Be careful bringing your RV to Camping World in Jacksonville, Florida. I brought my RV in on Feb 6th for a water heater issue. The service tech, Aaron, told me the entire water heater had to be replaced and it was the only option. He even said they were doing the repair "in favor of me." I was charged over $1,500. After the repair, I received the Lippert warranty report on March 6th, which shows the issue only required two specific parts -- FLOW SENSOR 2GWH-24 (#2022107584) and WATER PIPE ASSEMBLY NEW STYLE 2GWH-19A (#2022107579) -- not a full replacement. I spoke with Operations Manager Hunter, who gathered information from me and from Rose at Gulf Stream Coach warranty, but since then all calls go to voicemail and there has been no attempt to resolve the issue. I am a single mother living in my RV with my one-year-old with Down syndrome, and being charged thousands for a repair that was not necessary has been extremely stressful. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before allowing this location to work on your RV. read more

I purchased a camper van in July 2025. Since I live in Georgia, Camping World needed to send the Georgia title paperwork so I could register my van and get a GA plate. It's now September 25, and I still don't have my plate. The Jacksonville Camping World has mishandled the paperwork twice, and my temporary tag will expire on the 27th--for the second time. I called today to address the issue, but the person responsible was "not working today." The typical response I get is, "we'll leave her a message," which never leads to any real action. The problem is that there are no consequences for this level of poor service. You would expect an organization of Camping World's size to care about its reputation, but my experience has been the opposite. tldr - Sales is good - everything else sucks - enough that we'll never buy or have anything serviced at Camping World again. We purchased our first camper, a new 2024 Coleman Lantern 17B in May of 2024. The purchase was a breeze. The salesperson was personable, and the back-office people were professional. We opted for the extended service plan from GoodSam (owned by Camping World). They scheduled a walkthrough the following week, which is where things started to go downhill. The walk-through (which Camping World charges $600 for) was basically a person telling us "this is your camper - good luck". There was no "this is how you hook up the sewer or power, this is where your breakers are, this is how the AC inverter works" or any other advice. We hooked up the camper (I learned that I needed a brake controller from watching a YouTube video btw, not from anyone at Camping World) we noticed that the camper felt like there was a lot of slack when we took off. After taking it to my dad's house we realized that the camper required a 2 5/16" ball, we had a standard 2" something you would think Camping Worlds stellar RV specialists would have at least pointed out. We also had issues with the brake controller, I figured I connected it wrong. After retracing the installation in my truck, I figured it was a bad unit. I replaced it but still was having problems. By then we had the '15-point inspection' that Camping World provides. Dropped it off and 2 weeks later they complete the inspection. On picking up the camper, the Camping World rep told me we needed about $1400 worth of repairs, for things like "Gas Furnace maintenance" and "Gas jet cleaning on the fridge" - I was aghast since the Coleman Lantern has a 12v electric fridge and a 110v electric fireplace. Their explanation was that their tech must have switched the paperwork. I get the camper back home - still having braking issues. My father came over to look at the brake controller and after inspecting the camper finds that the electric lines running to the brakes were never crimped at the factory - something that the 15-point inspection should have caught - I serious doubt that Camping World actually performed any kind of inspection. In early August we were camping in the Appalachians when the fridge went out. We call Camping World and schedule an appointment to have it fixed (mid-August) telling the service rep that we had another trip scheduled at the beginning of September. He tells us it should be ready by August 20th and that it'll be covered under warranty work. August 20th blows buy, we call for an update but never get a response. We cancel the early September trip since we can't get any information on the status of our camper - repeated calls and emails. Finally on September 25th we get an email basically telling us that they got confirmation that it would in-fact be covered by warranty - mind you they've had the camper for a month already and all they've done was confirm that they would cover repairs on a camper that is less than 1 year old, specifically made for Camping World, that Camping World has dozens of on the lot, and is covered by Good Sam extended service - which is also a Camping World company. We emailed Camping World again on October 3rd stating that it's been a month and a half with no info on the camper and that we needed to talk to the general manager. We get a voice message on October 7th stating, "This is Camping World, your camper is ready for pick-up" and that's it. We call them back and tell them that because of all the storms we're out of town and would pick it up Friday, October 11th. When I pick up the camper I decide to check out the new fridge and find that they didn't even mount the thing, they just sat it in place without screwing in any of the mounting brackets, they also damaged the fridge opening. The service rep tells me that it doesn't look safe to which I reply "It's not and I'm so done with you people". NEVER BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD!!! I wish I could review the sales and service team separately here. First, the positive... Doc with the sales team was awesome, great personality, and responsive to all my questions and needs when I purchased a pulled behind from him. Your atypical sales experience in my opinion, which was a good thing. He was understanding and knew what I wanted and needed when shopping. Even after purchase he assisted with allowing some storage time onsite after the install of a washer/dryer combo unit by the service department. That's where this review shifts and gets the negative reviews. After sales the service/parts team conducts a store walkthrough... this is embarrassing. Maybe some ask or need this and may benefit but they try to sell you on useless items. Even small things like a garden hose 90 degree elbow, no I don't need nor want this and please don't pressure customers into this scheme of your $500 add on shopping spree. Further, the St Augustine location actually provides your a small startup kit when purchasing from them. One of my must haves was a washer/dryer unit or at least connections ready. After purchase I paid for the washer and dryer unit and the install which was a promotion offer going on at the time. No issues unit I received notification that the install was complete, the cabinet was marred, scratched and destroyed beyond economical repair (hopefully can attach photos to this review). About 2 weeks after the install I got a call from the service department stating my install took longer than expected and would cost nearly $300 more due to 2 hours of overage. Mind you I discussed with the team beforehand to ensure the unit was fit for my trailer and discussed the standard install time. Contract even states they will call if determined to be beyond their standard install trim frame quoted by the promo offer. I told the agent calling that I was going to dispute this and she, as well as my sales agent agreed that this should not be charged to me under the circumstances and being called 2 weeks later that their was more costs. Thankfully this was resolved and I did not have to pay the additional charges they initially demanded, win for the service department and management team for their review on this. I would give a full and positive review had not the cabinet and unit be damaged and left unclean after the install. After pickup the existing cabinet dividers and shelves were laid on the bed with exposed screws, damaging the bedding. The floor and surrounding area was left with debris and packing material from the washer install. Doc... great sales team and much appreciated, but the service team needs better training and quality of work. read more

I normally give people the benefit of doubt, however after my conversation with Oscar, the manager, I have decided to write this review regarding the time it took them to repair and the failure to repair a sliding door on our Merecedes Benz 4500. When we called them for a refund since we got it successfully repaired at another shop, Oscar refused to provide the refund. For that door, it took their mechanics two weeks. We recommend "RV there" in Saint Augustine. Their services are impeccable and they care about people very much. Camping World RV place felt like it was a purely business, not willing to refund for shoddy work. I should have heeded other reviews here before dropping off our van with Camping World, however thought that was the only place at that time and was left with no choice. Bottom line, If your mechanics are not able to do their work, you need to refund customers. read more

Assisted by Vinny/Spenser of St. Augustine. They replaced my awning. The whole awning casing simply fell off the rv at camp-if it had come off while driving, I may have injured or killed others on the highway. Had to lift a 150 lbs casing into the rv. They argued that they had done good a good job. In 15 years of RVing this has never happened to anybody -nowhere! In that same service request, they were ask to repair the generator, they took 3 hours of labor to replace a $25 air filter. I say again, IT TOOK THEM 3 HOURS TO REPLACE AN AIR FILTER, charged me $509. There are no nuts, screws or difficulty in opening or getting to this filter on Onan 2300 lp unit. It takes 1.5 minutes to do. AFTER WORK STARTS, they are extremely hard to get on the phone. They have cost me 1000s of dollars in battery loss, and years of travel time. read more

The salesman spoke very fast and in circles. It was a holiday weekend with a discount for the holiday. The numbers didn't show the discount and he continued to speak very quickly which is a red flag to me. I had to threaten to leave for him to redo the numbers with the discount. There is a table that has a sign reading "welcome to the family" which we were told we didn't qualify for which it didn't specify a certain purchase number to get the package. I had to manipulate them to give me one of the items we needed to get started. The unit we tested had an issue with the door closing. He said it may or may not be the one we get with our purchase. Well it was the one and we're still having issues with the door closing. We had to bring it in to get it repaired as well as the awning. We had a trip planned in 2wks and was assured it would be ready. We called the beginning of the week we were supposed to leave multiple times with no return phone call. We had to drive there to get an answer. It seems as now they made the sale that we aren't important any more. read more

I purchased a 2022 Keystone Sprinter (brand new) from Camping World in Jacksonville, Florida in April 2022. Unfortunately, I have to recommend that no one purchase any type of camper from this location. I have had nothing but issues since I purchased the fifth wheel. From the time of the purchase to dealing with the service department has been nothing but frustrating. After purchasing the fifth wheel and during the inspection I was told that I had a tankless water heater and had unlimited hot water. Then I noticed that the front AC was not blowing cold air and the rep conducting the inspection at the time of purchase said he would have the AC looked at. I was deploying overseas and was unable to be at the RV park when it was delivered. My parents received delivery of the trailer & secured it while I was deployed but did not check the front AC to ensure it was working. I returned from my deployment in June and discovered the front AC was not working even after they said they would check it during the inspection along with the front slide stuck in the open position. I immediately made contact with Campers World and spoke with service rep Amanda. She stated that the RV would have to be brought in for service even after I told her the front slide will not close. I paid for a service tech to come out to the RV resort. The service tech fixed some minor issues then advised that I did not have a tankless water heater which I was under the impression I had since that is what I was told from the service tech completing the inspection at the time of purchase. Then he advised that the front AC was bad and would have to go through warranty to get a new one. Finally he found the issue with the slide. The electrical wires at the top of the front slide had been spliced and electrical tape was used instead of a wire nut to cover the splice. Functioning the slide in and out both by the dealer and me caused a short and burned out the motor. I know this wasn't Camping Worlds fault but it is the poor craftsmanship of keystone. The mobile service tech stated this was also covered under warranty. He stated that both parts (the AC & motor) would be ordered and when it arrives I would have to bring the trailer in to have the front slide repaired. I waited roughly a week and contacted the service department and was told that the warranty for the repairs have been approved and that they would order the AC. They said it could take 2-3 weeks. Unacceptable as we are in the middle of the summer in Florida. After complaining to the service manager and advising him that this was first identified when I purchased the camper he stated that he had no record of this in the file. Eventually, they were able to locate an AC and it was installed within a week. He said once the new AC arrives they would put it back in their inventory. Roughly two weeks before I had to deploy back overseas I spoke with a service rep and he said the motor for the slide still hasn't come in and to call next week. I waited the week and called again speaking service rep Amanda. I explained to her what the service rep said last week and she said no they haven't even ordered the part because I needed to bring in the trailer so they could get the part number for the motor and then they would order it. This is not what I was told from the beginning. I asked her if she could not contact Keystone and give them the model number to see what motor is needed. She said that she gets the run around when calling Keystone and even like the AC issue she said they are still waiting on the AC that they ordered under my warranty ticket and claimed the AC's are back ordered. To no avail I had no choice but to bring the trailer to the service department. I complained on a Keystone YouTube video and received an email from Keystone. After explaining the situation they replied via email and said that the warranty was approved but Camping World never ordered the AC. So here we are my trailer was delivered to Camping World for repair on 29 July and it is now 23 August and the repairs are still not completed on the slide. I had to contact the service manager and advised him of the situation and sent him the emails that I initially sent Amanda. She finally responded with trailer has been looked at and they are now waiting on warranty approval. I sent a follow-up email asking her if the other items I had listed in the email have been corrected and received no response. Finally, on 8 September, I received an email stating the fifth wheel has been repaired. A little over a month it took to have the front slide repaired. read more

BEWARE- Slated to buy a camper...check in hand arrived after a 9 hour drive to pick up camper only to find it damaged because it was set up incorrectly. and sat there for over two days with water dripping and the condensation from the AC that flooded over the over flow pan. Opened the door and the entire mattress was soaked and the flooring soaked already showing signs of warping. zero effort on Camper Worlds end to make it right. All they did is continue to pressure and gaslight me into buying it. Claiming "nothing is wrong...it is fine...it will dry...." Yet clearing the damage could be seen. No offer to correct the issue- NONE. No compensation in price, no offer to replace the plywood, no offering a warranty, no offer for reimbursement of time and travel. When I asked for, at the very least, if they cover the cost for us to come pick it up I was basically told too bad, while still being gaslit. If I had agreed to buy the camper in the condition that we found it obviously that would not be an issue but the damage occurred AFTER I agreed to buy it.... Come on Camper World do better! I am beyond thrilled that we just picked up our 5th wheel from this Camping World location and never have to bring it back. We are moving and will be utilizing a different Camping World location. The customer service is atrocious. They hang onto your camper for months with zero updates and will not return your calls. We purchased our 5th wheel brand new and expected that we would run into some small things that needed to be repaired, aka manufacturer defects. That's not a problem at all. Our problems started with the complete lack of communication after we dropped it off the first time. We dropped it off in March of 2022 and by the end of June we still don't have our camper back and have had no one communicate how much longer it will be. We wanted to go on a camping trip for July 4th so we started calling to find out if we could come pick it up. It takes a minimum of 3 times of calling before you can ever expect to actually speak to someone. We've even had to get directly in touch with the manager because no one else would return our calls. We got ahold of someone eventually and were able to pick the camper up for our holiday weekend. Much to our surprise, the small fixes that were needed were not even complete AND our camper had new problems! Big ones, too. Jacks that would go up on their own, causing major safety issues, and a fridge that wouldn't cool off completely (we're talking about Florida in July, by the way). After our trip, we dropped it back off to have the previous repairs completed, along with the new repairs that were needed. Here we go again, multiple months and zero communication. Finally got ahold of someone at the beginning of October to get an update. We were ready to take another camping trip so we asked to pick it up. When we picked it up, almost everything was fixed but there were new problems! Our fridge was fixed inside but it had been dented and scratched all over the front, there was a big chunk taken out of our ceramic toilet lid (almost like someone dropped a hammer on it) and there was water damage in the master bathroom, under the sink. The particle board was swollen and completely warped. Dropped it off yet again after that camping trip with the hope that we would get all of our repairs completed. We are now moving across the country with our 5th wheel so those repairs are crucial. We had to reach out multiple times, of course, to tell them that we needed it back as soon as possible and that any additional repairs will be completed at our destination city. We picked it up hoping that we would have a camper that was completely fixed and we were yet again disappointed. They put a new fridge in but it is damaged. We have yet to pick our camper up from this location and not find new problems. I get that Covid has delayed everything but the lack of communication has been a miserable experience and that has nothing to do with Covid. The only reason that we continued using this location is because Camping World is who our warranty is through and the only other locations are multiple hours away. We now realize that it would've been well worth it to drive the extra miles. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Lousy customer service ...... My husband and I went to Camping World Jacksonville on Wednesday to buy a pull behind camper. We walked into the store and the young woman at the counter where you walked in never acknowledged us. We stood there in front of her while she texted on her phone, answered a few incoming calls and literally ignored us. Same for the woman at the register across the aisle. At lease she was ringing up a few customers. Ten plus minutes later I walked next to my husband and said, "did she call someone up?" he said no. She then looked up at us. I said to husband this is ridiculous, they arent even busy and I can literally see 5 employees and no one even aknowledges us. Ridiculous... Finally a woman walk up and says are you finding everything? We told her no and that service was seriously lacking and we were considering leaving. Greeter girl said I was gonna call a sales person. The lady then said that the girl up front is new to which I responded that I recommend someone train her. She found a woman to come help us. As we get on the golf cart to go look at the trailers, the sales lady asked our names. When I told her my name and that my husband is Jim, she looked at me and said "that was my ex husband's name, and that is not a good thing at all." I just looked at her thinking, really? did she just say that to a customer? we went on to look at the trailers heaaring another couple of stories about ex husband and his new house and wife. We left, went straight to the Camping Inn and RV (formerly Dick Gore's RV's) about 5 miles away. Night and day in customer service from the moment you walked in until you finished. We bought the camper from them instead, cash and all. Sad that Camping world lost a $40k customer because of poor customer service, but honestly, if it is that bad when they are supposed to be selling you something, I can only imagine how horrid their follow up service and ongoing service is. I highly recommend skipping the Camping World experience and going somewhere else. read more

We purchased our motorhome December 31 2022 or first of January 2023 From camping world in Jacksonville. Our first camping trip we noticed a few things that needed to be fixed. We went on the second trip and found a few more things on the third trip the outside kitchen door fell off while sitting at the campsite and in the rain the windshield leaked inside so we called and set up a time to bring the motor home to Camping World where we bought it and took the list of item that needed to be fixed. We then showed Fabian all the things that needed to be fixed and he entered in the computer. Later he called us back and said service checked the camper and that most of the items were fine And that we had hit something with the outside kitchen door. My husband informed him that all items needed to be fixed or replaced And we did not hit anything with the door that if you look at it you will see it had not been hit by anything it had fell apart. We have been calling every week or two and given many excuses of why it hasnt been completed. Today March 20,2024 my husband called again and was told by Fabian the motorhome was not in the bay which we had been told last week that it was by Hunter and John. My husband then called Thor and was told that the item that they were waiting on was ordered Febr 27,2024 and delivered February 26.2024. My husband then talked to Thor again and Scott with Thor told him he called Camping World and Fabian told him our motorhome was in the bay being worked on. So do not go to camping world and expect respect and honesty because you will not receive it. They will lie and keep putting you off. We still don't know when we will get our motorhome back. UPDATE..... Three months after my purchase, I have a needed major repair. I contacted my salesman Al Harvey to coordinate with the service department. Total waste of time. Clearly, the only concern of the Jacksonville Camping World is to collect your money with minimal amount of work and send you out the door. My advice to those considering an RV purchase from this location: SHOP AROUND. I spent almost $100,000 on my fifth wheel and after the check was cashed they could care less. If you spend less than I did, do you think that you will get better service ? I am so disappointed with Jacksonville Camping World. The money that I saved on the purchase will be spent on repairs because no other Forest River dealership in Delaware will do warranty work unless you bought the RV from them. read more

Took one our restroom trailers in for service. Had an appointment for 11am on Tuesday 10/31/23. They had another A/C to replace the one that was broken. I asked about the warranty on the one that broke, and their attitude changed. "Well that's going to be 2-3 weeks" , I said I understand, but if it's under warranty it should be repaired for free. (They wanted to sell me a $1800 new A/C unit). I left the trailer and Friday 11/3/23 followed up with Martha the service writer. She said she would have someone look at it today. Huh? I had an appointment 3 days ago. Why hasn't anyone looked at it. Regardless she said they would file a claim to have it replaced. Martha called a few days later asking for proof of purchase which I sent them. 3 weeks later they still have not filed a claim. Said my proof of purchase was not good enough and the manufacturer needed more info. I contacted the Mfg and they said they have never received the claim. I took my unit to another shop and within a week had the claim filed and repaired my A/C. Terrible customer service at this location. read more

Had an issue with a new camper bought from camping world that turned out not to be any fault if the camper or it's equipment. The culprit was a clogged inline water filter on the city hose connection. Hogan Mims came right out on a Sunday morning and worked as hard to figure it out as the day he sold us the camper. This is a super nice CW if you can get to it. This location is located just off the interstate and takes some navigating to get to it once you exit. So use the GPS to ensure you don't get lost in the neighborhood. As with many CW they lack decent parking for cars and you end up having to park a ways from the store if that is your main purpose of a CW visit. The store is large and has many items that I haven't seen at other locations. They have a nice clearance section with those finds that you wanted but at a better price. The customer service is not too bad my only complaint would be cashing out they had 2 registers and we were waiting at one and then were asked to go to the other side. In doing so we ended up getting behind 3 people that were there after us. Their lot is filled with a nice selection of RVs if you are in the market for a new one. The maintenance area looked large and they could accommodate a lot of coaches. read more

The sales persons here, especially Kelly, are so patient and precise during the buying process. Even though it was raining, the folks were very patient in showing us multiple options and even going back a second time to compare travel trailers. We finally narrowed the options to 3, then 2 and finally decided on what to buy. The sales persons were also very helpful in helping us to decide what was needed to complete the camping experiences, such as water hoses, pressure reducers, jack-stand blocks, grills, etc... When it was time to hook the travel trailer to my truck, I was educated about weight distribution hitches and how to engage/disengage when needed. The Jacksonville store is full of good folks and I can't see how anyone would be disappointed with their help in fulfilling the needs and desires. I ended up buying a 27' Cherokee T/T and after three months of ownership, I am still smiling and very pleased with the choice we made. read more

I bought an RV trailer here in mid December 2021. 1.I was assured that the dealership would be completing the process for manufacturer warranty. Within 4 days of returning home, at the first rain, I discovered significant leaks in a window and also into a ceiling flush lamp. My local CW in NC immediately attempted to utilize the warranty and repair the leaks, but discovered from the manufacturer that the Jacksonville location had not registered the trailer to me. Despite numerous requests to Jacksonville to register the trailer, or simply return our calls, they just fed me empty promises or misinformation and then ignored us. It finally took me calling the CEOs complaint hotline to get any resolution, which was over 3 weeks after the purchase. 2. I was verbally promised that a scar on the paint of the trailer (that I pointed out at the inspection pre-purchase), which could not be repaired at Jacksonville on a timely basis, would be repaired at my local CW in NC. I was told that the process involved a "we owe" sent from Jacksonville to my local dealer on that very day. Despite numerous requests to Jacksonville to issue the "we owe", or simply return our calls, we were ignored. It finally took calling the CEO complaint hotline to get any resolution, which was 9 weeks after the purchase. I would not do business with the Jacksonville CW, but if you do, be careful that you are either local and can confront them personally to get promises kept, or be prepared to escalate their failures to keep promises to the CW CEO office. (I found the CEO hotline for complaint resolution to be highly efficient and effective, and I have received excellent service from my local NC CW.) read more

Half the fun of owning a camper is working on your camper. My 2011 Keystone Alpine 3500 RE is my third camper. Although I do enjoy wrenching on my own equipment, there are times we need to take our rig into a shop. My kitchen slide out started extending and retracting crooked on a trip from Ohio back to Georgia. One side was leading the other, both extending and retracting. Rear leveling jacks stopped working as well. I called Camping World in Jacksonville and they got me scheduled in within a couple of days. Being the beginning of the spring camping season, I was pleasantly surprised. I dropped my camper off at Camping World - Jacksonville and gave Brian a tour of the problems. Probably only took twenty minutes. A representative called me within a couple of days with the diagnosis. Welds had failed on the slide-out mechanism. They needed my authorization to make the repairs, which entailed essentially rebuilding, and re-welding brackets on the slide-out mechanism. I got a call within a few days that my camper was ready to be picked up, and that Camping World - Jacksonville had handled all of the claims with my seven-year extended warranty. Upon arriving to pick up my camper, these folks had it plugged in and allowed me to do a complete inspection of the work performed. The technician that did the work and a service manager were present to show me the work that had been done. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of customer service. While doing my inspection, we discovered another small issue. Camping World - Jacksonville suggested that I simply leave the camper, as they needed to order some parts. Two days later, it was fixed and ready for pick-up. The additional work was covered under my extended warranty, which the folks at Camping World - Jacksonville completely handled. Once again, Camping World - Jacksonville had my camper pulled in front of a bay and plugged into power for inspection. All was good. This is the first time I had used Camping World - Jacksonville for service on my camper. I'm a little price sensitive, but even without the warranty, the pricing for Camping World's service was very reasonable. The customer service and attention, follow-up and follow-through were excellent. Keeping their customer informed was excellent. The workmanship of the repairs is excellent. The speed of getting my camper in and our, all repaired was excellent. I will definitely use Camping World - Jacksonville in the future, and I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

But it turned out to be another waste of my time as NO ONE has responded to such email I sent nor phone calls from corporate have been returned. No wonder the franchise here does as they please.
