4.5 stars. Camp Bow Wow is a chain business that provides daycare, boarding, grooming, and training for dogs. My husband and I have used this particular Camp Bow Wow in Ross Township since 2022. For roughly two years, we kept our English bulldog Olive here for occasional daycare and boarding. The employees seemed to always treat her nicely, and she seemed to enjoy her time here, although sometimes tall dogs would pee on her! I did notice that many prescription pills for anxiety and incontinence were not administered and were returned to us, but her health was fine, other than contracting kennel cough and an eye infection from other dogs one time. In 2026, we took our French bulldog Daisy here for a free "interview" for a few hours or so to make sure that she interacted well with the humans and other dogs. My husband and I were able to log into the Camp Bow Wow app on our phones to view Daisy running around. Sometimes the videos did not load well, but we were able to see enough. We plan to keep Daisy here for occasional daycare and boarding in the future. read more

This was my first time at Camp Bow Bow to get my dog groomed. I walked in and every one was very nice and helpful. The person who was going to groom my dog was also very nice and I went over what needed to be done and what not to do as far as cutting hair. I left and came back after about 4 hours to get our golden. I found that too much hair was cut off, He did not look like a golden retriever at all. My mistake wa not saying anything to the groomer at all about to much hair being cut off especially when I said something before I dropped him off. I will go back to Camp Bow Wow but I will only have them do a bath trim feet and brush teeth. the staff where super friendly and for that I would have given them 4 stars, But since he was not groomed as per my instructions I give them 3. read more

My 10-lb dog goes here in their teacup room for daycare and I've boarded her here. I knew it was the right place when I saw on camera that she enters the teacup room, jumps on a cot that has a blanket and settles in, just like she was at home. I've seen her cuddle up right next to other dogs. Yes, you have to keep up with your bordatella and flu vaccines. Do them early to make sure your dog is good to go. You can get the bordatella vax from Camp Bow Wow. You administer it (a squirt into their mouth) in their presence and they provide documentation. Very convenient. Phone calls always go to their voice mail, but I get same-day prompt replies. Email communication is thorough and complete. Be careful to completely read and follow the directions in the email re: deposits and vaccinations so that you don't have a last-minute snafu. Keep your vet records up to date. You can email the record to Bow Wow right after you leave the vet. I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow Pittsburgh North. read more

My parents had their pomsky at this location for a week while they went on a trip. He spent this whole week in the toy dog room or in his cage, and when he usually is with the bigger dogs. He was given soft food that was not approved since he supposedly wasn't eating, and came home sick. Not only was he sick, he stunk. To be honest, he smelled disgusting. And he LOOKED disgusting. He's a longer haired dog, how did the workers not notice a weeks worth of diarrhea stuck on his butt? As if that wasn't bad enough, he had to of laid in urine the entire week as his butt, which is normally white / gray, was STAINED golden yellow. He is STILL stained even after being taken to a groomer and being cut and washed. Their poor dog has been a disaster since, and is only now, 5 days later, beginning to act normal again. Allowing this dog to become so horribly filthy and to lay in his own urine and feces is unacceptable and inexcusable. read more

Our puppy took their puppy training class long time ago. But now I still feel so appreciated about their training service. My dog learned a lot from the training class and he has been a good boy since then. They taught how to sit,down,stand, leave it, etc. Every command is super useful. Only three people at one class-they were making sure your pup got full attention. They would distribute some brochures with training instruction on class so you could follow the instructions and train your puppy when you get home. Highly recommend it for puppies. read more

Don't count on this place. They canceled our reservation even after we received a "Confirmation Email". They said that this email was meaningless and there should be another email that tells you to make a deposit within 24hrs or they will cancel your reservation (no cal or anything, they will just cancel it). Also, they change their vaccination requirements and the automated list they include on the phone prompt when you call them is incorrect. So we are ready to leave for vacation and now they tell us 1) we don't have a reservation and they are now booked and 2) our dog needs other vaccines anyways. There was no other email line they claim about a deposit but even if there was, there should not be a confirmation email that leaves any details out. So if you use them, have a backup plan! The only good thing that came out of this is that in a scramble to find someone we found out that there are websites of people that do in home boarding at very reasonable rates with reviews of other people that have used them (Rover.com). Please don't rely on this hot smelly dog mill and look into better options for your pet while you are away. read more

Horrible. So excited to take my 9 mo old male lab there for exercise & socialization. Watched video off and on and first hour was awesome. Then, the hump fest began. One main dominator with a couple sidekicks. Humping, pinning. But, dogs will be dogs so I let it go. About 15 minutes in and no corrective matters taken, I started screen shooting the video. Over and over again the constant dominant humping and pinning. The handler does NOTHING and blatantly walks by ignoring acts and at another point stands there watching, hands on hips. This lasted A FULL HOUR from when I started screen shooting, more as I didn't start until about 15 minutes in, till I arrived to retrieve my dog early. He was smelly and SOAKED on his back from the bodily fluids of the same dogs, over and over, that continually did this. Chaffed and scratched skin. Had to immediately bathe him when we got home. The owners of these dogs should be pissed too, their dogs were allowed to participate in this. No separation. No stopping the actions. Your dog/dogs are learning horrible behavior there. If my dog were humped at a dog park, I'd expect the owner to try to immediately diffuse the interaction, if not I would. Then give it another try and if if happened again, either expect they immediately remove their dog or if not I'd remove mine. Not allow this to happen for AN HOUR!!!!!!! Camp Bow Wow is awesome! We've taken our dog here since he was 5 months old. He's obsessed. It's a really great way to socialize your dog especially if you're busy working. They take time to really vet all the dogs that come to interview for a spot so that assures me they don't let aggressive dogs in. The workers are super friendly and accommodating and they always give me little updates on his day when I pick him up. We've also done the "spaw day" several times. They do everything: bathe, ears, teeth, anal glands, nail trim. He is always so shiny and smells good and it lasts for at least a week! I would highly recommend Camp Bow Wow north if you're looking for a place for your dog to hang while you are busy during the day!! read more

We have loved taking our puppy here. It's a quick and easy drop off and pick up for boarding, and I know she is being well taken care of. I usually have problems getting a hold of someone when calling, but they are usually very quick to respond from voicemail or via email if I need anything. My dog qualifies as a teacup (under 15 lbs) so I love the option to board her in the teacup cabins and save $5 each day if I choose. Would definitely recommend! read more

The trainer attempted to restrain my dog without any chance for him to acclimate. He is just a puppy and has not been leashed by anyone but my family. They dragged him into the camp area and allowed a dozen dogs to pounce on him. My dog has never barked or growled at another dog, he universally loves to meet new friends, but to be pushed into a unknown corner by an overly rough human and to be swarmed by new dogs is a lot to ask of a scared puppy. I would never bring him back to this branch and I recommend anyone who is looking to socialize a young dog to go to a different branch of Camp Bow Wow. ***Update, the owner was very apologetic and made significant efforts to correct the problem. Just picked up our five month old pup from Camp Bow Wow - and wow, we highly recommend them! Several of my coworkers recommended Camp Bow Wow, and from my first contact with them, it was clear they truly care about the dogs. Our pup had a blast, and we had fun watching him play his little heart out with all the other dogs. He didn't want to leave at the end of the day! This is the best place on earth! My pup loves going to camp. They treat him so well. You can tell all of the councelors genuinely care. If I could afford to send my boy more days I would. Camp Bow Wow North Hills always remembers our pups and make us feel like family. They have great options for either day care or overnight care; our two dogs always get to stay together to keep each other company whether it's in standard care or in a suite. Yes, they have suites with cameras so you can watch your pups while they're sleeping. Even if you don't choose a suite, though, there are cameras in all the play areas so you can watch them play during the day. I did have one bad experience regarding something that a counselor said regarding our pups getting the right food amounts almost a year ago. When I spoke to management about it, it was rectified and handled very well. Leanne is amazing at grooming and always makes the pups look awesome. I've had some bad experiences with groomers in Pittsburgh, but Leanne has always been awesome. She got my "tough" dog's nails short enough that he can walk comfortably (and quietly). She's the only one besides myself that I would trust to groom my dogs, and she is INFINITELY better than me, of course. They also sometimes bring in a pet photographer and allow you to reserve "sessions". We had the BEST Christmas cards this year. read more

I've used other dog boarding places and Camp Bow Wow is the absolute best. Yes, they are super good with all dogs, but that's to be expected. They're also great st dealing with people and their last minute changes. I had just moved 2200 miles and had to fly to a wedding. My neurotic 95 pound shepherd/husky with severe attachment issues was a source of concern. My pug with no eyeballs you'd think would be, but he loves everything...so he was fine. My horsedog that thinks he's a mouse did great. They really work with dogs that need it and make sure they're not going into an emotional coma. They are worth every cent. read more

Ozzie loves going to Bow Wow when we are on vacation! It's also a little vacation for him;) It's great that we can watch his activities during the day, and he is in a Suite at night so that he can have his 'alone time', and we can watch him sleep. Our dog loves going here! We take him twice a week for doggy day care and we have boarded him a couple times on weekends. The staff is always so nice and excited to see our pup and he is excited every time he arrives. And he is always tired at the end of the day! I love their web cams too! My husband and I started taking our dog Jake to Camp Bow Wow North 2 years ago when we were going overseas for 2 weeks. He was very well taken care of while we were gone. He was able to play all day, every day with the other dogs (getting exercise) without having to pay the additional fees for 10 mins of socialization like a few other kennels and boarding facilities we looked into. We can now go out of town or on vacation without having to figure out what we are going to do with Jake. He had such a great time that we decided to start taking him to camp once a week to play with the other dogs. Since he is at home alone for most of each day while we are at work, Camp offers him a great way to get some much needed exercise and socialization. Was a fan of Camp Bow Wow until my dog spent the week there. Checked on my dog multiple times every day and would watch her playing for a few minutes. Until I watched the counselor push my dog along with another dog. I didn't confront them until I picked my dog up as I was afraid they would have been mean to her. When I spoke with the manager who told me watched the video I was told that her counselor handled it the lazy way. Lazy way or not she had not right to push my dog or any other. The managers response was that the counselor was frustrated and she's been with her a long time. So much for zero tolerance. My dog will never go back.. read more

I started off going to training classes here with Leah. She was amazing and my puppy learned so much! I'm going away on vacation soon and I was considering boarding my dogs here while away. I scheduled the interview and was amazed. Each staff member seems genuinely concerned about each and every dog. They pay attention to the habits and behaviors of every dog so they know where to place them. Camp Bow Wow is great! The indoor/outdoor facility is always clean and there are always plenty of activities for the campers. All new campers are required to complete an interview before attending camp, which allows the counselors to see how the potential camper will play and socialize with others. This interview process is great, and makes all owners feel comfortable that their pup will have a fun and safe time at camp. Scheduling visits to camp can be easily done online, over the phone or in person, and walk-ins are welcomed. Our dog loves camp and we would recommend Camp Bow Wow to anyone! read more

My pup has pretty bad separation anxiety. She gets nervous and destructive when we leave her in the house and we go out for something. When I take her to camp bow wow, she's all smiles. The people are outstandingly friendly and just in the short time I drop her off and pick her up, I can see she loves and trusts the people. It puts me at ease because I know she's not in a crate all day, she's happily playing with other pups. On top of it all, the employees almost always update you on how your pup did that day. If they were shy, if they showed other puppies how to play, or if they just hung out! Camp Bow Wow has my highest regards in doggie care.
