I adopted a dog from Camp Cocker (Goose) in early 2023 and it was a top notch experience. Cathy and Erin were both super helpful and it was clear how much they cared for the dogs they rescue! Erin picked up my dog after he was hit by a car and had a broken leg in the Riverside animal hospital where he was placed on the euthanasia list. He was then put through surgery by Camp Cocker and now he's in perfect shape- you would never even know he had a broken leg. He was given a second chance at life by the generosity of Camp Cocker and now my life is changed as well. Camp Cocker is a professional, generous, kindhearted organization where you can feel the love and compassion they have for dogs. I highly recommend!

I would recommend this organization if you are looking to adopt. They take dogs in the worst situations and do everything that it takes to find them great homes. Sadly, most adopters have so many unnecessary requirements looking for perfect dogs that would be 'convenient' for them and I wish people realize all dogs deserve good loving homes no matter their circumstances and be more accommodating to their natural behaviors. Regardless, Camp Cocker accommodates their prospects but also genuinely cares about their pups that I am so appreciative of their rigorous application process. This should tell you that they do not just care about raising funds, they actually make sure the dogs end up in a home they truly deserve. We went through the screening process and they were very straightforward and honest about Mateo whom we adopted back in May. Mateo is a flight risk and so he even came with a tracker and reiterated how important it is for us to keep an eye on him and not get too comfortable letting him run loose. He's an angel and we couldn't be any happier that he's now home with us. Camp Cocker also made the process go smoothly while making sure we are the right parents for Mateo and their foster accommodated meeting us halfway to pick him up. And to this day they are still checking in to make sure he's doing well. I highly recommend this place and encourage you to also donate when you can. They do so much for the dogs that need love and care the most and always provide updates on where your contributions are going.

We adopted Pepe (now Pepper) from Camp Cocker Rescue and they are an absolute joy to work with. They do such great work rescuing these babies in need and they invest so much into them, even those that would never have had a chance are not always the most "desirable" on first appearance. I appreciate your big hearts and your love for the dogs. Thank you for rescuing our amazing Pepper boy and for flying him to us in Seattle. We are so grateful!

It takes a strong heart to do rescue. It takes a keen mind and the ability to build a process, recruit volunteers and create a loving, and safe place. Building a sustainable nonprofit isn't easy. Not even close to easy. It's an all consuming passion. Three of my pups have been Camp Cocker Rescues. The love and devotion given to making the lives of these dogs so much better is praiseworthy. Camp Cocker Rescue has enriched my life by letting me adopt Blossom, Kei and Scout ~ my family. I will forever support their efforts. I know it helps them to make many lives so much better!

Camp Cocker Rescue is the Best rescue I have worked with. My veterinarian stated that he does not know of another rescue that would do so much to complete and fund all the medical issues the dogs have to prepare them for the best chance of adoption. You can tell that Cathy, Erin and the volunteers have a passion in their heart! I can't say enough and highly recommend Camp Cocker Rescue!!!

We are so thankful to have found this rescue. We had been looking to adopt a dog for a few months, and quickly learned not all rescues were the same. We thought we had found a perfect match for us at another LA rescue, but they had a "first come first adopt" process and when someone showed up 20 minutes before us, they adopted the dog to that family! What?! A good rescue should be matching dogs to a family's lifestyle to make the BEST match, not just the first match, and luckily, Camp Cocker does it right! It is clear with their adoption application and phone interview that they are looking to make a forever match, not just get rid of dogs from their care. We were so impressed with Camp Cocker's thorough adoption process, we asked if we could start volunteering for the rescue. Since it is a TRUE non profit, they only have volunteers (no pay whatsoever going to anyone) we wanted to pay it forward for another family looking for their match. This rescue literally pours THOUSANDS of dollars into these dogs that others turn their back on. They even save Korean Meat farm dogs, and pay huge sums to fly them over to give them a second chance, like our pup. How amazing is that. They are angels on Earth! We don't know where we would be without having found our sweet doggie through them. THANK YOU CAMP COCKER RESCUE!

My husband and I rescued Teddy(formerly Jameson) from Camp Cocker 1 month ago. Teddy is doing great and he's loving his new life! Cathy and her crew truly love their dogs and do their best to place them in good homes. Thank you Camp Cocker!

My boyfriend and I adopted our dog Ellie through Camp Cocker a few months ago and feel so incredibly lucky to have found them. This organization is full of amazing volunteers who did SO much for us throughout the adoption process. The love and dedication that drives them to care for these dogs each and every day is truly amazing. Everything they do shows just how passionate and thorough they are and that's because they have the best interests of the dogs at heart. In the future when we have more space, I hope to be able to adopt another dog through them so Ellie has a brother or sister to play with every day. In the meantime, I love keeping up with their social channels and following the stories of all the dogs that are rescued and the lives that are forever changed by this organization. Thank you, Camp Cocker, for everything that you do! The amount of joy you have brought into our lives is immeasurable and we are forever grateful.

My partner and I adopted Mable (now Peach) from them a few months ago. The application process was very thorough (which I liked because it shows the care they take to choose the right home) and everything was explained in detail every step of the way. They've also been checking in since we adopted to Peach and have provided great resources and guidance. They truly care deeply about each and every dog in their rescue. I definitely recommend them if you want to adopt a dog and/or want to support an org that is doing amazing work!

I just would like to know the reason in why the application process alone is so long. I have 2 cocker spaniels of my own with years of experience but it seems whenever I visit camp cocker's website the application process takes longer then any ASPCA?

After losing our previous bunny unexpectedly, which totally wrecked us, we found immense comfort and support through this incredible community of rabbit lovers. Lejla, Jane, and the long-time volunteers are exceptionally knowledgeable about bunny care and wellness, and they truly care about every single animal. Bunnies are not "easy" pets, so having a whole community to lean on and ask questions around the clock makes the world of difference. Because of BWF, I've become a much better caretaker in providing a suitable environment, proper diet, and grooming. Fostering Popcorn and Zoe has been such a joy. It's unfortunate that people tend to overlook REWs (Ruby-Eyed Whites) because of their eyes, but Zoe is brilliant! She's a smart girl who has recently started zooming and binkying the second she hears the fridge open up until you set that nice plate of greens down. While she prefers her enclosure, if you step into her space, she'll happily demand pets and treats. Popcorn is a curious guy who explores the house every day as if it's his first time seeing it yet we can completely trust him not to chew on anything! He earned his name from the hilarious midair body shakes during his binkies, witnessing one will absolutely make your day. He is notorious for his afternoon nap flops as well. Zoe is definitely the dominant one, which means Popcorn grooms her every single day. We can always tell when Zoe tries to return the favor because she's... not great at it. Popcorn ends up looking like he just rolled out of bed! Both of them are incredibly well-behaved, used to being groomed, and will happily sit in your lap for hours during a grooming session. Hopefully Popcorn and Zoe can find their perfect forever home where they will have more space to binky and explore! If you are looking to adopt, foster, or support a rescue that truly knows and cares for rabbits, Bunny World Foundation is an amazing option.

For MLK's Day, LA Works planned a morning at Rosemont Elementary where hundreds of people, most of them a part of their employer company (ex. Volunteers were assigned letters and numbers, then told to report to their assigned tasks. It was all very organized and efficient. They cleaned the computer labs, classrooms, storage room and rec room. Adults and kids alike transformed drab brown walls into a playground of rainbows and sunshine. Snacks, juice and water were available throughout the event. Following, food trucks showed up, some of which were either prepaid by the organization or declined to charge. You can become a volunteer by signing up for an account - and then going through their available search options for projects you would be interested in. I like looking through their calendar for a big picture of their activities. Some projects, like anything that has to do with animals, are hot and fill up faster than others. Clicking on the individual project listing will provide a detailed description and, more importantly, the geographical location/zip code.
