Our 8 lb Yorkie lost 2 pounds in 9 days. Video show there was no human interaction with most dogs. Owner did not care. Don't use Bow Wow.

I used to think this place was great. I'm not sure what's happened since they've opened, but I won't use them anymore. One of our puppies got injured twice here. The first time he got into some sort to tiff with another dog and ended up with a cut above his eye. No one said anything to me about it when we left and I didn't notice it until we put him in the car. I came back in and they then addressed it and explained what happened. "It stopped bleeding but if it looks worse let us know." Gee thanks for your empathy and concern. The second time (and reason I will not recommend or use them again)they brought him out from daycare/boarding. They didn't have him on a leash and he surfed the counter and ended up spraining his front leg. I believe he also caught a virus there (but no way to prove this). I ended up taking him to the vet the following Monday as he was vomiting and limping. When we came back the following Saturday I brought a copy of his vet bill and asked them to reimburse them for 1/2 of his check up and his anti-inflammatory meds. Their response was sheer agitation and after giving me attitude their only response was to offer a free day of daycare or to put it towards future training (ridiculous). I felt this incident was handled in a very unprofessional manner and was met with hostility by the manager for even requesting this. They should be glad he wasn't injured worse! Which brings me to training. I felt that our trainer was very nice, but not very organized. I asked multiple times throughout our puppy course to get a list of the things we needed to work on throughout the week. I asked to be emailed the things we missed one week....no emails. We were also supposed to be emailed our "graduation day" photos. Never emailed. We had 2 puppies in the class and they are pretty closely bonded and I felt they didn't get much out of class at the same time. There was an earlier morning class and in hindsight I felt like a good trainer would've strongly suggested splitting up our puppies. Also if you ever watch the dogs on camera it seems like there are at least 20-30 dogs in each group for a small area with 1 person watching maybe sometimes 2. This seems very unsafe even though dogs are tested prior to being allowed into groups. Accidents can still happen. The place is very pricey...like most of its main competitors. 0 stars read more

YOU NEED TO PASS ONTHIS PLACE!!! BAD!! If I could give them a NEGATIVE 10 I would! Be sure to watch the live web stream camera before you make a decision on boarding your dog at this place! Your dog will get NO HUMAN INTERACTION whatsoever. The staff stand around on their phone or with their hands on their hips - they will not so much as bend down to pet your dog on the head. Unless your dog is super rowdy he/she will not get any petting, talking to, or if it is a small dog they will not pick them up. They are completely uninterested in your pet. They act like they hate dogs and their job. Your dog will be in a small play area with anywhere from 20-40 dogs, they are crammed in and they usually had just 1 staff member between TWO rooms of dogs, generally over 50-70 dogs total AND that staff member is looking at their phone or leaning over the divider wall about to fall asleep. All they do is clean up the pee and poop, that's it. One day they had so many dogs they put the daycare dogs in my dog's overnight cabin and he did not get a mid-day break back to his cabin to rest. Those dogs slept in my dog's bed and ate his food. Another day they were only open 1/2 a day, they put the boarding dogs back in their cabin at noon and never came back to feed them their dinner or anything until the next morning. My dog lost over 2 pounds (and he's only 8 pounds - he drank 2 whole bowls of water as soon as we got home - he ate so much food for the first two days back home). WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!! INHUMANE TREATMENT!!! They should be SHUT DOWN!!!! The Owner does not care! read more

Lulu loves going to Camp!! We love that they take great care of her and we can check on her throughout the day. We take her when we go out of town so our mind can be at ease knowing she's safe with employees who are properly trained if any medical emergencies occur. Plus the aspect of all day play was something that won us over as other boarding services don't have that aspect. We also have her groomed here and they do a great job! In comparison to other places I also find the pricing to be very reasonable. All in all I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow and Miss Lulu does to which is evident by her tail going a mile a minute the second we pull in to the parking lot! read more

My border collie mix attended Camp Bow Wow for over a year with no issues. Like any mom, I spent the first few months anxiously watching cameras and everything always seemed to go well. He was always happy to go there and waited at the door excited to go when I said "day care" and he was always happy and wore out when I picked him up. However, back in September we hit an issue. I just happened to look in at the cameras at the very moment an employee entered the play area and this employee was badly handling the rush of dogs that ran to her. My dog was one of many that got whacked back down. I watched thinking this was abnormal but all would calm down, it didn't. I watched as all the dogs surrounded her and were barking wildly. My dog left the group, went to the other side of the room and continued to bark over and over while facing away from her. Submissively stating he wasn't happy. I then watched as this employee waded through the group, went to my dog on the other side of the room and then grabbed and squeezed his muzzle shut. I then watched her look back up over her shoulder to the camera, then grab my dog by the neck and start dragging him. I immediately stopped the camera and called the facility asking them to remove my dog from her immediately. The manager Ashley answered the phone and calmly said she would do so and asked no further questions. I logged back into the camera and saw that my dog was no longer in the room, but the dogs were still all going crazy with that one employee in there. I was at a cancer treatment and could not just leave right away to go save my dog, but I continued to keep checking in to make sure he wasn't in the room with her anymore. When the employee left and a new one came in, ALL THE DOGS IMMEDIATELY CALMED DOWN LIKE MAGIC. When I went to go pick him up and find out what happened, I was brought my dog, and then questioned to what I saw, because "what they saw wasn't what I saw". Then I was questioned if my dog had issues with storms before (there were storms that day). He has been there during storms never with an issue before with storms and I mentioned the behavior of all the dogs when that employee was present. I continued to be questioned on my dogs behavior and the validity of what I saw. The next morning I called to speak to the owner and left a message. My dog who normally bolts to play in the backyard had to be coerced to go outside that morning and fur was falling out of his neck. Instead of the owner calling me, the manager Ashley called me again. I found out that 24 hours later the employee had not yet been coached or addressed to her wrong doing. She continued to work with the dogs with no addressing of the issue. I can forgive and overlook a sudden onslaught of dogs surrounding someone and them handling it not so well. I can justify that in over a year we had no issues and suddenly we had one rare instance. What I cannot overlook is the lack of concern by the management and owner, the reaction to point the finger back and me and my dog rather than to correct or coach internally, and the lack of compassion concern over the entire ordeal. I was given a refund on the remaining days after asking with no care given that we wouldn't be returning. I couldn't in good conscience return my dog somewhere they had no regard for the correction of a fairly major incident. Sad to see over a year of seemingly great service, end so badly. I did also reach out to corporate and they also never responded in any manner to my concerns and I waited an overly fair amount of time before sharing my story. read more

We had to go out of town for a few days and weren't able to bring our pup with us. I am always a little nervous about leaving him with boarders, but decided to try this place. The friendliness of the staff and the knowledge of the front desk receptionist helped calm my nervousness. Our dog seemed to enjoy his time there. Plus they took a picture of our dog while he was there, and gave it to me - I thought that was cute. I also like that this company has national chains. We were able to set up an account in our hometown for when we would be traveling to another state. I tried to use the web cams from my computer and phone while I was away, but they didn't work like I hoped. I wish I could have seen pictures of him, but that's okay. If we ever have to leave our dog again, we will use Camp Bow Wow. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT LET YOUR TRIP BE RUINED!!! BRITTANI and ASHLEY did NOT give accurate information AT ALL!!!! I called many many times to get price, availability and just general information about my dogs staying here - I spoke with 3 different employees who struggled to answer the simplest questions -- how much will it be? How early can we pick up? etc.. everyone had to look things up or ask people standing around etc...FINALLY I spoke with Brittani who seemed very knowledgable and could answer all of my questions - We booked a luxury suite for all but 2 days of their stay - as BRITTANI informed me the first 2 days were already booked - no problem - she'd put us on a waiting list for the entire week - but we have the 6 days booked in a luxury suite which we need because we have a 70lb rambunctious puppy who needs the space and to be with his brother dog! Decided to check back ONE WEEK prior to our trip just to be sure all was good... they DO NOT have us booked in the room promised - CLAIMED it was a computer glitch?!?!? WHAT!?????? ONE WEEK BEFORE??? EVERYWHERE else is booked already???? They advise us to call the new Northland location - letting us know they will compensate us for ALL of the issues -- they do NONE of the legwork - it's left up to us to fix THEIR mistake -- we book IMMEDIATELY with Northland even though it's an HOUR away from our home and $41 MORE each NIGHT!!! So $350 MORE total -- Call ASHLEY the "manager" regarding compensation as promised - since this was THEIR FAULT and THEIR ONLY suggested SOLUTION - they offer NOTHING!!!! AFTER BEING PROMISED they would compensate us for this -- NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - NO CARE for RETAINING CUSTOMERS - HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Because we were a week out we had no choice but to book ASAP (KNOWING we would have some compensation) - we had to pay a half deposit -- so once I hear back from ASHLEY - NO compensation - and we already had to pay our deposit for a MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE boarding stay!!! DO NOT let your vacation cost increase OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS because of THEIR "computer glitch" - LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!! and save yourself the headache of NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and NO EMPLOYEE TRAINING!!!! Additionally - asked to speak with the owner and was told she was out of town and they have NO IDEA when she will be back???? INTERESTING! read more

Camp Bow Wow is the first dog day care I've tried in the Olathe area and so far so good. The staff is friendly and seemed to care about the dogs, the location appears clean, there's a nice outdoor play area that looks to be mulched, and the online video stream is a nice feature. The prices seem very reasonable, but I've recently moved here from the DC metro, where dog daycare runs $32/daily. The real wow factor for me was the grooming though. I was hesitant to leave my dog to be groomed because she usually snaps and growls when brushed and having her nails clipped. When we picked her up, she felt and smelled fantastic (which lasted for several days), had short, smooth nails, and was not visibly traumatized. Here is the kicker - the next day, when I brushed her out, instead of our normal growling, snapping fit, she sat patiently while I brushed her. I am not sure what they did to my dog, but it seemed worth 5 stars for that alone! read more

Camp Bow Wow in Olathe is absolutely the best. The facilities are super clean, the staff is very friendly, and they also have high quality, live webcams so that you can watch your puppy! They have separate areas for different-sized dogs and my puppy is usually in the Teacup room, for the smallest dogs. Today, he was in the room for bigger dogs and right now, for the first time ever, he is actually cuddling with me and sleeping! This is unbelievable! My puppy is usually full of energy when I get home from work (of course!) and spends the night barking, running in circles, and getting into my shoes. Even after a long walk, he has boundless energy. Camp Bow Wow has helped keep my sanity! Thank you, Camp Bow Wow! The only thing I would say is that when my puppy is in the Teacup room, he doesn't come home as tired and is still ready for mischief. My dogs seem to like it, they always come home exhausted. I have checked out and done day care at several Olathe, Lenexa area kennels and Camp Bow Wow is by far the best. Reasonably priced for a single day or overnight stay. They offer packages that save even money if you need extended stays and with five nights you get a free bath. Camp Bow Wow offers more play time than most others and Brenda and the staff is absolutely great. Like the ability to watch dogs on the internet, lets me keep an eye on them when i should be working. The only down side, wish the outdoor area was grass and there was more playtime, less kennel time on Sundays. read more

My dog absolutely loves coming to daycare here. As soon as we get out of the car she practically drags me to the door, and when we get home she is EXHAUSTED. The staff has been nothing but welcoming and friendly and they clearly love all of the dogs who walk through the front door. This was honestly an amazing find! I was on the process of looking for new doggy daycare for my Husky and I ran into the website. I couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is very respectful and the owner definitely treats your pet like she's one of her own. They are amazing with the high level of energy my Husky has. My dog just had her first full week of daycare (I was out of town and a family member kept her overnight and brought her in days) and it went great. We did have to sign up for "ODoggy" to watch the webcam via phone/iPad and it seems that the webcam digital quality has gone down a lot from just a month ago, maybe they have a new provider. It is pretty hard to see what is going on now, but you can still make out your dog if he/she has a distinctive color or tail shape. Everyone was really nice and Jen was friendly and accommodating about my nearly daily phone calls to see how my dog was doing, which was kind. The new turf in the outdoor yard is great and now that it is heating up they are bringing out little wading pools for the doggies to play in when they go outside. Kit was happy and healthy when I got home, and I was happy to see her looking so good and bright-eyed after her week of high activity in this wonderful, spacious, versatile daycare. They really do treat dogs the way owners would want - like someone's beloved little one. I bet this doggy daycare is better than a lot of human child daycare in terms of quality of care, supervision, and cleanliness. You can even bring lunches or snacks and have scheduled naptimes in one of the "cabins" for your camper. Definitely worth making the trip if you live in a nearby city and need to know that your dog will be well treated during an absence. read more

I loved how friendly and caring the ladies at the front were from the onset. When I asked to see the facility, I was given a quick yet detailed tour that help assuage any concerns regarding the facility. I loved seeing an employee in the dog pens at all times as well. The people I have encountered there each time I have gone, are friendly and helpful. It gives you the impression that they will be the same with your furbabies. You are able to check in and see them via the app and that also gives you peace of mind. My larger dog considers going a big treat and loves it. Camp Bow Wow was BEYOND the BEST PLACE!!! Kristine, was very impressive. She knew how to handle & respond to our newly adopted family member. She was calm & patient with him & educated us about why he maybe a little anxious. She even remembered him & his name (Weir, we've changed it to Piper) from when he was at KCK pound. My boxers use go to camp a lot here. I really liked being able to see the dogs on webcam when I was out of town! I decided to bring them to daycamp recently since we were having a house full for a party. My husband dropped them off and called me immediately after saying he didn't feel good about leaving the dogs because the front desk seemed annoyed about their excitedness and was rude to him. Not five minutes later I got a call that my dogs were being "aggressive" and she claimed they've had this problem before- NOT TRUE! I've never had any calls or trouble leaving them anywhere, they are around lots of our friends dogs and go to dog parks and NO problems- EVER!!! When I talked to Jennifer she told me they were just really busy and that our dogs weren't calming down so she put them in a cabin. Five min wasn't enough time to have them calm down! I felt like they just didn't want to deal with my dogs. My mother in law felt bad they were just locked up so she picked them up a while after and she had to pay the camp fees. I am so disgusted with how my husband & dogs were treated as if they were an inconvenience because they were the hyper dogs in the group. They are boxers- they are fun, goofy, loving, playful dogs and I'm offended they would even try to tell me they were agressive! I also didn't like being lied to that they've had trouble with my dogs before- like I said, I've never been called about my dog's behaviors or left with any bad feedback! Luckily I've been referred to another business that our dogs will attend in the future. read more

We have taken Ruby to Daycamp at Camp Bow Wow four times now. The first day she was very apprehensive and hesitant to go. I just dropped her off this morning and she was much more willing to go back with the other dogs. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. I'm impressed they remember who Ruby is when we walk in the door. I'm so thankful we have someplace to take her for a day out while we are at work! read more

Everyone there seems to truely care for the dogs. The facility is very clean. We especially love the cameras! We can log on and watch our boy play at anytime. It's also great that they give baths and will cut nails, no need for additional stops. We go twice a week and Norman plays all day and comes home happy and tired!! read more
