Just follow all the directions on the site carefully and you won't have any issues. They weren't good at replying to emails, but surprisingly they answered their calls and were helpful (they sounded annoyed but still helpful). Only complaint is the lobby area, no place to sit and wait and very small, but I'm sure they have it like that on purpose.

This review is specifically for the direct airport release and does not contain any information…read moreregarding the facilities if your dog has to stay there for a period of time as I have no direct experience with that. First, be prepared for a bit of a trip after your long flight. It's a bit of a walk past the gates, past baggage claim, near the international section of the terminal to get to the Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility. Thankfully, there is a shuttle that gets you pretty close (and then can just go to baggage claim after). And more importantly, and the reason why I am even doing this review, is because of the amazing and helpful staff who met us and the other animals from the plane at our arrival gate and took us through the whole process, showed the best locations for our animals to relieve themselves, and much much more. They made the chaotic first time experience extremely smooth. So thank you, Francis. The Hawaiian process to bring an animal here may seem daunting, stressful, and pricy. But they are doing their part to keep the island rabies free. Also, unlike many other places, while the requirements list is long and complicated, their website is extremely clear and easy to follow. Yes, you'll have to do multiple trips to your vet, do various very specific testing, procure documents and get original signatures (no scans or copies), but at least it wasn't convoluted and unclear. It can be a lengthy process but it's for a good cause and most importantly, the final step was made smoother and made the overall experience great having Francis assist us on the final leg of the journey.

Ridiculous to find a long line that snaked out into the stairwell. This long line is for everyone with an appointment and not. This was changed from having 2 separate lines and the genius power to be decided to change to 1 line! An employee with a clipboard would come out to check everyone for their purpose of being in line. Because I had an appointment made with their online Aloha Q, he pulled me out, looked at my application and gave me a number. I then proceeded to the waiting area at 10:44am and, finally, was seen around 11:10am! Although, I brought my birth certificate, 2 proof of residency, eye check certificate from my optometrist so I don't have to get my eyes checked with their icky eyes check machine and current driver license, I was told unless I had changed my address or name, I only needed my current driver license, money to pay the fee and my eyes checked certificate! Oh, if you're already a registered voter, you do not need to re register by completing the application that's attached to the renewal driver license application! What! Grrrrr... Both the employee who took my application, current driver license and the employee who my fingerprints and photo were knowledgeable. pleasant and friendly. Now, I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my permanent driver license to arrive by mail. WOW...what an ordeal! Like having your teeth pulled and happy it was pulled...lol...

I received a notice that my driver's license was going to expire in 6 months, so I went to the…read moreAloha Q website to make an appointment. The closest satellite city hall to me had an appointment available in 4 months, so I opted for Pearlridge which was only a 2 month wait. I arrived at the mall a few minutes early and parked by Ross wanting to walk through the store to get into the mall. However, Ross wasn't open until 9am, so I waited there. When they opened, the worker let everyone know that the inside gate to the mall wouldn't be open because the mall didn't open until 10am. I thought that was strange so I checked my appointment time and verified that it was before 10am. I went to a different entrance and there was a line of people waiting too. Luckily, someone came out of the mall and someone else grabbed the door before it shut and everyone walked in and headed up to the satellite city hall. When I got to the entrance, the worker asked me if I had an appointment. I confirmed it with the info on my phone. Then she asked me if I filled out the paper application and brought it with me. I didn't know about that so she hands me a clipboard and I fill it out before heading up to the window. At least a half dozen other people behind me also did not fill out the application either. Everything else went smoothly and quickly, so yay. I asked the worker at the window how I was supposed to get in if the mall didn't open until 10am. She said I was supposed to go to the door by the monorail on the Macy's side of the mall. After hearing and experiencing all of this, I went back on the Aloha Q website to see how I missed all this information. The appointment before mall hours info was indeed there, but only a short blurb BEFORE you start getting into the appointment process. Also, I didn't go through the entire process to see where they were supposed to tell me to fill out the paper application beforehand. I do believe that the all the necessary information is there, BUT, due to the large amount of people that I saw making the same mistakes that I did, plus some reviews I've read on Yelp after the fact, I think the City needs to think of different ways to get this information across to people. I'm not sure if there was some glitch in the system when I made my appointment, but I received no email confirmation or instructions. Luckily, I had made a screenshot of my appointment date and time so I knew when to go. That, coupled with the fact that my appointment was made 2 months prior, and there was no way I'd remember anything anyways with no email confirmation close to my appointment date. Anyways, TLDR: Special entrance by monorail for appointments before 10am. Fill out your application ahead of time for driver's license renewals. Otherwise, pretty good service.

Friend told immigration he is taking me around sight seeing at Point Roberts. Immigration asked if I am from somewhere else and if I have seen trees and gas station. After crossing the boarder, now I know what he means. Yes only one supermarket, couple gas station and a bunch of trees. You basically see one part of PR and you basically see all parts. So most people who come here for the purpose of picking their package and filling up gas. Its weird how at gas station they have price listed in liters. I had to ask my friend about this. They said its for convenience of the Canadian. Prices here are higher than Blaine or just USA Mainland. On top of it, you can only do so much here. I think I still prefers going to the USA Mainland/ Blaine than here. But I have to say they do have a nice park. Go on nice sunny days.

Thanks to some cartographers not doing their homework in the 1800s, this little enclave is the perfect way to get around the legalities of international shipping. As a result, there are lineups like crazy on Saturdays, as most package holding places aren't open on Sunday. Tips for getting to your package faster: a) Park on the street just before the border (Diefenbaker Park comes to mind), then walk across. You can see a mass exodus of people pulling dollies and wagons here. Quite hilarious, and there's a ton of parking. Customs is super quick when you're a walk-in as it's obvious you aren't stashing that new laptop in your jacket. b) If you are going across to MAIL a package (ie sell something), then the flat rate is $11USD per vehicle, regardless of the value of what you're selling. Something to keep in mind. I found this out the hard way once. However this doesn't apply to.. *drum roll* walk-ins. Again, the dolly/wagon wins. I've taken advantage of this piece of land several times, and each time the officers were very courteous. Totally wish I could say the same for Blaine. It's like they send all the nice ones here.
