Husband and I were hoping to trade in our motorhome and purchase a toy hauler. We had previously stopped at two other dealers and met with sales staff. One dealer never called us back, and even after we called again and spoke to him, he said he would call back but two weeks later he never did. Our next stop was at a dealer that sold toy haulers that we were very interested in. We were shown around the grounds and narrowed our choice down within 30 minutes. When we provided them with our trade, the suit guy came back to inform us that we were upside down and asked what we originally paid for our motorhome. When we told him, he told us we were ripped off and paid more than retail. Please note, he never saw our motorhome, or talked options. We knew we were upside down on the motorhome, but we left this place feeling humiliated and violated. We then stopped at Camping World and met Justin Niewnow. Justin took us around and showed us several toy haulers. He was a delight to deal with an made us feel comfortable. Unfortunately we are upside down but Justin's personal patience, insight and professional manner has made an impression on us. We will figure out what we will do, but when we are ready to get that toy hauler we will reach out to Justin Nienow at Camping World. Being treated with respect in a bad situation speaks volumes for Justin personally and Camping World for employment practices. read more

Had another great visit/experience at your location. After talking with the GM and Service Manager on seperate calls about checking brakes on camper due to them not working on our first trip home. They both had informed me that they can hook up to camper and test with computer and they have fleet trucks that they would road test the camper with. Well we went in Friday 6/18 around 4 pm to pick up camper and was told brakes are working fine and have 17 amps which is above normal. I asked did they road test it? Response was yes....rolled the truck and camper 2 feet and triggered dash of my truck check trailer brakes. So they went and got another gentleman who jaked up each tire free spun wheel while I applied brakes through controller to find the one that is not working. The frustrating part is this was a 2hr process that at which I wasted a trip, time, and fuel. The camper was dropped off for a week and NO one took the time or effort to truly look into the issue. As expected I was over promised and Camping World under delivered on service that would be provided. Oh and they hooked up to our camper with fork lift while capture plate was on it must have fallen off after lock bolt bent away from king pin and got dragged along. Service Manager had someone booger weld it with no prep to the capture plate which I informed him was completely unacceptable and needed a replacement shipped to my house(needs to be direct replacement "pull rite" not universal brand. read more

I contacted Camping World to schedule a Mobile RV visit for our AC that was not working. Susan at Camping World told me the trip charge was $75.00 and the diagnostic charge was $75.00; however, they required a $200 deposit. Susan specifically advised that the "unused" amount of my deposit should we not use Camping World for the repairs, would be refunded. My appointment was May 31 between11 and 1. At 10:45 I received a call that the tech was running late from his earlier appointment but would be at our home by 1:30. Well, 1:30 came and went - at 2 PM I had to call and ask where the tech was - he had only just left Camping World 10 min prior so wouldn't be at my home for another 30 minutes - making him 2 hours late. After the tech completed the diagnostic he said we would get a quote for the repairs the next day. We received nothing. 4 days later I called and tried to speak to Susan -no response only voice mail 6x and no return call. I finally talked to Susan who emailed me what she said was a quote that had stuff on it that I wanted an explanation, such as "shipping fees" for product they had in stock. I emailed Susan back asking what these charges were - received no response at all. I received a call from Chad a week after asking if we were moving forward with the repairs I advised him no based on the inability to receive a timely quote, his tech being 2 hours late and failure to respond to emails. On June 17 I inquired of Susan where my refund was from the $200 deposit since we did not elect to use them to complete the repairs. I received a response from Chad stating I was not going to receive a "refund" because the charges exceeded the $200! When I inquired what he was talking about and advised that Susan said we would receive a refund, he informed me it had to be "in writing". That is a bunch of BS Susan represented not once but TWICE that we would receive a refund and now they do not want to and tell me I would have additional charges that were pulled out of thin air. This is fraudulent misrepresentation and an attempt to steal money they are not entitled to. DO NOT GO TO CAMPING WORLD FOR REPAIRS OR ANY SERVICE THEY ARE A RIP OFF! read more

Leave while you can! Absolute worst customer service ever. We bought an RV here. Out of the first 2 years, the RV was in the shop for 18 months of the 24. Each time, they needed to order the parts which took several weeks to over a month to get in. Once they sell the RV to you, they could care less about you anymore. They also cannot hold employees. I went through 9 different service advisors and had to explain the whole frustrating situation to them each time. When you call them, the lady that picks up has no idea who is available or not. Each time you get transferred, you get an answering machine. Trying to get a hold of someone is next to impossible. DO NOT do business here. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!! I want to warn consumers before they make the mistakes that I did. We purchased a new unit from Tampa Camping World in April 2018 (2018 Forest River Cherokee bumper pull) to place on our vacation property in western North Carolina mountains. Our sales person was very nice but obviously not very knowledgable of products and where they will be located. This unit should not have even been an option for us due to the location it was going to be placed (something us uniformed consumers did not know). We had it delivered because we did not have a vehicle to tow it with and the problems began. 1. the outside light cover was missing 2. the kitchen area cabinets were scuffed 3. the stove cover was missing a screw 4. the panel on the wall in the bathroom was popped out 5. the refridgerator was not functioning (did not cool) The first four problems seemed simple enough to fix right? Well I was mailed the items to fix myself with the exception of a fix for the panel in the bathroom. So on my vacation I got to become an RV repairman. The one that takes the cake on this is the refridgerator. On our walk through of the unit, it did not work. I was informed that a brand new one would be put in before it was delivered. It did not work. I called service at Tampa Camping World numerous times telling them about the issue and they finally returned my call and he told me that he watched them get the new fridge out and put it in for us. Well what I did not tell him until after he had chosen to lie to me was that I had already done my researh and called Norcold and they informed me that that fridge was registered to someone else with a Thor motorhome. I don't have a Thor. After 2 months of arguing back and forth, they finally sent people from a nearby store with a new fridge for this unit and replaced it. From the beginning we were told that it would be no problem to send mobile units out to fix this unit due to us not having a tow vehicle to bring it in. More problems arise each time I go to the unit. Some of which were easy fixes but should not have even arose if quality control was utilized. The water heater line under the bed was leaking due to the lines not being tightened. The same with the water lines under the bathroom sink (see I am becoming an RV repairman).Now for the major problems that have been accumulating over the last several months that I have constantly called and left messages, spoke with the General Manager about and all of them ignore me (Jerry Henrich in service and Antonio being the General Manager) 1.Mold in the bunk house slide from one side of it to the other 2. the furnace does not heat 3. massive condensation through out the unit and on the windows (I keep 4 damp rids and 2 electric dehumidifiers in this unit, and it does not help) 4. There Is A GAS SMELL 5. the outside kitchen door does not shut properly 6. the front door does not shut properly 7. The windows freeze (the emergency exits freeze shut and you cannot open them) 8. the toilet leaks 9. the shower pan feels like it breaking 10. the windows are not sealed completely so the condensation from the windows leaks down inside the walls 11. the windows do not drain (water puddles in them and then spills over) 12. the water heater valve outside leaks so when its cold there are icicles hanging below it I can go on and on but I think you get the just of it. Basically after informing Camping World of where this unit was being placed should have never been sold to us. You will freeze in this unit if it is cold outside. I am glad it is not still in Florida either because the mold would grow quicker than in the cold. We have spoke to so many people and no one wants to help us. We need another unit better fitted for the area and can not get one due to the negative equity in this unit. I have even contacted the retail complaint department (1-888-393-7450 just in case someone reading this might need their number) and they have opened an investigation on it and hopefully we will hear something from them soon but I have no faith in that happening either because we have been LIED to so much already. We are told to bring it in to be worked on ( again no vehicle and the closest Camping World to the unit is one and half hours away) and the mobile techs that have come out have even stated to us that it is a POS. They can't even fix some of the issues with it. We are so aggravated and disappointed. The property was purchased and prepped (level, gravel area and carports) just for this unit and have spent so much time, money and energy for this unit to be such a disappointment. I hope this helps others to know what we have went through. Please do your research for whichever unit your wanting to not only make sure it is a floor plan that works for you but make sure you have the information on the insulation and warranty info you need for a better choice than we made. read more

THE SERVICE STAFF IS RUDE AND WILL NOT RETURN!!! I called for 6 days trying to get someone in service and parts. Never could get anyone so I decided to go in person. The guy was rude and said no no we can't order it. I knew that wasn't the case so I contacted another camping world and it was able to be ordered. My fifth wheel is only 5 years old and needed a stove top replacement. These guys are beyond rude and will not help you. They lost a customer today. I have a travel trailer that was purchased at a competitor in town but I wanted to try the service out at Camping World. I made my appointment a month ago and confirmed they could work on the specific trailer that I own. They told me they could get the warranty items from my manufacturer so I thought it was all great. This morning I spend an hour to go get the trailer from storage, hook it up to my truck, and drive in traffic towards Camping World for my appointment. I get a call 10 minutes before the appointment to tell me they can't work on my trailer. They apologize but do not offer anything for my inconvenience. It would have been nice to get notified earlier that 10 minutes before the appointment or since they discovered this so late, they could have offered for me to bring it in for a complimentary service and wash or anything since I was already close to their store. I missed work this morning, wasn't able to take my kids to school like normal, and wasted time and gas. Had they given me good customer service I most likely would have purchased my next RV from them in a year but now I will never go back. Such a sad way for them to treat a possible customer. We had an unfortunate "newbies" accident that caused a tear in our fiberglass roof. Since we purchased the coach at Camping World, we took it to them for repair. What a fiasco! While replacing our roof, a worker knocked a vat of glue through the bedroom fan opening. Our beautiful real wood interior was spattered from top to bottom with sticky pink glue. Our bed, bedding, carpeting, cabinetry and flooring were ruined. While we understand accidents happen, this situation was just devastating. Most of all, the amount of time it took Camping World to make us whole again was exasperating. We've since sold the coach and have left this experience behind, however it certainly left us with a "sticky" experience with us as a result. read more

Do yourself a favor and purchase your RV elsewhere. I purchased a brand new 2017 Forest River Grey Wolf toy hauler from the Camping World in Dover, Florida in August of 2016. I paid cash and did not finance the travel trailer. At the time, I also purchased an 84 month extended service agreement. That service agreement was at a cost of over $ 2600.00. In February of 2018, at the Tampa RV show, I decided to purchase a different travel trailer from Lazy Days RV. I traded in my Forest River Grey Wolf toy hauler. As specified in the service agreement paper work, I notified the finance department at Camping World. Paula in the finance department faxed over the information to United Service Protection Corporation, who is the administrator of the service contract. I was told that a refund would be issued in a few weeks. By the end of April 2018 I still had not received any refund or correspondence. So I made another trip to Camping World. Paula had apparently left and Tim, who now works in the finance department, claimed that Paula had not submitted the information and he would take care of it. It is now June of 2018, no refund, no correspondence from Camping World or United Service Protection Corporation Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. The company seems to be a revolving door of employees and no one cares about your past purchase. At the very least, do not purchase an extended warranty from Camping World. read more

WORST SHOP EVER! STAY WAY for your own good. Total attitude and incompetent. I HAD TO SUE THESE A HOLS FOR $1841.36 to get my money back. Simple cooling belt replacement & they Fd that up. They blew the starter trying to start it. It wouldn't start because they hookit it back up wrong. Instead of trying fix it they just left it setting in the lot 2 weeks. My generator was returned to me non-functional, they cut off the exhaust pipe to remove the generator and did not reinstall it, left 90% of the cover screws off, did not apologize whatsoever and did not try to resolve the issue. I had to take it to another shop for them to FIX IT RIGHT and that cost me another $1654.00. TOTAL DIRT BAGS! read more

We bought our class C, in which it became a class of it's own. We bought it one week went back the next week to sign the paper work, then it stayed there for 3 weeks while they were working on the generator. Went to pick it up drove it about 40 miles and the generator stopped producing power to power up the coach. Had to wait another week before they could take it back in. Got it and transfer switch had blown had to order. Took 3 weeks to get it in. Now 2 more weeks to repair it. In the mean time they had some other issues to address such as brakes front end was pulling all over the road went into Ford garage so they said to be repaired. NOT! After a month in the shop, we pick it up took it home in Polk county loaded it and went to Tampa were it broke down again. Again 2 weeks before it can get back into the shop for repairs. They check and have to order another transfer switch so they say. another 3 weeks it's in another week it gets back into the shop. Halaluha!! We are going camping. NOT! The front end had never been rebuilt, nor the brakes repaired or the generator repaired. So another month went by and we picked it up again. We made 4 months of payments for a dead horse that they had for 6 of those months. If someone was to steal this thing they would bring it back with a I"m sorry for taking this, here it is back to you. I"ve had front front end rebuilt and the wheels balanced myself and it handles very well now. Tampa store is your best friend while you are there but all Camping Worlds are until you leave with a coach they have sold. Then they don't know you. The reason I say this is because while our class C was in the shop, I saw our salesman that sold us this one and we wanted to trade up to a class A again. The 1 star is for the Service Department. My wife and I purchased a new Keystone Sprinter in August. We had a wonderful experience with the sales and finance personnel. We went camping for a long weekend in our new Sprinter and found some things that needed to be corrected. I called to get an appointment to have these issues taken care of. I could not get an appointment for over a month. The appointment was for October 2, 2017. I was there with the unit first thing in the morning October 2. I was told I would be contacted either Wednesday or Thursday to inform me of what was transpiring with our 5th wheel. I did not hear from anyone so I contacted them on Friday. I was informed they have not put my 5th wheel in the shop yet to look at it. It has been there for a week with a scheduled appointment and no one has even looked at it yet. This service department is definitely lacking. It all starts at the top with management. Someone is not making sure things are getting done in a timely manner. I would not recommend anyone taking their RV to the Camping World in Tampa for service. The sales department, finance department and the store personnel are great but the service department does not do things in a timely manner. read more

They will not stand behind anything in a used unit even though they assure you that ever inch is inspected to be sure it is working (NOT TRUE) If you decide to buy a used unit try every single thing every door, moveable part, appliance, fan, light, slide out every single thing even if it takes hours to do it once you leave they won't even return a call for advice on fixing the issues that it was sold with even though the service delivery person says "trust me it works" never trust them on anything it will end up costing you big bucks to fix all the trust me its working parts like it has us. read more

We went to camping world to find a great family 38 foot camper found a 2019 Coleman camper at the Dover camping world online we drove 2 1/2 hours just to look at it. We notice the trim was laying down but the sales man said campers that have a lot of traffic have a lot of wear and tear. lots of people were looking at the unit we decided to purchase the camper may 19th 2019. After about a month we ended up planning a trip set the camper up the driveway and started putting blankets and stuff in it. Noticed under the bench seats in the dining area there was mold and wood that had fell down later that after noon we had rain and noticed a lot of water coming in the kitchen and the dining area as well as all the windows in the living room and dining room. The right side was bowed out too which we never noticed when we bought it. the kitchen slide was rotted completely to the point where the wood was coming apart. in the dinette area there was about 2 to three inches of water. We contacted camping world of Kissimmee since we live closer to that location. They couldn't get us in till the end of August so we had to buy a trap and dehumidifier. Water was coming in with the slides open and closed. We had to dump the dehumidifier out every 4 hours because it would fill up so fast with water. The smell was awful and I have bad allergies so I ended up sick from breathing it in. We got a call in December2019 it was ready for pick up when we walked in I could smell the mold it was still leaking when the lights were turned on you could still see the black mold under the linoleum and water was still coming in from both middle slides. Now the island has damage as well as the heater area and the carpet under the seats was soaked too. So its been sitting now we start the process again on waiting for parts. I wasn't issued another camper I pay well over $350 a month for something we cant use were in January 2020 and there's no telling when we will get it back and what kind of damage and mold we cant see! Bought our 5th wheel here. Unlike Lazydays when you purchase it, you are given an hour tour of how things work and you don't stay for a couple days to make sure there are no issues. (Lazydays encourages you to stay on their campsite to make sure there are no issues) First trip to use our 5th wheel the auto leveler wont work so we cant even leave the yard. Called Camping World(CW) and a VERY RUDE female answered and said "nothing we can do, call Forest River" UMM?!?!?! WHAT?@#?$? then says or bring it here so we can look at it..How exactly do you do that if the jacks don't go up?!?!?! Call the manufacture of the auto jacks and he proble solves with us (luckily)and its a fuse. We take it to CW. Service looks at it and says "whoever put this battery used to small of one and it may have burnt out the computer panel" ummm being that we just bought this 77k 5th wheel 2 weeks ago I would go with YOU ALL DID!!!!!!!!!!! So now we haven't even gotten to use it bc it is rotting in there service bay bc we have to wait for warranty to cover THEIR mistake!! I went in to talk to the GM who I obviously was boring to death bc he kept looking at his watch from the moment I sat down and said he would make it right....that was a week ago...still waiting NOTHING!! ***Keep driving to Lazydays folks**** We bought our previous unit from them and so wish we would have this time. Lazydays gives you 14 days of free camping, food card to eat for free while camping, days of walk thrus while staying at there campsite, have a service guy fix it RIGHT THEN, follow up to see how experience was, etc...THIS is service..I don't even know what to call what I am experiencing with this CW. read more

Their service department is terrible! We have had problems after problems with our 2015 Thor KT we bought from Camping World. We make an appointment and it still takes weeks to get work done! Each time you call you get your service technician's voice mail. Takes them days to call you back! We have an extended warranty and they charge you a diagnostic fee for each item they look at, an hour and a half to tell us the generator was low on oil! Our bedroom slideout has a problem with cable, they say warranty covers 10 hours of labor, But it will take them 20 hours to fix it at least! We have to pay $1350.00 for extra labor that Good Sam's warranty won't cover! Of course Camping World sold us this Warranty! read more

The sales person we dealt with was pleasant and knowledgeable. However, the rest of their staff we dealt with is where the problem lies. We left the dealership on a Monday evening. After many hours of negotiation, applications, a test drive, and ultimately a "congratulations on your new RV" from the sales manager and the general manager. We were told our deal was complete and they informed us of the delivery date(Saturday). They also told us to obtain insurance on our new RV(which we did). Tuesday I took our travel trailer we were trading in on the new motor home from the storage facility to our house. We began removing all of our belongings from it. We also had a professional detail company come to clean the unit before we brought it to Camping World as trade/to take delivery of the new unit on Saturday. On Wednesday afternoon we received a phone call from their finance manager explaining they couldn't obtain financing based on the terms we "agreed" upon two days earlier. I questioned several times how they could handle this process this way. The finance managers excuse was the staff I dealt with "was new and inexperienced". Unfortunately that doesn't negate the fact that they have caused me several wasted days and a massive inconvenience. Why would they congratulate us on the purchase of our new RV, tell us to obtain insurance, and let us get to the point of going through all the trouble of taking our existing RV to our house, clean out our belongings, having it detailed, all before obtaining financing?? Needless to say, I will not deal with Camping World in the future for any of our RV repairs, purchases, or referrals. I was happy with my RV purchase from Camping World Ft Myers and went to the local Tampa store for some minor warranty work. Called to make an appointment , it was 10 days from when i called. I dropped off on the scheduled appointment day and 3 weeks later my coach has not been looked at. I filed a complaint last week and was told my coach would be moved into a bay and assigned to a technician that day. Another full week has gone by and nothing. You would be better off buying out of town and traveling back to the dealer of purchase for service, Camping World will not be there for you after the initial sale!!!! read more

put my camper in the shop clear coat was fading bad it was put in sept 22/16 the service person was David manning I felt it was going to be bad from the start and it was till late December he never returned but 2 calls out of roughly 10 to 12 calls never could get a straight answer I understand he was let go. Josue Fernandez then took over my problem with my camper once he got every thing figured out he found the camper put it in painter bay that we still had to wait on 1 decal they was able to start sanding it and put new clear coat its at home now. An excellent job on the nose cap. the 4 stars are going to Josue Fernandez and the painter did not know his name .Josue is the service tech I truly recommend . We went in to buy a camper...being newly retired it is harder to get financing. They asked for proof of income and we explained over and over we were from up north and don't routinely travel with such papers!! We asked them to not run any inquiries because if they needed the paperwork we didn't have it so we didn't want any inquiries showing up on credit history! Well we traveled on and found another dealer willing to work with us she ran a check and was told there were already inquiries from camping world WITHOUT our permission!! We called Adam business manager and he stated oh I only checked three banks!! HE LIED!!!! After researching this we found he ran it through SIX banks that because of his inquiries were now requiring proof of income which normally would not be requested!! He screwed us over and what I love is, he ends his phone calls with have a blessed day then proceeds to LIE!! By the way while at the new dealer someone came in to buy saying campers world had lied to him about what he owed until he sat down to pass papers and they needed more money!! That customer up and left as well!! They lie, add fees at the passing and the owner if you recall does not like selling to trump supporters!!! read more

We arrived 10 minutes before closing so thought we'd be told to come back another day but we were warmly greeted by Chuck! He was happy to see what was available with the criteria we gave. 4 or 5 options were available and he showed them to us, never rushing us. He reassured us that staying late was not a problem. We found one we liked but told him we'd like to come back the next day after we had talked it over. We arrived at the appointed time and met Roxie. Yet another smiling face! After the test drive and a little negotiation, our "new to us" camper was scheduled for delivery the very next day. Detail did a fine job preparing the unit. Our walk through with General was thorough and informative. Our paperwork was handled by Mr Gagliardi in a professional yet relaxed manner. To say we are happy campers is putting it mildly. SERVICE DEPARTMENT - bad, awful customer service, dysfunctional, and very unprofessional. We purchased a 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 23-H new. during the first year and under the factory warranty we had as many as 22 problems with this unit. some minor and other very major. Now after the year is over and "out of the warranty" some of these problems have not been solved. The major ones are: Rain water comes into the house from the driver's side back wheel-well when driving in heavy rain. As a result, the floor boards inside the house are rotted, and continuing to do so. Now some of the floor boards in the bathroom are beginning to rot. Camping World of Tampa has not been able to fix the cause of this problem from day one. We just get the run around and blaming Thor for thing that Camping World of Tampa had been paid a lot of money by Thor to fix the problem (because CWOT does not move a finger with out getting paid by someone no matter if they are responsible for the work and the workmanship or not) read more

Very disgusted with the sales process. My husband and I wanted to trade in and purchase up. The salesmen didn't seem to know much about the unit we wanted to purchase and told us several times he would make more money selling two trailers than the time he had to spend with us on a $130,000+ Thor A unit. We spent a good deal of time looking at units, while the salesman rushed back and forth to the finance manager. We never even got to sit down with a finance manager and were told someone would call us on Monday. We've tried several times to get the status of the loan, with no luck. Not even a courtesy call to tell us they're working on it. When we purchased our other RV elsewhere, the deal was done in 2 hours. Any auto we've purchased, 2-3 hours. Obviously they don't want our business so we will go elsewhere. If this is the way they treat customers, I can't even imagine what the service department is like. read more
