Not easy to find but worth it! Bar within the Graduate by Hilton, separate elevator takes you straight up to the bar & the view is pretty nice. Fun atmosphere & friendly staff. The drinks were good but overpriced. A o r & done for the experience.

Such a cute spot to send a sunny afternoon. Camp trip is the perfect spot to hangout and play board games with friends. The drinks are solid and have really cute plating. There's lots of game options here and the snack selection is solid-although portions are on the smaller side. Next time I'll definitely need to try the table side s'mores

Camp Trippalindee is hands down one of the best themed bars in Madison. You take the elevator right up to the north woods, summer camp 1988. The outdoor patio is unmatched, unfortunately we weren't able to get out and use the fires this time because of the rain but it's wonderful! The decor is incredible and they have a ton of table games to enjoy. You are able to roast marshmallows indoor or outdoor for s'mores and they even have Adult CapriSuns!!

This is one of my favorite bars in Madison! It has such a unique vibe since it's more obscure, you head up the elevators from a doorway not everyone would notice. There's lots of outdoorsy on the walls and the vibe is similar upstairs at the bar. The drinks are great and the bar food, from what I've had so far, is great! They have a slushy drink on special, as well. Camp Trippalindee also has some games, which honestly, I wish they'd update. I'm sure the local thrift store would have some great games that weren't beat up and worn so badly you can't even play anymore! But still, what a fun and memorable place. This is one of the places that I bring friends who come to visit me in Madison. Special place!

I'm honestly shocked this place has great reviews. Yes, the view is great, the campy theme is great, but it's way overpriced for what is essentially bar food. $7 for a Modelo in a bottle is ridiculous. We got the Southwest bites for $12. They were greasy, the breading was falling off, and the inside was just flavorless cheese, no tasty spices or peppers, etc. After that, we knew we weren't going to eat dinner there. The bartender was very friendly. We will not be back.

Camp trippalindee has a great location and incompetent service. The kitchen was understaffed and it took a long time to receive our order. Our table was dirty and it took a while for anyone to come and clean it. The food itself was ok.

Perfect wisconsin bar! The graduate nailed it for these Wisconsinites. Really cool rooftop bar with plenty of indoor seating as well as a decent sized patio overlooking the lake. They have a smaller specialty cocktail menu and also a full bar. Small tap list. We didn't eat here but looked like their bar food was enjoyed by many. They have Instagram worthy boozy capri suns. Perfect for a summer day! It was a good blend of college students as well as non college students. Not rowdy, a chill spot to enjoy a drink or two. Staff was nice and there were a few TVs to watch sports. We will definitely be back.

This place is all about the cleverly done decor - real kitschy. We spent a lot of time studying the "artwork" and laughing at the memories some of these treasured stirred up. A fun vibe and a great view combined with some nice drinks makes this a worthwhile stop. We avoided some of the problems with the 21 year old crowd that others have mentioned by stopping in during the early evening on a Friday night - we also caught the happy hour special. Some of the regular drink prices were high. We did not eat anything so I cannot comment on the food. Great concept and when warmer it would be good to hang out on their deck.

Camp Trippalindee is where you want to be if you like board games, s'mores, fun drinks, and nice scenic rooftops. I had a chance to check it out and was quite amazed that this place was located right in the middle of Downtown Madison.

Been here a few times and each round has been pretty consistent. The drinks are either quite strong or quite sweet/light, no like happy medium that I'm aware of. The grain bowl is large which is nice for the price you're paying, but I found it a little bland and needed to douse it with Sriracha sauce. The Camp Nachos I liked! They were unique with lots of toppings and in a really cute presentation. It's a great spot with a really nice rooftop area. I love how in depth they went with the camp decor and it's great they have board games and oversized uno cards for you to play with!

Coming across Camp Trippalindee felt like discovering an amazing secret. I'm not sure how this retro summer camp restaurant/bar has been open for so long without tons of reviews and people raving about it. Maybe we should keep it a secret?? First off, the setting of the Graduate Hotel is gorgeous and sets the stage as soon as you enter. The retro lobby setup starts to take you back in time, and by the time you make it upstairs to Camp Trippalindee you've been transported to a 70s/80s summer camp! I love the way that they went all out with the decor. You can sit and then order at the counter... The service was a bit slow at the bar, but the food was up quickly once the orders were placed. The menu has a good selection and is not overwhelmed with choices. There are basics, like yummy-looking burgers and cheese curds with spicy ranch, and also unique options, like the flavorful and filling avocado grain bowl with farro. I loved having the option to splurge or go healthy, and thought the prices were reasonable as well. As far as drinks, there are several beers on tap but the adult boozy Capris (Capri Sun style) really caught my eye! Even if you're not in the mood for an adult bev, check out the clever drink names on the menu (again, they didn't slack staying on theme), and then choose from their selection of non-alcoholic drinks like Wisco Pop and Sprecher's. If the weather's nice, how can you not sit outside? The patio is gorgeously furnished and the fire pits add a lot to the camp theme. Especially if you pick up a $4 s'mores kit. You will end up making friends as you share a fire pit with some neighbors to roast marshmallows and curl up with the blankets that are also provided by Camp Trippalindee! The root beer floats look amazing as well. I can't wait to be back at Camp and relax out on the patio where the Capitol peeps out in the distance. Strongly recommend.

Outdoor patio view of capital at night.

Drinks were decent. Food was good. Atmosphere is amazing. I would come back here every time I come to Madison. Great relaxed vibes. We were outside on a beautiful clear night with views of the capital.

Weary is an eclectic space that is full of a hodgepodge of artwork, mirrors, lighting, decor and a bunch of random items that just make sense together. The vibe here is uniquely local for this part of Madison and from the moment you enter through the large ornate wooden door, you are teleported into a special space where a good time is sure to be had! We have come here for Friday Fish Fry, weekday lunch and weekend brunch, and we have never left unhappy or hungry. The menu is made up of mostly classic dishes such as salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches, with a few mains like steak frites and pork chop. Brunch has your classic brunch dishes such as breakfast plates, biscuits and gravy, burrito and of course, French toast. The fish fry is excellent here, especially the pan fried version, which still provides the light, crisp and fresh fish but less the thick breading. For brunch, the breakfast burrito add sausage was spot on and super tasty! For cocktail, they have a stellar menu of house curated cocktails. For brunch, I went with the Bloody Mary and outside of brunch hours, I gravitate to the Killer Bees Knees gin based cocktail. I will grab a beer on occasion, but the cocktails are too good to pass up! Service is always stellar here whether we are sat in the dining room or bellied up to the bar. Overall, absolutely in love The Weary Traveler Freehouse!

Great Dane Pub has become one of my favorite spots in Madison for a variety of reasons from the drinks, vibes, service and community support! Situated on the corner of Doty and King in downtown Madison, Great Dane is a welcome sight for any visitor or local looking for a chill spot to have a solid drink, tasty bite and/or a good time! The pub is one large space, but it is separated into a few unique areas. One side is quintessential pub with a long bar, lots of dark woods, and a good sized dining room. The other is more of a pool hall vibe where you will find the other side of the bar, several pool tables, lots of TV's, high tops, darts, etc...We have bellied up to both sides of the bar and while I like both sides, I prefer the vibe of the pub side. They have a fairly extensive food menu with several bar/pub classics such as wings, nachos and burgers. But they also offer a good variety of sandwiches, bowls, salads, soups and even tacos. While we are normally here for the drinks, we do enjoy the cheese curds, wings and poutine! Speaking of drinks, they always have a great menu of house cocktails that is constantly updated for seasonality. I have had several iterations of cocktails and since I visit a few times a year, I always get to try new seasonal cocktails and beers! Service is always stellar here, no matter what side of the bar you are on. Welcoming, friendly and helpful...every time! Overall, I am an absolute fan of The Great Dane Pub!

We were in town and looking for a good place to eat and excited to try this joint, with a 4.4 star…read morerating. We've always had good food in Madison and even though we wanted to get home after a long day, we thought it would be worth the delay. Unfortunately, this time, it wasn't worth it. I feel like it's time and money wasted. I'll get to details, but I'm mainly basing this review on the quality of the food I received. Before getting to the food, our service was great. Our server was a bit slow considering there were only 3 tables (including us) occupied. Or it's more of a relaxed atmosphere, so she was just giving us a lot of time to look over the menu. But aside from that, she was friendly, helpful, and kind. Atmosphere is on the dark side. There are two screens to play games (golf, etc) on two corners of the building. I think there are plenty of options, but we were mainly in for food, and didn't really get much info on the games. I did ask whether they were run on a reservation basis, and the hostess (who was also our server) said yes. She didn't mention any pricing, so I'm not sure what the details on that is. Margarita special $5 This was great. Not overly sweet, and just the right amount of booze. It came in a whiskey cup rather than a margarita one. 3sheep chaos pattern on draft Price for draft beer is not cheap, and the beer was great. The glass it came in was super clean, but also warm. I think it just came out of the dishwasher... So clean, but beer glasses should be cold on principle. Wings The description says these are baked, and then fried before tossed in their sauce. The sauce is yummy. The wings are a fairly large size. But I think they forgot to fry it. The skin on the wings weren't at all crispy, but kinda mushy. The meat was well cooked, but also on the dry side. The celery sticks and carrot rings on the side were super fresh and crispy. Blind burger with side salad I ordered it done medium. It came out very well done. For a wagyu, it lacked fat content, and cooked for too long, so it was very dry. We had just hiked 4 hours at Devil's Lake and quite hungry, but I couldn't finish it. Seasoning was great though. And the side salad was also very fresh. Brussels sprouts Something I haven't done in the last 15 years... I had to ask them to redo it. It came out with underdone Brussels. Interestingly, after I asked them to heat it up more for me, it came out perfect, with the right amount of searing on all the cut sides. Overall, it feels like the kitchen was having a bad day and bad timing - wings needed to get in the fryer for longer, burger should've been out of the pan sooner, Brussels should've stayed in longer. For the prices I paid, I expect better food. Especially since the kitchen knows how to fix their stuff! It was like they put 70% into all the dishes until I spoke up. Would I go back? Nope. Not convinced that the 4.4 rating is justified for me.
