Sorry to see the negative reviews. Am a local and have been doing business with them through three fifth wheel RVs and many years. Mike Beasley is the head of the service department, has very solid experience, and is a solid supervisor. What I do see is difficulties at times getting parts regardless of manufactuer, seasonal busy times affecting appointments, some employee turnover caused primarily by cyclical changes in the industry which impacts experience on the job and expectations that repairs will necessarily can be prompt. In some cases, since this location does not sell all company brands, this may contribut to a prompt fix. Emergency fixes can be problematic regardless of the RV dealer. read more

Today, I was pleasantly surprised when we were driving down the 70 with full gray and black tanks and no freshwater. The associate I spoke to on the phone informed me that it was acceptable to come in and dump and was uncertain about the availability of freshwater. The dump was straightforward. While some water spigots were malfunctioning, we were able to overcome this issue with the assistance of a 50-foot hose. With such reliable and convenient service, I would undoubtedly do business with them in the future. read more

Went in today to have some things looked at and fixed on the Small Motorhome that we purchased. We met with OZ who couldn't have been better to work with. He went down our list item by item, explained how to handle some and made sure the others got fixed. I can't say enough good things about the follow up. Just wanna say..I was there last evening and walked out.. With the heat wave we are having 100+ degrees that place had NO! air conditioning I had to walk out that's ridiculous and the poor workers ... I would not put up with it. To treat the workers like that. Especially out in the garage area too. Man! I get its a garage but they could do more for them ..Especially being a well known Christian company that they are doesn't really say a lot for them! I'm sure their competitors don't treat their employees like that let alone customers ...Very disappointed..they wont get my business until its fixed. Guys you need to step it up! I took my travel trailer there to get washed. When I picked it up I noticed the roof of the trailer was still dirty. I was informed by an associate that I had to purchase the roof maintenance to get the roof cleaned at a cost of $499.00. SERIOUSLY! I ordered a part for my refrigerator when I got home I noticed I was charged $39 for the Good Sam subscription. I called them back to order another part the guy on the phone said it would save me on the next part so I ordered the part. I told him I would talk to them about the Good Sam description when I picked up the new part. I spoke to Robert about the $39 I was charged. He said he could find it in the system. I showed him the receipt that was emailed to me which clearly shows the charge for the Good Sam annual subscription. He didn't try to reimburse me. When he entered the invoice for the new part he tried to charge me $39 for the Good Sam subscription again. He was able to get the charge taken off. The only reason I buy parts or anything else from camping world is because they are on available anywhere else. read more

Do NOT come here for service! Came for inspection of water system on motorhome because pump was short cycling periodically. They checked for leaks and found none, but determined that the pump had water back flow. I couldn't afford $570 to replaces I asked them to put it back together, and I would come back another time. That night, I found I had no hot water. I figured it out...the tech left valve in closed position. No big deal. Next day, I was out all day, but when I turned on the pump to wash dishes, I started having a water puddle accumulate in the bathroom. Turned off the pump and wiped it up. Within 5 minutes, it was back. This kept going on so I did some investigating. Turns out that there is a massive leak at the pump now. Refrained from using water except when necessary and went back when they opened this morning. Was told that technician was off, but nothing he did should have caused the problem, so the only solution offered was that they would be happy to replace the pump and fix the leak. Note that the pump didn't leak before they touched it, so why would I pay $500 to have them correct the problem they caused? Now I have a soaked compartment and bathroom wall where water has wicked up, as well as trim that has come unglued. Update...replaced the pump myself for $82. Found that the fitting flange on the inlet was not installed. It was lying in the compartment, apparently having fallen out during diagnostics. read more

I'd like to give a shout out and review on my experience purchasing an RV from Camping World of Columbia MO. I was trading in a 4 year old rv for a smaller newer model. My sales person, Scott Weaver, was very good to work with. I never felt like he was BSing me or giving me the run around. I was able to do the majority of the negotiation over email as I was from out of town and didnt have time to come to the dealership multiple times. Scott was great to work with and an easy person to talk to. He wasn't forceful or overbearing in his sales tactics. When I went to sign papers and take possession of the new RV, Jacob was the tech who explained all of the features of the new camper. He was professional and thorough. He asked several times if I had any questions. He stopped and fixed a minor issue with a drawer right then instead of brushing it off for someone else to do. At closing and signing of papers , Josh was helpful and professional. He explained everything that was being signed and took interest in me personally. Overall a very positive experience. I would never recommend this or any camping world to buy an RV. I bought a brand new 2022 Zinger and took it camping the first season. At the end of the season, I took the camper in for warranty work. There was a long list of things to be repaired, they had my camper from October to January. They charged us to winterize a camper that sat on their lot...huh? but anyway during this time we called several times to check on the camper. The only time they called us with an update was when a forklift driver hit out camper and did damage to it. When we finally received our camper back, it was in worse shape than when it went it. The front door no longer shut, they broke the trim in the bedroom and just left it in the floor, left staples and screws on the floor, the shower was not fixed from the leak and the wall was still warped. We attempted to get these things fixed at the location in Wentzville but were told it was not covered under warranty any longer and they charged us over $500 to look at each complaint ($95 diagnostic fee for each item looked at) one of which was the outdoor refrigerator which they said is mounted correctly...dude seriously? I spoke with the service manager at Wentzville about these ridiculous charges, he agreed to use the money I paid to get my camper back after they had it for a month to clean and reseal the roof. The first trip out after finally getting the camper back....the roof leaked! As in pouring water in the front bedroom all over my bed, ruining a brand new mattress. I had finally had enough and on the way home, stopped and traded the camper on another one at a different dealer. This was in June 2024, I called Camping World and asked for the remainder of my warranties that I bought to be refunded. I have called 12 times, every time they promise a call back only to receive none from anyone. We have filled out their required paperwork to receive the refund..yet look no refund has been issued. It is a pro rated refund so every month that goes by I am to receive less. We are in month 5 of me trying and calling to get a refund. My recommendation is to get a camper that has been smashed to bits and try to rebuild it rather than deal with Camping World. read more

Scott, Jesse, Josh, Doug and Robert were all great to work with. They understand a RV is a want and not a need, and if it was just them it would be a 5 star review. Unfortunately, it is the care after the sale that drags the review down. I had them install a solar package for me and the delay in getting that done was unacceptable. I understand shipping times, which raises a question as with solar so popular in RV's why they do not have that in stock, but TWO weeks from completing the sale to delivery for an in-stock RV is simply not acceptable. I honestly could have ordered the same package and done it quicker. And what's the deal with having to make an appointment to take delivery? I should be able to go in when it is convenient to me not to them. I am planning to buy another 500 to 600 dollars in accessories, but at this point they lost those sales and I'll buy the accessories else where. read more

Brought my RV to Columbia camping world (where I purchased the unit) when brand new for multiple reasons, one was intermittent problems with the furnace. After diagnostics, they determined it was air in the line. The problem continued to happen. The furnace will light, stop, light, stop about 5 times, and then run continuously. Finally this fall (2 years old) the light, stop, light, stop continued indefinitely. Upon further investigation, they found the furnace had a kinked hose and now will be charging me OVER $500 to fix the problem as it is out of warranty! They WERE trying to get it covered by the manufacturer, but the issue is their incompetent service personnel were unable to find the problem initially and told me it was air in the lines! I had the same issue with my wifi antenna, I heard something loose as I drove down the road in the antenna and informed them. They told me it was fine, it was just a few nuts and bolts rolling around in the bottom. shortly after it was out of warranty it ceased to function completely! They charged me $250 to change 2 quarts of oil in a generator! They charged me $100 to "diagnose" a strip light under the awning that only had 5 remaining working bulbs. The strip light was obviously defective, there was no diagnosis, and they did not even touch it. I only asked them to find a replacement which they were unable without replacing the entire awning, which I am NOT going to do. Yet, charged me $100 for doing not one single thing. Amazing customer service! After reviewing the website, I got almost immediate contact with a salesman who surpassed my expectations to include FaceTiming to show me extra facets, not included in the pictures and make sure I had everything I needed to know before I even approached the store. Once inside the store, literally every single person from the reception desk, to finance, to the retail store was friendly and made sure I had what I needed! This business has a great number of salesmen, receptionists, service writers and other employees sitting and wandering around BUT the service techs are few and far between. We came at 9:40 a.m. for an oil and filter change appointment at 10:00. We have now waited for almost TWO hours to get this done!!! We have a 25 ft Class C Freedom Elite we bought at Camping World in Roanoke, VA in September 2013. It has been serviced by CW whenever possible. (We live in VT where there are none). Skip campers world for service ,couple miles down i-70 is commercial RV , for actual service , on the road or in a Walmart parking lot . Campers world does not offer roadside services. Additional comment after response . My problem is when you are broke down and you ask about roadside service , your service desk says " there's no one in this area that does service calls" You can just bring your RV in here and get on the list . Only to find out that right down the road Commercial RV does mobile service calls , always has , and Campers world know it . We bought a Class A motorhome from Gander RV in Columbia, MO. We signed financing paperwork and they took my money for the down payment. We waited weeks for them to get the RV ready and was told that it would be ready to go for us to come pickup only to be told the day of pickup 15 minutes before we were going to leave that they don't have a title for the RV so we can't come get it now. How do you not have a title for a vehicle that is on your dealership lot? We spoke with their corporate office and was told we would get a call back to discuss things further. Never got a call back from their corporate office either. Then it took 3 days for them to refund our money back in full when I was told it would be refunded immediately. I bought a brand new Camper from them that was a lemon. Had problems before it was even pulled off the lot that they discovered. Continued to notice things going wrong so called and spoke to the manager. Who said "I hear you want a nicer camper" no sir I like the camper I picked but I would like for everything to work like it should. Purchased a new Montana Fifth wheel from Gander RV, Columbia, MO. The salesman was Ok. The real issue was delivery of the RV. The wife and I gave Gander RV 4 business days to prepare the trailer for delivery, we live 5 1/2 hours away in Illinois. We also requested that our trade in trailer to be parked closely so we could transfer our belongings to the new trailer. None of this was done upon our arrival and we were late for our appointment. This meant they had an extra half day to prep the unit, so 4.5 days to get the new trailer done and setup or trade in for transfer. I was in constant communication with our salesman and he was aware of us running late. When we arrived to the dealership there main concern was getting financing done first, then a walk through of the trailer with technician. The wife and I wanted to transfer our belongings first, it was extremely hot that day, then sign the financing. I believe this was a stall technique, because the trailer wasn't ready. I insisted transferring first and threatened to cancel the sale. Immediately they started working on getting a technician to assist us. The salesmen then gave us the excuse that a technician want available for the mandatory walk through with a "Qualified Technician" of the RV for inspection. After waiting for 15 to 30 minutes we were walked out to our new and old trailer. Here I found a tech still installing the batteries to RV. We began the walk through and found several issues wrong but they were "surprised" to find issues with the trailer. The technician couldn't even answer a simple question on how to winterize the residential fridge. There definition of qualified must be different than mine. Of course the management team was apologetic and would resolve all the issues. The biggest gripe is setting a time and date for delivery of a product just to be ignored and then get the attention when called out on there conduct of business. I have fought with the wiring problems on my Outback/Scamp pair for four years and with nothing but confusion and excuses from the Subaru dealer and other RV shops. We bought our 2018 Heartland Mallard at Camping World in Strafford, Missouri and always take it back there for service. We are now out of warranty, but still under our extended warranty. We had an issue with the seals around all three slides. We brought it in and Kami Lile,our Service Rep, made sure the slide seals were replaced and installed correctly and followed up with us to be sure we were happy with the repairs. I would have thought if you tell a place you want your camper fully gone through and all issues fix and then have $8000 worth of repair work done they would be interested in keeping you happy so you would come back! But no! Not this place. We told Bobby we wanted a place we could rely on to treat us right and we would be a loyal customer. But I guess that isn't important here. Wish we would have done our homework before taking our RV to this place! And I guess now we should have seen the writing on the wall when we had to bring it back in to get done what we asked for on the first visit. After all this and they denied having replaced a trim piece with the wrong size piece when it failed. I would give them a 0 stars if possible. We are involved in a 3 month battle over a used 5th wheel we purchased. We selected our 5th wheel July 3rd. We scheduled a return visit 3 weeks later (July 25th) to allow time for repairs, do the paperwork, get the hitch installed and take delivery. We arrived at 12 and didn't leave until 6:00 and weren't told until 5:00 that the hitch installer was sick so no hitch install means we could not leave with the camper. I had to take off the following Friday (July 31), to get the hitch installed and pick up the camper. I arrived around noon and didn't leave until 6:30. There were several repairs that were supposed to be completed prior to finalizing the deal, that were not completed. Additionally I have a short bed truck and the deal included an automatic sliding hitch. They installed a manual sliding hitch and I was supposed to be towing the camper to a campground for a weekend get away and to do a shake out. I was told to use the manual hitch until mine could be ordered and they would switch it out later. Keep in mind they had 4 weeks at this point to have made repairs and get in the correct hitch! I ended up taking the camper back for repairs August 25th after I contacted corporate with my complaint, and the Columbia, MO store appeared to be taking steps to make things right. I am too honest and expect the same from others because I'm still getting the run around. I just sent another email to the contact at corporate because I'm getting the run around and the Columbia, MO service department is wanting me to pay for broken roof vents that they were supposed to fix in July. Now I'm stuck, I have no camper, the wrong hitch and most likely am not going to be able to take our scheduled vacation at the end of September because our camper has been back at the shop since August 25th with no movement on repairs. I cannot recommend anyone even people I dislike the most, to go to Gander RV in Columbia, MO. I don't know if it is this dealer only, or a universal company wide dishonest and deceitful business practice. Who knows how long my issue will play out at this point, but it's been going on for 3 months currently with no end in sight. 9/19/20 Update: In an effort to be 100% fair and open minded. I have reached out to the reply from Gander (below). I will keep my current stance of 0/1 star until such time as my issue is resolved. I will never be going back to a camping world again. Partially my fault for not doing more research before buying my first camper. I got screwed, big time.. paid $42k for a travel trailer that was worth $35k at most. So now I'm stuck with a camper that is worth much less than I owe on it. Oh well, you live and you learn right? But taking advantage of people is pretty shitty. Came back later for a warranty repair. The "fender flare" had cracked and was coming off. Called to get it fixed. We went to this dealership to look at travel trailers. They have to conduct and interview before you can even look. We know exactly what we want, but the salesman was so intent on asking questions and some more that once that he failed. We stood up and left. I don't know how a business stays in business, when the conduct business as this place does. We will NOT return to Camping World for repairs. We took our 5th Wheel in for a full inspection and beginning-of-season service check. They looked it over and said it needed almost $1,000 in repairs. We questioned that but felt we had no choice so as to not break down while on the road. The first time we used the RV a week later, we found there was a problem with the oven, and could tell the stove hadn't even been looked at. There was also a problem with a valve that had not been repaired, as the leak we'd had before the service continued afterward. The inspection was NOT thorough, and their repair prices are outrageously high. (Do they think that because we can "afford" an RV--we're able to shell out the big bucks for repairs??? ... we use our RV for work travel only). We have found a new repair shop for our needed service and repairs. read more

First, i noticed that most of the reviews for this RV dealer are one star. I guess they don't care. Here's another one star review. Took our camper in for several minor repairs that I probably could have done my self. The work they did was very shoddy, no quality control. Instead of fixing a light strip on the canopy that came loose, they cut it off. We raised cane over this, so they replaced the canopy, which was OK. They had the camper for several weeks to do all this work. The first time we went to pick it up, Some of the work was not done and other work was sloppy. They then billed me over $700. This is the last time I will go to these guys for any maintenance or to trade in our camper. Its too bad, because the location is very handy for us and we had bought several campers at this location before they were bought out. I'm easy going, but their incompetence pushed me past my limit. read more

Absolutly the worst shopping experience ive had in a while, went in open minded for a travel trailer came out wishing i would have stayed home and shopped craigslist. Salesman was programmed, whatever came out of his mouth was as bad as a politician, he wouldnt let me finish my question. He also lied about a trade in he was showing me then he told me it was on consignment...floor was soft, awning bad, water damage and he thought it was worth top resale value...he then went from a 14000.00 camper to a upper end unit "hey we finance for 40 years you can afford that cant you ?" After mangling my awning on a tree in Victorville, CA, I worked with the Camping World in Flagstaff [... I was traveling East on I-40] to order parts that were then shipped to this Camping World to be installed when I arrived. They did a great job, were very thorough and did a couple of things that were "above & beyond" simply removing the old and installing the new awning arms & motor. To top it off, they even found... and fixed... an electrical problem with the "shore connection" plug that was entirely outside the scope of this awning repair. THANK YOU, GUYS!
