He was extremely thorough, professional, and knowledgeable each step of the way, and left us feeling well informed of the state of both systems. We would recommend Enviro-Assist for your new home well and septic inspection needs and feel we received a great value for the service performed.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We used them in 2018 to inspect our septic in a new home inspection and…read morerelied on that inspection for the purchase of our new home. Their inspector told us both compartments (liquid and solid) were recently pumped and gave us a diagram of where the solid compartment lid would be, which showed it was just outside of our landscaping bed. The report suggested we get it pumped depending on family size every 3-5 years. Seeing as we had our 1st child in 2020 we attempted to have it pumped in Summer of 2022 (4 years later). After numerous attempts of locating the lid and digging up our front yard it was discovered the solid side lid WAS underneath our landscaping. Which is not what their report indicated. Had we known at the time we could've gotten concessions in our home closing knowing we'd have to rip out landscaping and 20 year old boxwood hedges. In Summer of 2022 we contacted Enviro-Assist and the owner Randall seemed willing and open to review our financial loss hiring contractors and replacing the landscaping which amounted to about $2300-$2500. After numeous attempts he stopped replying to us and even once emailed me saying he has "more emergent things to do" and ours wasn't exactly at the top of his list. We spent countless hours dealing with this and fixing it ourselves and eventually took him to small claims court. Unfortunately the case was dismissed because at that point we were 17 days outside of the 6 year statute of limitations which is our fault. Unfortunately we trusted the owner that he would make good and communicate better and after months of trying I finally gave up. Almost like he "intentionally" did this because he knew the statute was approaching. The judge even cited to him he most likely would have lost the case aside from the statute that saved him. If you don't want to be screwed over financially and deal with someone that doesn't take personally or company accountability then DO NOT use this company.

I purchased a home in Brighton MI about 2 years ago. The owner could not (or would not) tell me…read morewhen the last septic tank service was performed. I decided this year that it was time to get it done. I did LOTS of research on service providers in my area and saw that Hartmans Septic had many positive reviews. I contacted the company via email and Gary (the owner) contacted me back very quickly. Communications were great and he got out to my home on the date agreed and on time. Even though he had difficulty locating the tank cover due to a number of obsticals in his way (a lavender tree, sidewalk, and a really big landscaping rock), he was diligent and found the main cover. The amount of work he performed do do this was truly above and beyond what I expected, yet he didn't charge me any extra at all for all that work. Gary's report on my system was extensive outlining all of the potential issues with septic fields, and showing the results of his inspection (before, during and after pumping). I am certain that many "professionals" would have simply come, dug up and removed the cover (charging me extra for the effort), and pumped out the water. Gary took his time mechanically cleaning the tank of all solid and caked on bottom sludge as well as water lancing the tank to ensure it was completely clean. When he was done, he replaced the dirt, the landscape weed barrier and mulch leaving the work area in the exact shape it was when he showed up. Gary took time to go over the inspection results with me as he told me about the many different septic system failures that he has found over the years, and how he checks for these failures in the system. I am a senior engineer and a Navy vet. I really appreciated Gary's knowledge and his great inspection expertise left me with a very good feeling that my home septic system will operate for many many years in the future. All of this was done at a very competitive price. To top it all off, you really couldn't as for a nicer guy to deal with. You really can't go wrong with Hartmans Septic.
