I bought a used 2020 Airstream Basecamp 16X. The salesman Josh was awesome. He talked to us and showed it to us. We were looking but it wasn't advertised and we were going there to browse and saw it. I made an impulse offer that I would feel comfortable paying. I guess one of the managers came out and treated us like s**t. I'll leave it at that. I bit my tongue and left pretty much saying screw them. We discussed it and we called Josh on the way home and made a counter offer and they accepted. This was a Saturday near closing. Josh got everything in order for pickup on Weds. Wednesday comes and I slip out of work a bit early and head up. Josh was off. The person showing us the RV asked if I was ready for towing. I said yes. He said do you have braking controls. I said no. My Jeep tows 6000lbs and this is under 3000. "You cant leave without it by law". I lost my effing mind because I was never told this and drove an hour and a half. I said eff this. Lets go. Wife calmed me down. We looked it over. Guy showed me everything functioned. I was told it would be detailed but it was half azzed washed. Ok. Whatever. I asked if they could do a brake control install quickly assuming it was hardwired and it was a hopeless ask. He went to check. Now Ken comes out and explains the new wireless system. $289. Problem solved. Brian finished our financial work and he was awesome. Went well. Ken checks us out and not only helps set it up but had to trouble shoot an issue and stayed a little late to get us going. He explained so much to us I did not know. He was amazing. Appreciate Josh, Brian, Ken, and the yard dude. The manager which I dont remember his name can pound sand. My experience was OK thankfully because of the others. read more

Purchased a 2023 Heartland Mallard M260 in Nov 2023 and immediately had Camping World winterize the trailer, covered it & put it into storage. Took a trip in June 2024 and the roof over the bedroom leaked. We called Robert Nichols, our service rep, and were told that our three year warranty does not cover the roof & that the roof was only warrantied for 90 days. This information was not disclosed to us on purchase & when pressed on the issue he suggested a caulk that we should use to seal the roof & that it would be fine. Per Mr. Nichols, this trailer requires caulking to be reapplied every 90 days to the roof, which again was not disclosed to us when purchased. We followed his advise but in Sept 2024 we noticed the roof was lifting & bubbling. We again called Mr. Nichols and were assured that this is normal with temperature changes & that it would settle itself. In Oct we brought the trailer back to Camping world, had the roof checked & they told us it was fine. They winterized the trailer, it was covered & put into storage for the winter. In May 2025 we took the trailer out of storage for our first trip of the year & noticed that the front of the roof had lifted and was out of shape. We were out of state so we brought it to a local trailer repair shop and we were informed that the manufacture failed to properly place a termination strip at the edge of the roof, which lead to the leakage. We were told that extensive repairs would be required so returned home and brought the trailer back to Camping World. We called the manufacture and were informed that Mr. Nichols had in fact lied to us, that the warranty on the roof was good for one year & so our initial claim was well within that period of time. Despite the fact that we were lied to about the warranty coverage period & our initial claim for leakage was within the warranty period they refused to warranty the roof. The roof needed to be replaced & they quoted us $15,000 to replace the roof. We brought the trailer to an outside repair shop to have the roof replaced. They discovered that not only had they failed to properly place & secure a termination strip, they also failed to put the roof truss in place for the front of the trailer. The entire composition of our roof was just a thin layer of foam covered by plywood. It's nothing shy of a miracle we hadn't fallen through the roof while up there sealing it every 90 days. Do not purchase your trailer from here & avoid Heartland products at all costs. If our service rep, Robert Nichols, had not lied to us about the roof warranty we would not be in this situation. We are being stuck with a $15,000 bill to repair our trailer that is less than 2 years old. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. read more

Each associate I met was helpful, wanted to help me understand what lay ahead for me (new to camping life). From the tour of the camper on pickup day to the tutorial about how to attach the trailer to my vehicle (and detach it) helpful hints all along the way and despite the late hour, all with a smile and even as I drove out, they were still willing to answer my 1000 questions. Don't don't don't do business with them. Just don't. All the horror stories you read online about Camping World are true. The sale process is nice, and this is the catch, once you get the RV it's all downhill - if you have any issues with the RV- good luck with that. Prepare to fight for any warranty claims, and save money for out-of-pocket expanses. Repairs times are so long, sometimes in the months. If you want to sell them back the unit, expect about 15% of your initial cost. (yes, 15%, 85% less of what you paid a year before). The communication with them is hard, not responsive to email, the channels between them and the manufacture (Keystone in our case) is broken. If you expect to get any service from other Camping World branches as you travel- forget about it as well. Don't do any business with them. Do yourself a favor. read more

Although approved, they ran our credit AGAIN. Finding an RV we like on another lot, asked if they could ship it in since $1,000 is added on to the final price for freight (automatically). Ordered a club chair in May 15. Have yet to receive it. I have called numberous times. Hold times are ridiculous. All I get is it's in progess, until last Thurs. I was informed it was ordered thru their Barstow warehouse which was out of stock. There's some in Indiana, would I like it shipped from there? Well duh. These are the specs on the chair. First of all it is impossible to open. You have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. You an not sit up straight in the chair. The highest in will go is still in a recline position.The place where you need to insert the grooves under the chair to move the positions doesn't seem to be aligned with the grooves so they dont fit in making it difficult to actually move to the "5 adjustable positions".The foot rest is also very difficult to close and feels like it will break right off if I put my feet on it to actually relax and I weigh 140 pounds.I measured the distance from the sand to the seat and it is not 16 inches. More like 14 or so and once you are in it is not like other high boy chairs , which I own , that are much easier to get out of than this one. And since the footrest is hard to close it is easier to get out of it to close the footrest which makes the whole thing a huge strain on my severely compromised back. When attempting to close the chair you cannot put the the footrest back in it's original position which makes it very awkward and difficult to carry and forget if you are carrying it on the sand at the beach. When calling to set up a return we were told we had to pay for postage to return the chair , which , since it is so so heavy with the huge box is over $50 based on weighing it in our house. I can only imagine what it will really cost when we take it to the post office. The huge expense of returning it makes me think is it worth it to bother returning something when I will only get back half of what I paid. BUYER BEWARE read more

Between August and October of 2019, I was in prolonged discussions with Jeff Johnson of Camping World's Marcus VIP Team, to resolve problems we'd had with the coach we'd bought from them. On October 30, I received an unsigned email from the teams email address, dismissing the case. A phone call to Jeff revealed Camping World would not honor any warranties, either the initial one after purchase nor work that Camping World performed later. Based on my review here, on 12/27/2019, I was contacted by Senior Problem Solver Doug McCoy. We came to an agreement acceptable to both of us, and I am satisfied with the results. I appreciate Mr. McCoy's patience and efforts to resolve my problems, and my opinion of Camping World has increased as a result. read more

I needed warranty work done on my Coachmen Nova 20rb. There had been a recall on the Dometic gas stovetops in some Novas. Their service department was responsive and professional and they took care of it without any problems. I mainly dealt with Andrew Britanak, but everyone was pleasant and helpful. They are very busy, so there may be a wait for an appointment, but that it typical for this type of business, especially with so few places in the area. Just plan ahead. read more

I guess I could have done worse looking at the reviews. Had the roof replaced, a new awning installed and generator serviced. Took months longer than quoted. Because of that, I had to pay for winterize that I normally do myself. In the process of repairing the generator, they snapped a bolt removing the carburetor. They charged me over $1000 labor to fix that on top of the labor to do the repair. Couple years later the bolts anchoring the new awning fell out. They fell out because they were only anchored to the siding rather than the frame. Their diagnosis was that I had "hit" the bracket, which I didn't. They re-anchored the awning bracket into the RV frame which they should have done in the first place. And charged me for it of course. They also "fixed" the AC which was not working, but In the process the heat no longer works. (I'm loath to pay them to fix their own screw-up and I don't need the heat.) Some time later, the AC failed again. I replaced the thermostat myself for $20 and it's worked ever since. I'm sure CW would have charged me $200+ assuming they ever found it was the issue. read more

We attempted to have a faceplate installed on our Dodge Ram truck (to tow behind our motorhome) at Camping World of Lakewood NJ. After a month of back and forth phone calls to "Dustin" with him almost never returning our calls, we were finally given an appointment by him. Noon on Friday the 18th of September. When I arrived I was told the truck would be ready Monday or Tuesday I explained I was told it would be done that day and that I was going to wait for it, as our motorhome was over 50 miles away and I had no way to get home. Well, it turns out I shouldn't have been given this appointment because they couldn't work on the truck until Monday, and the job needed more time than a noon appointment. When I asked Dustin why he gave me this appointment, he said "I only make the appointments, I'm don't schedule them". Naturally I was frustrated, and asked to speak to a manager as I had driven an hour to this dealership. I asked for compensation and was given 100$ gift card from the parts manager Stephanie. My exchange with the 4 employees I interacted with was polite and with no anger. Stephanie told me I should have never been given the appointment as such and she would speak to Dustin about how this whole thing had occurred. I left the store telling "Stephanie that I try to live by the words, "if this is my only problem in life, than I have a good life". She agreed they were wise words. We made arrangements that I'd drop the truck off Sunday afternoon for work on Monday. We said our goodbyes and I left. Imagine our surprise when we received a phone call 2 hrs later from a manager "Frank" telling us they were refusing to work on our truck because "Dustin said I shoved him"!!! AND frank insisted there is a video. I explained to Frank that this had to be a misunderstanding but that I'd gladly apologize to Dustin if he felt this way. Frank refused. We asked to see this video as no such "shoving" had occurred and that too was refused. We asked if Frank had spoken with the other employees I had interacted with, Frank said he had and they confirmed I was polite and in no way angry at any time. Since this humiliating accusation never happened, I called Marcus Lemonis after finding his contact information online. A case was started and I was contacted by 2 people. I just received another callback by a gentleman named "Greg". Greg informed us that he is standing by the information supplied to him by the employees. When asked if he had viewed this "video" of the event, we were informed he hadn't. This confirmed our belief that no such video exists because no such "shoving" occurred. Greg also stated to me that it seemed "I was taking no responsibility for this event" . I explained that I'd offered to apologize to this man even though I knew I had not shoved him, but again, as Greg stated he hadn't seen this video, why was it being assumed i had done something so angrily? Greg also stated that he had spoken with other employees at the store and they confirmed Dustin's account, even though Frank had said just the opposite. We informed Greg that in such a case where it's implied a customer would do such a thing and admit to not viewing the video but stating this video exists; is fairly close to libel. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled by Camping World. Employees appear to be able to decide they don't like a customer, can make up stories about the customer, and those up the ladder at CW will do a half assed "investigation" and basically tell the customer to go away. It remains appalling to us that a man of Greg's position in the company would handle a situation in such a lackadaisical way. It's quite obvious that Dustin was reprimanded and chose to place blame on the customer in retaliation. I'd give camping world a ZERO for ratings if that existed. We took our business to Scott's RV; located also in Lakewood NJ; approximately 1/2 mile from CW. Do yourself a favor. Run from CW !! Go to Scott's if you are in that area and need anything. Our family purchased a backup camera system for our RV a month and a half ago. We have called and chatted the customer service representatives multiple times over that time to inquire about our order, because it never arrived. 5 days ago, I spoke with a representative who promised to get back to me the following business day with a status from the vendor. That day came and went, and I had to follow up again today to inquire about the status. This representative today investigated and then admitted that our order never reached the vendor. At this point, I asked to cancel the order and while on hold for the representative to perform that cancellation, my call was conferenced in to another customer. She and I talked to each other and realized there was no representative on the line anymore and so we each just waited to see if one would return. Eventually, we were hung up on. I finally called back again and got online with yet another representative, and finally our cancellation was processed. It is unacceptable that it took this long for one of the many representatives we spoke to to realize that there was a problem with the vendor receiving our order. This demonstrates a lack of follow through and a lack of commitment to digging into an issue for a customer. I'm disappointed in this company for their behavior and for the amount of their customers' time they deem it acceptable to waste. read more

Well. Had to come back here for repairs. Dropped off the RV and didn't get it back until almost 3 and a half months later! It's sad and incredibly frustrating that a 2018 vehicle was so poorly made and then pushed by the sales people when it was not made properly and ready for sale. RIDICULOUS!!! It wasn't even ready when we came to pick it up the day of our appointment after repairs. We had to wait another almost 5 hours for it to be ready and then there was still issues with the vehicle. As we were about to pull off the lot, again discovered additional problem. Living almost 2 hours away is not convenient to come down here and then have to wait again and again. It's really just a waste of time and money and I STRONGLY urge you to look elsewhere. Their one golden ticket is Stephanie who works in services.
