Well attended event!…read more Had a blast at Cambell's Oktoberfest and was impressed by all of the local vendors and business owners who were celebrating in showcasing their businesses with the community. Such a smart way to highlight the hard-working business owners in in the neighborhood. Parking is a little tricky, so be prepared to circle a few times to find a spot or come early. Hats off to the downtown Cambell Chamber of Commerce for throwing such a wonderful event.

We did wish that they had more seating throughout the event. Lots of different local musicians playing on different stages. There is a 5/10k race prior to the start of the event. We signed up for this race and enjoyed our run. The course is out and back and was run on a paved trail. They provided snacks prior to the start of the race and Square Pizza Guys were handing out free pizza sqaures after the race. We will definitely attend these events next year!

The Boogie fest is presented as a music event, and the music this past weekend was definitely a highlight when we visited on Sunday morning. Several different stages spaced out nicely, and great communication online about the set times and locations for each of the bands performing throughout the two-day celebration. We especially enjoyed the sounds of the keyboard and vocals by Connor Morrison, as he filled the air with classic songs like Brown Eyed Girl and Elton John faves. We also found some seats near the central stage where The Jukebox Boyz put on a lively show for the crowd, with their unique renditions of awesome tunes including Come Together by The Beatles, Sweet Home Alabama, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and Billy Joel's My Life, We were only there for a couple of hours, but the music was great! Food options, on the other hand, were limited. We found mostly the typical fried food stands, along with multiple vendors selling sweets (mini donuts, churros, beignets). I tried some chocolate beignets from the "More to Life" dessert stand, and they were were so yummy! Taste and texture were satisfying. I had to get coffee at one of a local cafe, cuz there were no vendors at the event selling my preferred iced beverage. There was definitely beer and wine being sold on site though. While there wasn't much variety in food offerings, we were able to grab some lumpia and a teriyaki chicken & veggie bowl from one of the booths for lunch, and it was pretty good. In addition, merchandise vendors and businesses were selling lots of unique stuff, like totes with charming designs, music equipment, and various handmade products. It didn't take long to explore the various tents while strolling along the festival grounds. We even tried free samples of brisket chips, checked out the caricature artists, and adored the cute kittens of Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. Another laid back and free community event... nothing extraordinary about it, but we appreciated our time here and the organizers who made it all possible.

If you're local, it could be a nice way to spend a few hours. It wasn't heavy music or dancing themes, so I'm not sure why it was designated differently than you're standard art and wine festival. Parking can be found at the nearby city hall/community center grounds for free. Otherwise you're going to be fighting for street or garage parking. It's a one and done-fine but not memorable.

Went for a run at Central Park this past weekend and ended up staying a while to appreciate the…read morescenery and entertainment at the Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival, which included live music, games for kids, art and merchandise booths, and beer and wine for sale. Everyone was in good spirits, a carefree and joyous atmosphere. Not to mention the good eats being offered in the Food Alley, much of it being run by high schoolers. After working up an appetite, I grabbed a funnel cake at the event, but it wasn't like your typical fair food offerings. These funnel cakes were mini-sized, covered in cocoa powdered sugar (optional), and cost only three bucks. Nothing too fancy and not the best quality, but good enough for a snack. Didn't stay long, but I had a good time soaking up the sun and enjoying the musical performances on stage even though the sound quality wasn't ideal. By the way, I don't think the on-site parking is worth the $10 fee. Skip it and park in the neighborhood for free (if you don't mind walking).

Water Lantern Festival is a must, you have to attend at least once and youll be hooked to come…read moreagain and again. What a fun experience this was to create a lanten and then launch it off into the lake. Got our Water lantern Kits and began getting creative on how to decorate our oun indivitual lanters. You get only one marker so its a good idea to be prepared and bring your own markers of you want to have a veriaty of colors. Dawn was upon us and we began to get ready to launch our lanterns. It was biter sweat launching them because it part of the process however part of you wnts to keep it and take it home. I was curiouse as to what happens to them after they are launched and everyone goes home for the night. You do have your deck of cards both playing cards and conversation cards that were fun to keep as your souvenirs. You also get a wrist band and draw sting backpack that comes in a veriety of colors. Ther are lots of food trucks for purshasing food, drinks and treats. Remember to come early if you want to have dibs on a good spot. Bring a picnic blanket and a pictic to share as they do alow outside food and drinks. Also remember to bring a jacket or light sweater as it gets cooler in the earning. Cant wait for next year and bringing the hubs to enjoy a picnic and the Wate Lanters.

Things that can be improved are: More guidance towards timing of when to decorate your lantern and a provided template. They bring people on stage to share, but maybe there should be an anonymous reading as well. I personally would not want to drive through this experience, as it was really fun to immerse ourselves in the colorful lights and fresh air. There are many food trucks, and there are lots of tables to eat at. There was also a juggler for kids entertainment. Another pro: there was a diaper and nursing station for parents. Only suggestion for improving is to have clearer communication regarding shuttle from the park to Netflix (the spot for arrival is different than that for departure). Also, the shuttle line takes quite a while. It is worth reconsidering the shuttle if you go in the evening with small children that have bedtime curfews.

This light show requires purchasing tickets online and choosing a date and time slot so this is not for the spontaneous! The confirmation email was very clear about instructions, how to arrive, etc. And yet, we still saw several cars with headlights on (you turn them off after driving in). We picked the first time slot of 6 pm so there wasn't any traffic and all the staff make it very easy and clear to enter safely. It took us about 30 minutes to drive through all the light displays and it was magical. There are themed neighborhoods of lights like elves, north pole animals, dinosaurs, garden flowers, and several beautiful arches of lights. It was nice to see so many families with young adults enjoy it, so I think it is for all ages. If the weather isn't bad, you can have your kids stick them selves out of moon roof and windows. There are open restrooms at entrance and at the end. Very family friendly and affordable ($30 per vehicle). Cozy pajamas and blankets optional!

I came here for the Taylor Swift laser show and it was a fun way to spend an hour. It was just fun…read moremusic, lots of screaming kids singing the lyrics, and some cool lasers to look at. I did have to close my eyes a few times to give them a break from all the colorful lights. You can choose where to sit when you come into the planetarium room. The presenter did a good job. Decided to finally check this out as its right across the street from our place. There were a lot…read moreof cars on the street and many people enjoying the sunshine so we figured it would be a fun stroll. Lots of booths selling art, jewelry, and other crafty stuff. I liked the live music with them doing old song to new songs. In terms of food there was 2 food trucks and a bunch of booths. There was Mexican food, funnel cake, Indian food, Chinese Chicken salads, dots, lemonade, etc. This was all free entry so doesn't cost anything to walk around. We decided to get wine and boy that was a rip off but I guess its because it goes to charity. $7 for the wine glass and then another $7 or $9 (premium wine.) So one glass of wine was $14. It was definitely a big pour though. I was really more hoping to have a single glass and do some wine tasting. It was nice to get out of the house but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for this one.
