I purchased a 2018 Travel Trailer from this dealer on April 29, 2019. I paid cash so basically you would think hassle free right? They received my check but then the Hell began. As of today, I have no title and no tag. I made many phone calls to Paige which she does not answer the phone nor returns messages. On July 4th at 9am, I spoke to the General Manager Ryan. I was given many excuses. One was "200 inspections were denied and had to be resubmitted". He also assured me that today I would have my tag and title and he would personally call me so I could travel from McKinney to Sherman to physically pick up the items. At 2:26 pm I called him was placed on hold and he never answered the phone and I was forced to leave another message for him. It is 8:10 pm, and no phone call from Ryan. At this point, I believe the only way to get a tag and title is to take legal proceedings. My advice to someone wanting to purchase an RV, avoid this dealer. read more

I saw a specific camper advertise on Facebook. I contacted the person, made an appointment for Saturday to see this camper. I called him today to tell him we could come today to look at it. He wasn't in the office but gave me a name of who to talk too. We got there and they had already sold it. I don't think this is how you should do things. Camping World generally is not a customer service oriented business, but this one in Sherman is simply the poorest customer service in any industry that I have ever received. I waited 6 and 1/2 months for three simply parts. I would not have known my parts have even arrive if I had not done my bi-monthly phone call to them for updates. I was told Katrika (sp) that she would pull the parts and have them ready when I arrive today (60 mile trip). She did not. Then they asked for the old parts. What the hell? Not once in 6 and 1/2 months of waiting was I ever told that they would want those back. NOT ONCE, or I would have brought them. Every communication with them for over 6 months has turn into a Greek tragic comedy. I'm so disgusted that I may just buy new parts from their competition rather than make another trip to them just so I won't have to deal with their incompetence ever again. I ordered a new pin box and made arrangements to have it installed. Was told I would receive an email receipt - never happened, and that I could wait on the install, as it would only take about an hour. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was told to drop my fifth wheel on the street, as the lot (gravel and full of mud and potholes) was full, and the forklift driver would be right out to get it. Was told then that it would be "about two hours." Rather than wait inside, where MANY employees and some customers were without masks and not social distancing, I left. When I came back over two hours later, my trailer had not been moved. I happened to ask the forklift driver if he knew anything about it - fortunately, he went inside to check the status,, and about 20 minutes later, came and got it. An hour later (3-1/2 hours into my "one-hour" appointment, the service rep said, "Your trailer's done, you can go get it." When I asked for a receipt, that process took another ten minutes, as his first response was "we probably sent you an email when you made the appointment." Had to go outside and locate my trailer, as it was parked on a side street nearly a block away. Having been to other Camping World locations, I was shocked at how disorganized and unprofessional this location appeared, especially the disregard for the COVID-19 protocols. In 38 years I have never come across someone in any business as unprofessional and disrespectful as Bryson Gray, the finance manager of Camping World Sherman. On Thursday, January 29 my wife and I drove an hour to Sherman to view travel trailers as we were planning to purchase our first one. JR Rose helped us find the perfect fit for our family. Usually salespeople are pushy but JR was nice and understanding when we said we wouldn't be able to sign that day because we had to get our children from school. We agreed that I would take off work early on Sunday to come back to Sherman and sign so that they could record the sale for their month end. I told him we would have limited time on Sunday and we'd have to just sign and come back the next weekend to pick it up and do the walk through which he said should be fine but he'd double check. The next day Bryson called me to discuss the financing options and we settled on one. I told him we'd come in Sunday around midday and sign. On Sunday, my wife got our kids in the car and I left work to make the hour drive back up to Sherman to sign the paperwork. The kids were excited, we were excited and everything was going great. When we got there they said we needed to do the walk-through to which we explained our daughter had a basketball game and we couldn't stay that long. They again said "no problem" but wanted to at least introduce us to the service manager and let us see the camper while they were prepping the paperwork. Before we got to the back of the store they called us back up front and told us "we can't record a sale without a walk through so we can just do a quick 10 minute overview of the camper" to which my wife replied "it's our first camper and we'd like a full walkthrough next weekend like we've mentioned 3 separate times." This is where the worst customer service experience I've ever had came in. Bryson starts raising his voice at my wife to which I said "hold on here" in a firm voice. He then sticks his finger in my face and starts screaming that he "told me we had to do a full walkthrough!" (To be clear, we emphasized THREE different times we couldn't pick the camper up until the next weekend due to limited time because we wanted to make sure we could leave the camper on their lot for that week and at NO point did Bryson and I even talk about taking delivery of the camper, we spoke only about financing.) I told Bryson he never said anything about that and asked him not to be an ass about it to which he gets in my face and tells me to "get the hell out of his store". His behavior blew my mind so later that day I called a buddy that owns a car dealership to get his opinion on what happened. After emphasizing that he'd fire his Finance Manager on the spot if he ever did that, he explained that many bonuses are driven by them selling warranties and service plans. His only guess was that since we could only sign and return the next weekend that Bryson wouldn't hit some target bonus and he lost it on us. Whatever his reason, we'll be filing an official complaint with their corporate headquarters tomorrow and warning as many people as we can to stay away from any and all Camping World dealerships. The only reason we went out of our way to take off work, make a two hour round trip, and buy a camper we couldn't even take home was to help them make their end of month numbers. It blows my mind that this guy behaves this way but if that's how they treat you BEFORE you buy a camper, thank God we didn't complete the purchase. Dwayne and Marshall did a great job working on the trailer and we really appreciate their effort to get us sorted and back out on the road. The guys at RV-Max were awesome. We worked with Kelly Grubs and The manager Roby White. Both worked very quickly to find the travel-trailer I wanted for my Fiancé. I walked in knowing what I wanted and I feel like they got me the best deal without any haggling. I missed his name, but the service man who got the trailer set up and winterized was super helpful with our just about a million questions (this is our first time buying a travel trailer). The guys at the service desk were also helpful in helping us pick out a few accessories without throwing a lot of different products at us in order to make a sale. We left on the day we picked up the travel trailer feeling like they'd done what they could for us. I was hoping to spend a little less, but we got a brand new 2015 Wildwood trailer for a decent price. I'd definitely recommend them to a first time trailer/RV buyer. read more

Ok. Where do I begin. I will attempt to keep it as short as possible. We purchased an RV from Camping World Sherman in September 2018. We noticed a leak in June 2019 and returned the unit for Service on July 2. After approximately three weeks and no updates I contacted the dealer on July 25 for an update. No one could provide an update, and asked if they could return my call. I did not receive a return call. I called the next day and spoke to a Service Advisor who stated that he was the Service Manager. He indicated that they were looking for the paperwork. I immediately asked to speak to the General Manager or someone that could assist. He again stated that someone would return my call. Once again waited until the next day and no one returned my call. I called and demanded that I speak to a Manager. I finally spoke to the actual Service Manager. He indicated that the Service Advisor that was working on my RV was no longer with Camping World, and lost all of the paper work. He could not give me an update until they located the paper work. Once again, he stated that he would return my call. I waited until the next day again, and no return call. At that point, I called the corporate office. The corporate office opened a case. In summary, the General Manager contacted me and stated that they would address the issue. Once again, waited another day, and no follow up. I called the corporate office again. The General Manager contacted me that day, and stated that they working would provide with a timeline to repair the unit. He contacted me the next day and stated that I needed to contact Thor because it was a warranty issue. I contacted Thor and they indicated that the issue was due to Camping World not agreeing to their terms. I immediately contacted the Corporate office again. The General Manager called me that day and stated that they would take care of the repairs. Well it is now September 6, and we are going to pick up the RV today. I hope it is finally repaired. Finally, I also echo the sentiments from another review. It has been one year, and we still do not have a License Plate. Once again, the person that was working in that department is no longer with Camping World due to performance issues. I can't imagine that anyone would purchase an RV from Camping World in Sherman. No communication, no follow up, horrible service and just are not truthful. read more

Sherman Texas Camping World was the worse experience ever buying a new camper!!! Been almost 2 months and still have no tags or even copies of the paperwork I sign on the day I spent over 4 hours signing all that crap!! Been asking for copies and was assured by Arron the Sales Manager I would get them, guess his and Camping Worlds word is crap! I did not even know when my payment was due until 4 days before it was due! Who in the hell does business like this?? The only form I got showed I financed $15,800.00. Once I finally did get payment details it shows I owe over $16,500.00??? Did not even get the sewer hose for this new camper! Like buying a new car and have to buy the tires separate to be able to operate the damn thing! Very disappointed and would tell all to beware of the sales team at the Sherman Location, they just want there commission and do not give a rats @$$ about it's customers! Had to ask them at least 6 times for a spare tire, had to wait 2 hours for them to clean and prep when they knew the day before we were coming to buy it. Contacted corporate and they tell me I will have to deal with the dealership. I have been trying to do that for several weeks with no luck!! I guess they sell you something and the forget about you. Absolutely horrible experience! Everything seemed fine when making the purchase earlier this year. There was a dent in the bumper which they said they would get fixed under warranty so we took their word for it. Let me just say these guys are good at ignoring and lying. They requested pictures of the dent which they got that day and weeks later if you actually do get a hold of them they denied that they ever receive them. On top of that trying to cancel the warranty??? HAHA!!! They say they will do it then they don't respond when they don't do it. I've read other reviews and apparently we are not the only ones going through something like this with them. I will never purchase another item out of that location again! read more

I didn't buy my camper from Camping World but my A/C needed fixed. The dealership that I bought from didn't have a service center so I called up Camping World in Sherman and made an appointment. When I showed up the place is kind of a mess right now due to expansion but in order for them to grow you use what space you can until its finished. Parking on the street isn't a big deal. There is very little traffic. Anyway, I showed up and checked in and in no time they had my camper backed into their work area. They got my A/C up and going. I was in and out in a couple of hours. Buyer beware of this dealership. They have what you need, but the real crime of after the sale when you need help and assistance. I was missing my wireless control system from my Jayco eagle and called my sales person Marco and he referred me to service because he was t knowledgeable about what the RV was suppose to have (1st bad sign). After speaking with Service they referred me back to Marco. Let's just say Marco never got back with me and I ended up talking to his floor manager James who couldn't help me either. I ask his boss why Marco never contacted me back and he said he didn't know he told him. Let's just say no accountability to the customer at all. After the sale don't expect much assistance from this camping world. Buyer beware, them about the relationship you need to have after the sale and go someplace else. There plenty of RV DEALERSHIP, I wouldn't recommend this one for Jayco because they don't know much about the product they sale, but worst of all they really don't care about there customers and don't see us as a priority after the sale. read more

Our sales man told us our unit was a four season unit. It is not. We were told repairs would take 2-4 weeks. That's a laugh now. They have had our a total of 173 days since we bought it brand new. We have had a horrible experience with this RV dealership. We purchased our 2018 Jayco trailer in February. We have had issues with this dealership since we signed the papers. To begin, our sales representative was very dishonest and told us what we wanted to hear to get us to purchase. He over promised and under delivered. After purchasing the trailer, we took it out to enjoy the outdoors. However, we learned real quick that the water heater was defective. Upon return, we returned the trailer to have it serviced. We have been waiting 4 weeks and just learned it will be another 2 weeks before the part is delivered to the dealership! This is craziness! There is definitely no sense of urgency when it comes to customer service. Needless to say, we have made 2 payments and haven't been able to enjoy our trailer in working condition since we purchased it. My advice...STAY AWAY! read more

I was passing thru Sherman and had a bad blow out and tore up my rim. I pulled over to the street beside Camping World and changed my rim and tire. Somehow I did it wrong and my pickup truck would not move. They saw me and two employees saw that I having trouble and they came to help me and brought a large jack and the employee named Calvin took my wheel off and corrected the problem for me and I was able to get on my way. Both were very friendly especially the guy named Calvin. Just wanted to thank them both they were great. read more

In short, I do not recommend this Camping World location to sell your RV. I brought my RV in at the end of March 2021 on a consignment sale. Before we even got to the lot, I received a call from a sales person asking why I didn't want to sell it to them outright. I asked them to give me details and promptly received a very low ball offer to where I'd have to pay them to take it off my hands. I declined the offer and stuck with a consignment sale. Fast forward to the end of April, I never received any updates on sale and called many times to get an update. Absolutely horrible customer service, as I never received a call back. I emailed the sales manager and the general manager. Still no reply from the sales manager, but got an email from the general manager stating they had an offer on the RV and would hear back on the status of the sale. I waited a few weeks and began calling them again because I hadn't heard anything further. I again never got anyone on the end of the phone who knew what the status was or where my RV was. I finally used Linked In and found a higher up executive and emailed him. He promptly responded and got in touch with the regional manager. Long story short. The RV was sold and paid off, but we were never told the sale price or when it was sold. This caused us to make insurance and loan payments towards the RV due to their lack of business courtesy. I will never step foot in another Camping World and would highly recommend anyone looking to sell their RV to look at another route. read more

Sorry Service. We have been waiting over 4 months for a new shower door and they have told us they cant get it because the trailer is 3 years old. I took the contact info and call wildwood myself and the cant order the part. So I called Forest river and they are telling me they have the part that can be order thru them not wildwood. Plus we had some other work that needed done. Shower Sprayer was broke and so was the light cable on the trailer. When we got there they said all was fixed but the shower door. Oh course we looked and nothing was done. they fixed the light cable for 147.00 and when we looked at the shower sprayer they said they had none in stock and we will have to buy one. Plus 10 months before when we were having work done on the trailer they had it for 5 months and 7 trailers gotten broken in to. Ours was one of them cost 500.00 to replace everything stolen. Horrible customer service. I have never left a review like this on any compant. I know things happen and sometimes delays occur. But lying to customers is BS. We called about getting a water leak repaired on April 19th. They told us they were booked till May 4th but we could bring it then and they could get it fixed. We took it to them on the 4th and were told it should be done by the end of the next week. After hearing nothing from them, I stopped by the shop on May 16th to see what the problem was. Rich at the front desk said our trailer was at the top of the list, but his tech was on lunch break. This was at 3:00 pm. He said he would call us back that after noon when he talked to his tech. Never heard from him. Called to check on the camper again on Friday, May 20th and left a message but again, no returned call. This morning my wife got them on the phone and was told they are very busy and have not gotten to the trailer and not sure when they would get to it. Goiing to pick it up today. We have bought 2 campers from this location, but will not be doing business with them again. Stay away from them! read more

After almost a month of waiting for an estimate they called to say they couldn't really help us and the technician that looked at our camper fridge was "new and not experienced" therefore he never ran a diagnostic which was required for the claim for repair under warranty. Joe was our salesmen and Bryson the finance agent. I bought my RV in December of 2020 and looking to buy a second RV I allowed them to sell me a lot of extra junk that was not worth it! No need to believe me, price the "camping package" and the tow hitch. Let them sell you the extended coverage and see how worthless it truly is. All of these are grossly marked up! Furthermore, ALWAYS price your RV somewhere else. You will see, as I did, that Sherman and Camping World (in general) only cares about the margin rather than customer service or the customer. Don't believe me, give them a call after you make the mistake, see how long it takes for them to reply. Experience the frustration it has been to have your RV serviced and later trying to cancel the warranty. Go by their place and see why they are building an add on, it's because they rip the customer off with "add on's" while also over pricing their RV's. They also save on not serving your RV. read more

Not a good experience. Bought a new fifth wheel at camping world in Oklahoma City. They sold me wrong hitch for my truck but made that right. Took camper in for repair in okc a few months later. After waiting 8 weeks and taking two days off work to haul it up there and back it wasn't fixed. Then this January i take camper to camping world in sherman tx to get repaired before warranty expires. Advisor says they will be three weeks getting to it and probably one more week fixing it. Well we are now in week 10. I get responses like 'waiting for repair approval' and 'waiting on parts'. Well, I'm making payments on a camper sitting at dealership. Better response from manufacturer and dealer would make a huge difference. Update: after posting this review i got an email from Camping world and a call from service manager. I finally got camper back only to find my hitch was bent from an idiot forklift operator. Service advisor told me they would replace the part. One month later i still haven't received part or a call saying when it will arrive. Also a vent pipe on roof that was on my original work order was not replaced. It is even listed on the work report but i got on roof and there is no cap and no evidence that one was ever glued on. It is apparent that ineptitude and apathy are a mainstay of Camping World's corporate culture. read more

I bought a camper at camping world in Sherman and they failed to disclose damages and missing items at time of sale I brought camper back and asked for money back very next day. They also refused to provide me with all sales documentation and gave me a used mattress, looked like blood was on it. Took them 4 months to get replacement to me. It's been in their shop for a combined total of approximately 6 months since purchase date. I've now had 5 service reps say parts were ordered. I've contacted their complaint hot line to only be lied to numerous times. They have not fixed anything on my camper and it's not even able to be used. Camping world has the absolute worst service. Run from this place they will not repair anything. All they do is say parts were ordered and well over a year later I can't use my camper because they won't fix it. It's been back on their lot since January this time around. Most recently I was told it was ready by the Corp complaint rep and then when I called to ask about picking it up the service advisor said it will take at least another month. Do not spend your money at camping world in Sherman Texas. You won't ever get anything repaired and the sales people are not truthful and service is pathetic. Camping world blames much of this on the pandemic, but these problems were all pre pandemic. There's no excuse for the lack of any service!! YIKES! This place is a nightmare. They have had my camper for Three months for minor repairs. Every time I call I get the run around on when its going to be ready for pick up, that is if they answer the phone at all. If I ever need to learn some new excuses Ill come here for material. Being a Good Sam's member means nothing. Out of the 1 year we have owned our brand new camper trailer that we bought from here, its been in the shop 8 months. The one time we get a call, they wanted us to pay $800 for a maintenance repair not under warranty. They didn't send us a picture or provide any information, I guess they were hoping we were dumb enough to just pay. This place is unorganized and most of the employees fail to say please or thank you. Don't buy from here and certainly do not try and get service. Its nonexistent. We blew a tire on our horse trailer at 4:30 on a Friday, and pulled in here to beg for some help. These guys were amazing! Fixed us right up, and got us back on the road in 30 minutes... Didn't even make us take the horses off the trailer. They backed the rig in for us and everything. Very attentive and helpful. They had the tires in stock that we needed, but only replaced the two that were stripped, and didn't try to sell us two for the other side - his honesty was very much appreciated. Malfunctioning slide out. Service department kept RV for over 3 weeks. Flooring was torn during repair and patched poorly. Black tar tracked in the carpet. Slide worked once when returned before failing. Second A/C unit installed in bedroom. On 3rd trip out, started making loud noise and vibrating profusely. Casing bent, screws on one side stripped and unit coming away from ceiling. Still waiting on returning call. If you value service after the sale, buy elsewhere. read more

We liked it, ask about some additional prices for add ons and then were told the next day that the online price was "WHOLESALE" pricing and we wouldn't pay that price. Worst experience ever!!! Two months ago we dropped our 2017 Jayco travel trailer off for electrical work. This is the second time the trailer has had electrical problems. With that being said I was called and told the trailer was ready for pick up, and to call 1 hour before arriving, which I did. Upon arrival we realized that someone had DROPPED our travel trailer! No one in the service department was even going to acknowledge that the entire tong of the trailer was torn up. The wheel was shattered, it's holder was mushroomed out, the jack was broke off, the frame bent, the propane bottle metal mount was broke off, and the propane lines underneath were flat. THEY DROPPED MY TRAVEL TRAILER AND TORE IT UP!!! All they wanted to offer us was a $50.00 in store credit. I am soooo disappointed with this business, and would not recommend Camping World in Sherman Texas to anyone. I feel as though they owe me a new travel trailer, because there is no telling what is wrong on the inside since the outside was in such bad shape. We were there SIX hours on Saturday and left with no camper due to the staff waiting so long to submit the finance application we filled out at 11:30 that the banks were closed.! The internet and printers were down Monday so we returned on Tuesday to sign and pick up the camper. We were there another THREE hours.! This place is HORRIBLE.! Unfortunately Camping World is the only dealer that sells the RV I want! Tragic. Even after reading the reviews, I chose to 'Just Do It'. Tragic and unfortunate. There is no negotiating, there's no incentive for purchasing with cash, there's no helpful staff, credit score - don't matter, down payment - don't matter..it's their way or go somewhere else. It happens when the unit you want is exclusive to them. I'm so disappointed and should have found another dealership to do business with. Wish I could go zero stars.
