It's like 100 degrees and they are just stuck in these kennels. I have seen reviews saying their dogs have burns on there elbows and body. There's your answer ladies and gentlemen. Also, saw one review that said they didn't give their dog the right dosage of medication. UMM... WHAT?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT A GUARANTEE? I'm begging you. Don't go here. I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE boarding my dog at this so called Kennel, 'Camp Diggy Bones', in Lavon TX. He was there 2 nights and 3 days, unfortunately. When I picked him up Sunday afternoon the first thing I noticed was he was Lethargic, Extremely Hot, Thirsty and Bleeding! When I told Tony, the Owner's Father, who I had been dealing with, his comment was; "Maybe you shouldn't bring him back here" YA THINK?! I called the owner of 'Camp Diggy Bones', Gene Mason, which is also the owner of 'Could Nine Pet Resort' in Wylie. I told him I just picked up my dog, He was Hot/Thirsty/Bleeding and I was Not Happy!! He said he would check into it and call me back. Never Happened! That was a week ago. On Further inspection, when we got home, I found his left eye was Cut, he had Open Sores and Burns on Both Elbows, Apparently from laying on Hot Concrete!!, and he was Very Hungry. We got home at 4:45 p.m., he had Diarrhea 4 times by 5:30 p.m. After spending $244.00 at the Urgent Care Veterinary Clinic on Sunday and $75.00 at my regular Veterinary on Monday, and finding out he had lost 3 pounds, I Thank God he is going to be okay. This has been Extremely Stressful for Him and Me! I have never experienced anything as CRUEL/UNCARING/INCOMPETENT and UNPROFESSIONAL!! We have used this kennel twice. We picked up our two large dogs the first time and our boxer was skinnier compared to when we dropped him off, but they could be due to anxiety. When we picked up our two large dogs the second tie, my labradoodle was favoring his tail. He will not let us near his tail and moans if he touch it to examine. My labradoodle already has had anxiety and trust issues in the past and to pick him up with an injury is extremely concerning. We trust these people to take great care of our pets when we are gone. We will NOT be returning to this kennel. read more

Our dogs love this place and always come home In great shape and happy. We have used them 10-15 times in the last 2 years and the only problem is their paper files. It's a little more rustic than some but the price is right We will keep coming back for sure read more

I used to tell everyone about this place b/c how good they would take care of the dogs and their clients, but today's experience has just turned me off to look for another place. They didn't give my dogs the proper dosage on their medication even tho I had written it down in a care sheet I provided for them and also on a baggy. When I asked about it, they told me that bc a particular person wasn't there on the weekends to make sure medications were given, and MEDICATIONS WAS NOT A GUARANTEE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? you can't guarantee meds i'm asking you to give to my dogs, prescribed by my vet, and i'm paying for you to give to them? So for a dog that needs heart medications for life saving purposes, you can't guarantee that care?? They proceeded to give my money back, but before they did the older man that was holding my dogs told me they could refund my money but my dogs weren't welcome back. Seriously? B/c i complained for a mistake that THEY made? The woman that talked to me (apparently the manager) said that he was wrong and my dogs can return back and something would be done of why the meds weren't given. So while this was going on, my dogs were wet from the guy who sprays downs all the runs and one of my dogs defecated in front of me (informing me they haven't been to the bathroom that morning, and she defecated again once she got home, meaning she's been holding herself for a while). when I brought them home, they were so insanely thirsty (2 large bowls they drank) which tells me they were most likely not given any water for a lengthy time frame. They were also amped up like crazy (usually when I get them home from boarding, they are so tired and sleepy) and were most likely not let out at all this weekend, just probably stayed in the runs with hardly any water or exercise. I dont know if management was changed and I feel so awful for my dogs to not have good treatment for the 2.5 days i was gone for. I know I got my money back, was told that my dogs were welcomed again, and something would be done about this mistake, and I also do know they have a million other dogs to care for, but after all this and what i was told about medications not being a guarantee, I probably stop bringing my dogs back here and will never refer anyone back here again. read more

The best place for large dogs around. If your dog needs lots of room they have an area made to make your dog comfortable. The manger is especially well tuned to our big guys. We take a Black Mouth Cur, a Ridgeback, and a Redbone Coon Hound there and they love it. The also handle smaller breds and know how to make them feel at home too. read more

This was our first time using this kennel and unfortunately we will not be back. We only used this kennel due to the good reviews I had read and the convenient location, so this is why I decided to actually write a review on my experience. The people that work there couldn't have been more friendly. But my American pitt was not his usual self after spending 4 nights here. Which we have kenneled him before for longer periods at a different kennel and he always comes home happy, tired but always super excited and himself. After picking him up today, he seems more lethargic, his tail has been between his legs since we picked him up, his skin is red and appears very irritated and his testicles yes testicles are very tender and appears to be missing skin, they look like ground raw meat. I'm not sure what happened but I do know my dog hasn't been himself since he came home. We won't be returning. read more

My friend Amy highly recommended Camp Diggy Bones. I do pet rescue / foster and was concerned about boarding my seven animals; because I have a great dane, one blind dog and an extra small Chihuahua who require individual attention. I toured their facilities and met their staff a week before my trip. Everyone was extremely nice; the facilities were spacious and clean. The staff took very good care of my pets and followed my instructions to the letter. When I picked up my animals, I was surprised to know they had bathed all of them. Not happy about our most recent stay at CDB. My 90lb pit isn't the same. He use to be energetic and full of life. He came back with red bumps all over his body and his tail had a wound. His personality is GONE. When I called to ask if anything happened to him they told me NO, that they actually DIDNT let him out of kennel the whole time he was there. No play time to run around, NOTHING! Just cooped up in the kennel. I'm so mad at this place! I've left my dog at other boarding places and he always come back happy. Not this time after staying at CDB, he refuses to eat and barley drinks water. I try to play with him and nothing. Very friendly owners and very knowledgeable. Always concerned about your pets welfare. I have boarded here numerous times and just picked my dogs up today after being there 8 nights. Plenty of space and room for the dogs to get exercise. The kennels are clean, covered and suitable for all types of dogs. Our two Pugs and one Bloodhound did great. The dogs got a bath before I arrived to pick them up so they were all clean and excited to see me. I highly recommend this place. If you go there, tell them Sleuth sent you. read more

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! We have been taking our dogs there for a couple of years now and we/they absolutely love it! Even after moving an hour away we still make the drive because there is just no other place like it. Our dogs always come home exhausted from playing and having fun; they also smell great from the wonderful baths they receive. One of my favorite things about this place is that they kennel our dogs together so they're never away from each other and that means a lot to us. The staff is just as nice as can be and always very helpful; they keep a smile on their face even when our enormous dogs are dragging them around. I also love that they know our dogs by name and they're not just another tail to put up with; they honestly care about their customers. I can't say enough good things about the people there. Been using this place for a number of years. They have a great number of kennels so they almost always have an opening. Your dog gets a spacious place to stay and gets play time. They will also bath your dog before you pick him or her up. read more
