angel for handling my almost two year old son with some crazy patience skills. Now I'm not religious by any means but you better believe I was praying for my son's haircut to go smoothly. He is a crier and a screamer and he did both at Kustom Kutz. Angel, however, was calm and smooth. He kept cutting and talking smoothly to my son, the receptionist came over to try to calm him, too. Even Eric came to give him a toy. Seriously amazing establishment. Will be returning and will be asking for Angel. Fernie's haircut came out badass. This place was awesome. Thank you Angel and Kustom Kutz. You guys are the real MVPs. read more

I came back yesterday in need of a cut and not wanting to drive to my regular spot. I was pretty shocked that Ivan remembered who I was despite only coming here three times. Ivan had a prior appointment and recommended a new kid. The cut was pretty damn good. He took his time and I was pleased with the end result. I gave them an extra star simply because Ivan had a great memory. Still amazed at this dude's memory. read more
