From the very beginning, we had close supervision and training, the workouts were scaled to meet our abilities, and our questions were answered with professionalism and clarity. Now that we have been going for over 2 years, the physical changes we have seen are astounding - we can chase our kids without getting winded, we have lost nearly 80 pounds combined, purchased a new wardrobe, we've hit all kinds of fitness goals - I even rowed an entire marathon! Plus, our oldest boy, who is now 10 has joined in the workouts. Before too long he'll be out performing both of us with no problem! I highly recommend CrossFit Garland.

He contacted me right away and welcomed me to his gym. I was able to get 2 awesome workouts in (Friday morning 6am and Saturday morning 9am). Mark was our coach both times and he did a great job of keeping the workouts fun, challenging and interactive. He also made sure that everyone had proper technique and gave me several excellent tips. The other crossfitters were also super friendly and encouraging towards me, and one another, throughout the workouts and made me feel immediately at home. There was good mix of different ages, genders and skill levels, and the coaches were able to scale workouts, so that everyone at every level was able to participate and have an awesome workout. -If you live in the area or if you are visiting and want to get a drop-in class in I would definitely recommend CFG!

The place was clean including the ladies locker area which had separate privacy stalls for changing clothes in the shower area. Which I considered to be a well thought out bonus. That way one could place their gear in the clothes changing stall, step across the aisle to shower, and when done showering step back over to the changing stall where it is dry, spacious and private. Couple of notes - The tanning bed is an older model but it did work. This location has the usual 30 minute workout area, plus another area called the 12 minute Ab workout!

They have a kids club and offer swimming lessons for children. Showers are mediocre. They have cheap curtains, soap dispensers, full of body wash (no shampoo or conditioner, no towel service) and the showerheads are kind of janky. Instructors Al and Vanessa are professional fighters who genuinely motivate you to get in shape and inspire you to be stronger. Working out is hard, but his class is so dynamic you'll find yourself doing more than you thought you were capable of. The benefits of these workouts keep me from being a couch potato. Other students I've partnered with have all been patient and friendly, which has made me feel like part of a team. If you're searching for a martial art that will teach you self-defense, discipline, and exercise while getting fit, you'll find it here. It didn't matter - the system they use makes it so you can participate at a level that works for you from day 1. I have worked with a lot of sports coaches and trainers over the years and the entire staff's ability to observe skill & technique, make recommendations, and motivate appropriately for each individual is top notch. My wife does not have a exercise background and really benefited from getting a solid fitness foundation and enjoyment in "working out" from coach Justin. Their gyms are sectioned off into different workout areas so that you can concentrate on different parts of the body or if you are in a rush you can grab a quick workout in the 30-minute workout room with less crowds. With a Black Card membership you also get access to their workout videos that you can air drop to your smart TV. These are great for when you don't want to get out in bad weather or just want to start your workouts in the privacy of your own home. I absolutely love the hydro-massage lounge chairs that come with Black Card membership. They sooth sore muscles after a long workout. And plenty of cleaning supplies in the rooms so you can wipe down loungers before and after use. They also have red light therapy and tanning booths for Black Card members. PF gyms are always clean and have sanitizing sprays and paper towel bins throughout gym so you can quickly clean off machines. Their bathrooms are always tidy and kept fresh. I think the icing on the cake with a Black Card membership is that you can always bring one guest with you AND you can workout at any Planet Fitness in the U.S!!! I travel from Florida to Texas three times a year and it's great that I can go to any Planet Fitness in either state. I will say the Duck Creek location parking lot is not in great of condition and I would ask that PF apply a little pressure to get it updated. In addition this location is still undergoing repairs in couple of rooms due to heavy rain leaks. It has been a couple of months and I suspect budget cuts but the machines are still in use and there is still plenty of room in the gym to move through machines. I've been a member of a few other gyms in both Texas and Florida and despite these (minor) setbacks, PF to me is one of the better ones. Give them a try.... No contracts!!!
