This place is absolutely wonderful!…read more The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club provides quality, affordable, inclusive childcare and extra curricular activities for the neighborhood and beyond. My son attended daycare/preschool here at Little Inspirations. It was absolutely wonderful. Staff was fantastic, programming was outstanding, the meals were homemade and smelled amazing. Exactly what you would dream to get from any place for your little one. We attended Tot Lot and Nature Club, both aimed at toddlers. Both fantastic. My son is mad every Wednesday now because he has to go to Kindergarten instead of doing more Nature Club. We do afterschool care a couple days a week, and also sometimes send my son for the school vacation day programs. (It is so incredibly helpful to be able to sign him up for fun programming on week days when their is no school! And luckily it's fun enough that he doesn't complain about going!) I as a parent have done caregiver fitness classes (I really need to start going again!!!!) I have also played badminton.

I am sure it is a fun place that encourages kids to be active and engage in team work. Please check it out! It can be sometimes 'crawling' with politicians (years ago I saw Toni Preckwinkle) and today was no exception, Ald Sophie King was behind the grill, but I spotted Bears legend OTIS WILSON! I got a pic with him too! The breakfast was well organized, in the gymnasium, with stations for pancakes, coffee/tea, blueberries/whipped cream/syrup, and bacon/sausages.

Also here is one basketball court, which parents do not like being used when their kids are playing baseball/softball. When there aren't games bring played, you'll see the neighborhood dog owners out and about. The families will have their kids out in the playground in the good weather which was upgraded in 2013. Not much to this park, but it's nestled in a relatively quiet neighborhood in Bridgeport partly because of the one way streets. Nice for the family and kiddos.

The new studio is fabulous! Clean, spacious, and includes locker rooms!…read more I've taken a four classes and really enjoyed half of them. Strength and Stretch was enjoyable and challenging. The instructor/owner Pia was warm, helpful, and constructed a great class with good flow and great music. She even spent time correcting postures and helping push people further into stretches. I loved that. Yoga Sculpt also had a fabulous instructor. I was the only one in the class, so I ended up with a private lesson and she did a regular yoga class for me when I expressed an interest. Super sweet as well. The Jazz/Ballet classes I've taken were taught by a sub who I wasn't a big fan of. He had a little trouble with the flow of class, ballet ended after the jump combination. We never made it out of the center of the room, no grand allegro, which is the best part of the class. For beginning/intermediate jazz the combination was way too easy and short. I would recommend going up a level from the classes you take elsewhere. But Intrigue is a great dance studio and I love their new location. They just posted their fall schedule and the adult classes are aplenty, at least 4-5 a day. Can't wait for them to start September 4th!

This review is for the Adult classes, specifically the ballet class. When I first started going it…read morewas a monthly fee for 2 classes of your choice. It then moved to 1 class for the monthly fee. This is a little pricey considering the fees for the other studios in the area that offer adult classes. If you took ballet as a child and want to get back into it and grow, I would not recommend this studio. The training of the teachers they select for this class is wishy washy. Sometimes they have teachers that are professionals or former professional dancers, which is great. Sometimes they have teachers that trained as a dancer so they took ballet classes, but ballet isn't their thing, or in the case of 1 person they would use to sub doesn't even like ballet. I signed up for ballet. I don't want a hip hop fusion or jazz, but ballet. There doesn't seem to be any mentoring of the younger teachers so they can grow and develop. I don't see the younger students exhibiting studio etiquette. Also not sure if it's even taught to them. When I was a young student, when the class ended, you needed to gather your things and leave and the class helpers made sure you were with your parent/guardian. There's a lot of lingering so the next class starts very late, but still ends on time, so we are cheated out of time and money. They also need to be more transparent on their money practices. They would sometimes randomly cancel class or breaks in the middle of the month, with no mention of giving a credit unless you specifically call or email to inquire. If you don't inquire, they have no intentions on offering a remedy.

Thank you for being the most amazing place ever!! We came to D2D in an urgent situation, I walked in with my 4 month old son, and immediately felt as if I was at home. To see an incredible diverse group of children in every single classroom made my heart smile. My son has been at Detour since Oct. and he smiles as he sees his teachers. The women who care for my son are like mothers to him while I am away. They support me with questions I have and my kid is learning so much from being with his teachers everyday. I can't thank you enough Detour for the amazing experience you are providing my son!

My daughter started there at 3 months in the baby class, and progressed through 3 rooms, to the 2 year classroom. Ms. Kenecia, Ms. Jackie, Amr, Ms Gladys, and Ms.Charlotte who care for babies up to 2 years are all fantastic. Loving, attentive, caring and communicative. We never had an issue until we arrived at the 2 year old classroom, and experienced two instances of neglect and verbal abuse of our daughter. We addressed the first incident with the director, and a teacher was moved out of the room. Then, we continued to see new teachers in our kids classroom and they'd never introduce themselves and we were never notified. Multiple parents voiced concerns, we started to have teacher bios printed on the doors, but those would not cover the revolving door of additional teachers we'd see every week. Some days we'd drop our daughter off and there was 2 teachers for multiple classrooms at 830a, nearly an hour after they opened. The last straw was another parent alerting us to a teacher yelling at our child outside and telling her to "shut up" and "stop crying" and that "she was the problem." She's 2 years old! We, along with many parents, reached out to the director following this and though she verbally communicated her apology, she did not speak to either the teacher who yelled at my daughter nor the teacher that was present. We've reached out to the regional manager to also voice our concerns but made the decision to pull our daughter out of the school because at this point we are concerned for her wellbeing. Parents beware.
