I came over from Scotland last year to work as a Camp Counsellor at Camp Marshall. I had never been away from home for a huge length of time, never been to a summer camp and never been to the USA. I very soon discovered that Camp Marshall would become my home away from home just as it is for everyone who works here and the majority of campers who attend. Not every child is going to have the best experience staying away from home as it is daunting and a new experience for them. Over the summer I supported a few children who were homesick in their first or second night at camp but by the end of the week had an absolute blast and said they cannot wait to come back next year! The Camp Marshall experience truly is unique and life-changing. The accommodation and lifestyle may not be the most modern but that's what makes it. The chance to sleep in rustic cabins, be in nature and away from technology was a challenge for me in my first week but it is such a liberating and amazing opportunity. Campers who attend are given a fantastic choice of daily classes which are run by experienced instructors with a passion for their subject. The evening activities are always a success and the organisers take as much care as possible to ensure it suits the needs of every camper. We are all fed three good meals a day and daily routines are important in camp life such as looking after the environment and making sure all campers are staying healthy. From camper to counselor-in-training to counselor Camp Marshall has been a home away from home. Without Camp Marshall I would not be able to say I know people from England, South Africa, New Zealand, Austria, Thailand and China or even have a close friend in Pennsylvania. Camp Marshall has also helped me become outgoing, a leader and able to easily make friends with anyone. Through the classes at Camp Marshall I've also realized that I want to spend the rest of my life focusing on agriculture and working with kids. As a camper Camp Marshall always provided a safe place with food I could never say no to! Even if you are a picky eater you are allowed to bring some of your own food to have during meals, but Camp does make alternate options for those picky eaters. Being in the cabins without technology doesn't exactly seem appealing to a kid, but the friendships they will make and the simple things like staying up late telling stories or learning to make friendship bracelets I promise they will want to go back. If my mom had never sent me to Camp Marshall I don't know who I would have been, but I am very happy with way I've turned out and plan to be. read more

This is the best camp I have ever been to. I recommend it to everyone. The counselors are amazing. There are so many activities to choose from. Challenge-low ropes, swimming, boating, archery, riflery, arts and crafts, home economics, dance, drama, sports and games, survival, farm barn, and so many more. There is a wide range of ages of campers and appropriate programs for each age. Campers are always placed in a cabin with children within 2 years of their own age. Every week has a theme like Spirit week, tropical week, Olympic week, Disney week, etc. And you can look at the weeks theme before signing your child up. Every Wednesday there is an all camp dance with appropriate songs and it is truly magical. This camp separates campers from the outside world. Getting them away from phones and back to nature. We have beautiful forests, lake, river, and fields. You can really feel the magic in the air here. I was an international counsellor from Northern Ireland. My experience at camp was once in a life time, and I couldn't recommend it any more. From senior staff at camp down to every individual counsellor, every one fave their all and put every effort in to making sure children had the best summer in such a positive environment! Great selection of activities to chose from and every day at camp is different. Camp Marshall has different schemes and themes which makes it more enjoyable and unique. I have gone to camp marshal for the last 5 years the cabin are old but that's part of the fun. The food is very good and every night there is a new activity to do. There's a time in the day where you can go swimming or do anything you would like to. There is a place where you can get snacks in case you are hungry after lunch. You have tons of activity's to choose from and are completely spectated from social media.you have a cabin of people that you get to spend the week with and get to know. The counselors know how to handle all sorts of kid and everyday make sure that everyone is taken care of. They also make sure that you sweep every night and make sure no one gets hurt. Been going for years and it's a fantastic experience for kids! The world we live in full of technology and distractions all around us. Camp is a place to leave theese distractions and see the world around us we often don't notice. Camp let's kids explore nature, make new friends and have an incredible experience they'll never forget! I attended Camp Marshall as a cloverbud and went every year afterward as an overnight camper all the way through CIT training. It's a beautiful camp with lots of focus on getting kids up and active and away from technology. They have a wide variety of enriching activities to choose from. From arts and crafts, to swim, to farm, to archery, there is something for everyone to enjoy. I love this camp and recommend it highly to anyone looking for a summer camp. I love Camp Marshall so much. You can swim, boat, shoot arrows, fish, and eat delicious food such as toast and pancakes. They also opened the camp store which lets me buy my favorite snack even while I'm at camp! I can't wait until I become a counselor because they are all so cool here! My favorite counselor is Chase because he is super cool! I'm so happy to be going this year to see my second family. read more

Love this camp and the people here! I've attended 3 past years of this equestrian camp, I've attended numerous shows and I also attend lessons weekly. I have looked for a equestrian program for years now and i am super happy with the progress I've made with Camp Marshall. My only thing is the staff during my week of camp. Camp Marshall is a lovely camp! I have been coming for years, and most counselor's are extremely welcoming. They teach campers responsibility while also having fun! I do recommend that you should bring more self-sufficient campers because the camp is more independent when it comes to instructions. After 2 years at this camp I still stay impressed. This camp is such an amazing experience for the kids, they become so much more mature, and the camp makes them do things for themselves.
