I called this place on a Sunday when I arrived in town because I was moving my niece into her dorm on Monday afternoon. I was told that I needed to fill out an application, get all of the veterinary records and schedule an interview before they would take my dogs for a few hours on that Monday. I went through all the hoops to get the interview and send in all the necessary documentation. When I arrived I was really, really disappointed. Before even walking in the front door the smell of urine was very prominent. I went in and no one came out to meet me even though my appointment was at that moment. I waited until someone finally showed up a few minutes later and was told to please wait while they logged into the computer to find me. We were then ushered into a small interim room where they showed me that I could watch from the monitors where my dogs were going to interact with other dogs during their stay. What I noticed on the monitor were there two big rooms full of dogs that had absolutely nowhere to sit or lay down or anything except on the concrete floor or fake grass. Even the outside area had nowhere for a dog to relax. If you have your dog there for more than a few hours l, you know they're going to want to have some down time. I asked if these were the only 2 rooms that the dogs would be in for the next 5 to 6 hours, which was my plan, they said yes. I was so disappointed with the setup and the service and the smell that I just walked out the door. read more

I used to love bringing my dogs to camp bow wow but the past two times I've been surprised by new charges for boarding. These weren't emailed out or told to me before booking. Most recently I dropped them off for a weekend to find out it's $110/night for two dogs because Friday and Saturday are now peak pricing. That used to be just for holidays but I guess that's changed recently. The time before that I was surprised when I picked my dogs up around 5-6pm to find out I was charged an extra $15/dog for picking up after 10am. If I drop my dogs off later in the day, I don't pay less than if I drop them off at 7am for boarding. $250 for two dogs for 2 nights is insane. I will not be coming here anymore as you can get a Rover to come to your house for $100-$150! I'm well aware of overheard and price increases but the lack of communication is ridiculous and guests shouldn't be surprised by charges. In addition when I went to pick up my dogs, they didn't give me my bag with their things - I had to ask. Then I had to ask again for their refrigerated food. I've been coming here for over 5 years and this place has dramatically gone downhill. read more

Disappointed. This place is very rigid, supposedly due to corporate policies. If you need something special, their policies won't allow them to accommodate you. More importantly, my dog has picked up infections the last two times we boarded him there. They also charged us for a nail trim and dint do it. I'm really sad I have to look for another place. I've boarded my dogs here a couple of times. On the surface, they seem great -- the facility is clean and pleasant enough, the staff is nice enough, the boarding kennels spacious enough. A bit expensive, but the opportunity to play with daycare dogs is bundled into their boarding package and they have webcams so you can check-in on your dogs if you are so inclined ... the question is, are these things worth it? Unfortunately, I have to say no, they're not. The thing is, when I picked-up my dogs, they were frantic. Layla leaped over the barrier into my arms (which is weird -- she's an independent dog and not really prone to separation anxiety). Pip tried to follow but couldn't clear the barrier ... when they opened the barrier he was on me like I was flypaper. Okay, so I'm sure its normal for them to have missed me but really they are better behaved than all this. I don't think that they were abused at all, but have concluded that they were somewhat neglected -- standard poodles are people dogs more than dog dogs, so apparently they were horrified at being left with a bunch of other dogs with little or no human interaction (this I observed on their webcams -- my dogs were always at the fences, following the people outside the enclosures back and forth, but I never saw the staff interact with them, other than to squirt dogs that were playing too rough with water). So much for that bundled daycare being worth it ... but I guess I have to say I did get something out of the webcam (though surely not what they wanted me to get ...) I was also a bit miffed that they didn't seem to follow my feeding instructions -- I packed an extra couple days worth of food for them in case I somehow was delayed, but when I picked them up all of their food was gone. This might seem like a minor thing to complain about, but one of my dogs tends to put on too much weight and the other has a hard time maintaining weight so it's something I'm a little freaky about. Would I take my dogs here again? Well ... I suppose I would if I were really, really, really desperate, e.g. some emergency situation where I couldn't get a petsitter, all the other kennels in town were full, and I couldn't arm-twist a friend/neighbor/acquaintance/anyone I vaguely know with an inkling of experience with dogs to check-in on my dogs. read more

I've been boarding my dog with Camp Bow Wow for a year, and my experiences until now have been overwhelmingly good, but after picking my dog up today, I'm incredibly displeased. I boarded my schnauzer two days ago so I could go camping. I asked if he could get a bath before I picked him up. The girl at the front desk asked what time I would be picking him up (I said 1:00pm today), and she said that they'd definitely be able to get a bath in by then. I didn't see her writing or typing it down, but I had no reason to believe there would be a problem, since they'd always given him the baths that I'd requested during prior stays. My camping trip got cut short due to weather conditions, and I made it back in time to pick him up yesterday afternoon, but I knew he'd be stinky and gross from playing with the other dogs, so I decided to wait and schedule my day today around his pickup time so he'd be clean and ready to go. I showed up a little after 1:00, and my dog came out looking pretty gross. I asked if they had given him a bath, and they hadn't. Then my next questions was, "...is he wet???" They said that yes, he'd been playing in the pool. So you didn't bathe him, and you can't even be bothered to towel him off before giving him back to me? They said that if I wanted him to get a bath, I could come pick him up later, but again, I scheduled my day around his pickup. After putting my gross, wet dog in the car that I had just cleaned from my camping trip, I had to immediately give him a bath when we got home. I should probably mention that my dog is 13 years old and he has arthritis in all of his joints and back, so giving him a bath in my tub is hard for both of us with his stability issues. I don't usually do google or yelp reviews. I've worked at jobs where your performance is heavily scrutinized because of bad reviews, and it sucks, but this ruined my day. I live on the north side of town, but I've been taking my dog to stay at Camp Bow Wow for the past year because I typically like the care they give him, but this was just lazy, incompetent, and left a really bad taste in my mouth. Being that I could have saved a day's boarding fee by just picking him up yesterday or have taken him somewhere on my side of town, I'm going to consider either finding another place or a friend for him to stay with next time I go out of town. read more

For some time now being of service no problems, but as of scheduling a 2 day stay bow wow was contracted to care for Bugsy and all knowing of him. seems as now after having to cut short trip because he wouldn't come out of his cage after being okay in the morning. after driving back to pick up it was described that they couldn't get him out. absolutely was and always been informed to give him medicine for which they Did Not. now they say not allowed back and his not desiring to go you for Your mis-information and previous service. he doesn't desire to go back. read more

Took dog in for a 9 day boarding stay while on vacation. The staff is nice and seems to genuinely care about the dogs. The webcam feature where you can watch your dogs was awesome. In Fort Collins some of the doggie boarding places are just tweakers who own land outside of town and keep the dogs locked in kennels all day. Camp Bow Wow has a nice facility and the dogs get let out to play all day. Big problem though: my dog came back ABSOLUTELY INFESTED WITH FLEAS. Like, fleas crawling on his face infested. Flea comb had so many white eggs in it, it was disgusting. I did everything short of having my house flea bombed which I did previously in a more humid climate and #1 it doesn't work and #2 you have to literally move everything from every single cabinet, drawer etc, pile them in the center of the room, cover with plastic and then vacate your residence for at least 24 hours... it's about the same amount of effort required to move. Took me a while to write this review but it needs to be said. Camp Bow Wow in Fort Collins has a flea problem. I will NEVER take my dog back there. I still have an $80 voucher I had bought in advance of my vacation for future day stays -- which when I called about it -- they said they cannot refund. By this point after multiple flea baths and multiple daily flea combs, washing literally everything including taking all the furniture apart and vacuuming and quarantining for months everything not washable (throw pillows etc) in giant ziploc bags (which are not cheap) I finally resorted to dusting my entire home as well as the dog with diatomaceous earth. This has the same effect as sprinkling a giant bag of baby powder everywhere. It works, it fixed the problem but it makes a seriously epic mess. All of this drama took about four months and a ton of hard work to resolve. I bought a cheap $40 vacuum from Walmart to clean up the dust but it broke halfway through, I had to take it apart, clean it and put it back together to finish the job. BUT THE JOB WAS STILL NOT DONE, dust still lingered in the carpets on the furniture etc so this situation ended up breaking my good Hoover carpet vacuum as well as my Dyson hard floor vacuum. All in all Camp Bow Wow cost me about $550 in broken vacuums and they still owe me $80. Screw that place. There is no excuse to have a flea problem that bad in a dry and high altitude climate like Colorado. read more

My dog loves going to Camp Bow Wow and always has a great time. He was at camp on Tuesday, Sept. 25. In the early morning of Wednesday, Oct. 3 he woke us up hacking and acting very listless. I took him to the vet as soon as they opened and was told my dog had a strain of Kennel Cough that's not covered by the vaccine. My vet said it's a 4-7 day incubation period and he'd seen a number of dogs in the last few weeks with it from kennels all around Fort Collins. The only exposure my dog had to any other dogs in that 7-day period was at Camp Bow Wow. I know you guys require vaccinations which is great. But it seems that you would also be concerned enough with something like this, which my vet said he's seen many cases of including in his own kennel in the past month or so, that you would notify the people there on the same day that their dog might have been exposed and might be contagious. I wrote the Fort Collins location and let them know and got no response back. Same for the national franchise office. This seems rather irresponsible. I would much rather hear from you that there *might* be an issue (that would make me think you're really looking out for me and my dog and make me more likely to recommend you) than hear nothing and wind up with a sick dog that might infect others. FOLLOWUP: My dog eventually had to have chest x-rays and antibiotics and was pretty miserable for about 10 days. This was not in any way Camp Bow Wow's fault, but their lack of response to my questions about notifying pet parents when their animals have been exposed to a widespread local illness that may be serious for compromised dogs makes it clear the welfare of their guests is not nearly as important as they claim. We won't be going back to Camp Bow Wow. read more

When we used to live in FoCo we would take our pups there every now and again. They weren't our first choice but usually they'd do in a pinch. We put the dogs up there last night and carefully reviewed the medication procedures with the supervisor. We were assured that our epileptic dog would be given her medicine in due course and medicine times were included in the overnight fees. So we got there this morning and there was one-half pill in the medicine bottle. We specifically gave them two-half pills and these pill pockets for our seizure-prone pup. Their employees claimed to have given her the pill and no one would say otherwise. I won't get in an argument as to who gave the pill and who didn't but suffice it to say the pill was not given as instructed. To their credit, they refunded us the cost of the overnight but if our dog has a seizure then it is all for naught. We won't be taking the pups back to Camp Bow Wow in FoCo. Ever. read more

I have known about Camp Bow Wow for quite some time, but never actually used their services. Until last week, and I was very happy with what they offer. The staff we dealt with was very friendly, and very accommodating. It definitely felt like a place where the people actually cared about taking care of your dogs (As opposed to some kennels that are nothing more than a cage to keep your dog alive while you're gone). Prices are reasonable and they offer a whole multitude of options; just a few hours of playtime, a whole day of play, overnight, and long term boarding. They have a very nice facility, and also have lots of treats/toys/food for sale, and grooming/bath options. One very nice thing is that they require an initial interview visit. Basically a free day of camp for your dog so they can make sure the dog handles camp and can get along with other dogs while there. They also have web cams set up on their website so you can check in and see your pooch playing if you want to. When we picked up our dogs they had a report card about how the dogs behaved, what they spent most of their time doing, etc. I'd give Camp Bow Wow's FTC location 2 thumbs up. We liked it, our dogs liked it, and it's going to make some of our upcoming trips a LOT easier to manage now that we have somewhere we can drop our dogs off with no worry. Great for giving your dogs some playtime, great for socializing your dog, great for putting them up for the night. read more

I love my doggies, but they can be a lot of work, too. Once in a while, I treat myself to a day off from that and I know that taking them to Camp Bow Wow is a treat for them, too. All of the staff members clearly love the dogs and I know they are having a great time. I enjoy checking them out on the webcam, too. It's reassuring to know that that feature is available. Their groomers are great, too, and take such great care with my skittish girl. And they are patient with the hyper little boy. Best part of a day at CBW? Wanted to write a review for them, because when I was searching for accredited dog trainers, and accredited is the important part, in the area Camp Bow Wow didn't have any. At least that I could find. We're 4 weeks into the Beginning Obedience class and things have been great. Our 4 year old girls had never had training prior and have had shown much improvement. Sara knows her stuff and is very patient with not only the dogs but with us dog parents and all our questions. Decently priced for the quality of service. We love camp bow wow for our puppy. I think it's an affordable and clean place to take your pet for boarding or just day camp. I've actually used both services and haven't been disappointed yet. Other places charge you to have your dog in day camp while they're boarding there which is ridiculous and should be included in the stay which is why we love camp bow wow. When we took our puppy to the interview everyone was super nice and they give you a little report card with your pets picture. That same day when we picked her up she was crying because she didn't want to leave and now every time I take her to day camp she rushes to the door and I love how everyone knows my puppy and greets her by her name. read more

Absolutely amazing! I was in town for a week and thought I'd try out a day care for my two pups. From the minute I walked in, the staff were so sweet and helpful. When they came out to take my dogs, they first asked about them (if they weren't okay being touched places, anything they'd need to know for the day, etc.), gave them a little love, and then took them back. I absolutely love the webcams and the fact that they're not put in cages and crates. By the end of the day, both pups were so happy and tired out! The staff genuinely cares about the dogs and that's the biggest thing, in my opinion. They don't just throw your dog into a group of other dogs and hope for the best. Mine was put in different rooms to see which one he would be best in. They actually remember your dogs and will give you small updates when you come to pick them up. I know I won't be taking my pups anywhere else. read more

We have never been one to use doggie daycare too much with our previous pets. We adopted a young pup and felt it was important for him to engage with other dogs, especially to give our older dog a break. So we went into this with caution. Unfortunately, our dude got hurt as an innocent bystander from other dogs rough playing. I have to say that we have been genuinely appreciative of how much the regional manager worked with us to feel good about bringing our pup back once he heeled from his wound. Accidents happen, how the team responds to them is what matters, and they were responsive and exceptional. I'm a big fan of Camp Bow Wow. $26 for a full day of day care isn't bad, it's comparable to surrounding day cares. I LOVE that I can watch my dog on my computer while I'm at work. I also thought it was a cute touch that for her first visit, she got a little report card. Everyone who works there is always really nice and Lucky always comes home tired but happy. They have a great website and store front too. I enjoyed taking Lucky for her consultation, to see if her personality was a good fit for day care. I started taking my dog there as a puppy and liked that I could watch him on the puppy cam. He did well for a few months but the environment there allowed his aggressive play behavior develop given the little supervision within the dog pens. He is a well disciplined dog, but too much exposure to that environment causes set backs. He does well there now if it is only an occassional play day. In a pinch they are okay for boarding, but they need better sound proofing. There is a whole lot of barking going on there and it is loud to the point of un-nerving even in the lobby. read more

Willie is SO happy at Camp Bow Wow and we love being able to check in on him during the day. He comes home completely worn out, even on Sunday after a weekend of boarding when they don't get as much play time. I love the atmosphere there and their report cards each time he boards. It's a little expensive but since it includes play-time most of the day, it's really worth it to us. We will always board him here when we need it. read more

My husband and I were visiting Fort Collins for his birthday last weekend. Since we were going to be doing beer tasting and brewery tours all day on Saturday, we wanted to drop off our 2 dogs at Camp Bow Wow for the day so that they could play with other dogs all day rather than sit by themselves all day long. I called to confirm our interview and day that we would be dropping them off over a month in advance. The man that I spoke to confirmed that we would have a 9 am interview on Saturday, June 28, the last Saturday in June. He also confirmed that our vet had faxed over our dogs vet records for their shots so that they could stay. When I arrived on Saturday morning at 9 am to drop off the dogs, I was told that I had scheduled our interview at 9 am for the last Saturday in May, not June and that I had missed our interview time and had not shown up so it was MY fault that our dogs could not stay. They also did not have record of the dogs' shots (even though the guy I spoke with on the phone confirmed that they had and I checked with my vet this week and they gave me the fax confirmation that it had been received at the correct number). They did apologize for the miscommunication but continued to tell me that it was not their fault, but my own. She was very busy, however, she accommodated several other dogs and their owners before assisting us. We will not be sending any of our friends to this dog daycare location and will never visit a Camp Bow Wow ever again. Very unorganized and TERRIBLE customer service. Didn't anyone ever teach you that you never blame the customer? Clearly not... read more

Our dogs love going to Camp Bow Wow. They get to go to all day daycare when we will be gone most days of the week and go to overnight camp when we can't take them on vacation with us. The staff is always happy to see them. If they are unsure of any special instructions we leave, someone always double checks. We love the fact that we can have them groomed while they are there and that sure saves us an extra trip. I feel very comfortable leaving my dogs and know they will have fun. The hours are very suitable to our needs versus other places where you have to pick your pet up by 5:00 pm or get charged for another day. Not so at Camp Bow Wow. read more

I've been taking my dog here for a little over half a year since I got him as a puppy. It started with their free afternoon of day care for puppies 4-7 months of age. He loved it so much that I've used them since as a special treat once or twice a month, and I've had to board him overnight twice due to business trips. The staff is great, and they love to see my dog almost as much as he loves to see them. They take great care of him, and I've watched him on the webcam numerous times. They have staff monitoring and playing with the dogs the whole time they are in the group areas. The place is clean, and offers grooming which I have used twice. The pricing might be considered a little high, but given how much he likes it there and how well they take care of him, I'm fine paying it. I recommend it frequently to other dog owners I meet. read more

Is it possible to give this place an even lower rating? Do not bring your dogs here!!! This place is terrible. Last time I brought my dog here, he got peed on and no one bothered to clean it up. I am willing to give a place a pass once and in a pinch I brought my dogs here for a full day of doggie day care. I have two very playful out going dogs. Thus, is why I bring them to doggie day care. Half way through the day, I checked on them using the video cameras Camp Bow Wow has set up. After 20 min of watching and not seeing my dogs, I called to find out what run they had been placed in. The girl said, "Oh I'll check for you and make sure they weren't placed in a kennel." After 15 min of being on hold, suddenly on the cameras there were my two dogs. The girl came back and said, "oh they were just off camera on a bed." BULL FUCKING SHIT! My dogs are out going, playful and love people. I watched the guy in with the dogs for 20 min and never saw either of my dogs on either the inside or outside camera. Then suddenly, once I call, they are seen on camera?!?! All the other dogs in the run were around the man sitting with them. There is no chance in hell that my dogs would not have been around a big group of dogs and a person and been off in a corner (conveniently off camera) sleeping?!? Who do they think they are trying to fool?? When I saw my dogs get placed in the run they both went running up to the person (just like they would do as if they were placed into a room for the first time). They immediately started running around and going up to the other dogs and the person that was in there. A little back story for you, I called that morning to see if the kennel had room for them for doggie day care. They said, "yes." By law, a kennel can only have so many dogs per run. I believe what CBW did was say they had room and then just stuck my dogs in a kennel for the day and wanted me to believe that they were out in doggie day care, when in fact, they were not. This place is a scam and will take your money no matter what. Please don't waste your money. Take your dogs somewhere else! It gets even better. Just spoke with someone who used to work at that awful place, there are no beds in the runs. They apparently according to their own policy, are not allowed to have beds in the runs. Me and my little dog, Buddy, love this place. I have a very unpredictable schedule, and they always have room for him. He loves it because he's become familiar with their staff, as there is little turnover in personnel. I also boarded him there for 8 days while I was away and they took great care of him. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. This is the cleanest facility I've ever seen, the staff is very friendly and knew my dogs' names, and the best part is, they let my blind dog play with all the other dogs. Most camps won't allow a blind dog to play, but Camp Bow Wow never treated him different from any other dog, and it truly make me so happy to know he was being loved and getting to play. Another huge perk to this place is watching them play on-camera (which are VERY clear, by the way!). HUGE thing, too: my dogs come home smelling NORMAL! I absolutely rely on Camp Bow Wow to keep my dog socialized and happy. I have a very boisterous 1 year old Aussie mix, so taking him to daycare fills the bill for draining excess energy each week. Boarding has also been a very good experience. He's pulling at the door to get in, and sleeps for hours after returning home. From a business standpoint, I feel the staff is friendly and professional. They always know us when we walk in, and my dog loves it there. read more

Personal, attentive service and safe for houdini dogs! We started taking our dog to Camp Bow Wow because he has severe separation anxiety and can't be left at home by himself or he'd destroy our house. He'd already escaped from one doggie daycare in town, and we took him to Camp Bow Wow mainly because we'd heard their fences were taller! ;-) We have been very, very happy with the service they've provided. We can log on and see our dog playing all day long, and it's helped us watch his progress from a shy dog who just sat at the feet of whatever human was in the room into a pup who will happily splash in the water and play with other dogs. Part of what has made our dog's transformation so wonderful is that the Camp Bow Wow staff have been cheering him every step of the way. When we arrive at the end of the day to pick up our dog, the staff inevitably will say something like "Did you see your dog today? He is really coming out of his shell!" or "We're working on teaching him not to jump up on people -- have you noticed a difference at home?" The service is phenomenal, and we feel like our dog has a whole circle of friends who care about his progress. I noticed another commenter mention something about Camp Bow Wow restricting certain breeds; that's simply not true. Log onto the cameras of any Camp Bow Wow nationwide, and you'll see plenty of pitties & pit mixes playing happily with all the other dogs. They DO require a brief personality assessment to be sure that any dogs at Camp Bow Wow are friendly to other dogs (for the safety of all the day camp participants) but I imagine most dogs would pass that. We have never had a negative experience here and the staff is always super friendly and recognizes our dog right away. The services are very reasonably priced, and the facilities are great. We don't do the daycare too often, but we take him in for baths about once a month because their facilities are much easier to use, and a lot less stressful then trying to wash him in the tub at home. I was astonished to find a few reviews that said that Camp Bow-Wow was uncaring or unprofessional about the safety and welfare of dogs who visit. Since this is a serious claim, I will give a detailed review detailing why I know that they are much better organized about these issues than other similar places we have visited. I am especially knowledgeable about how they handle these issues because our dog was once involved in an incident, which I will describe below. Note that the negative reviews are either quite old or based on pure supposition about a dog's behavior when he was picked up after a single visit. We have been using Camp Bow-Wow since we got our German shepherd pup six months ago. We have used them for day care for an hour at a time, about four days a week, to help socialize him and help him work off extra energy. We have taken dog-training lessons with them. The lessons are consistent with current thinking, which is that animal training should be based on rewards and kindness, not punishment. One of the instructors we have had is also the manager, and she has a degree in animal behavior from CSU. I was skeptical that rewards alone are enough, but the classes have shown me otherwise. (The instructors we have had are Sara and Taylor; I recommend them both highly.) The front-office staff are extroverted and fun, and it is obvious that they have chosen that kind of work because they like animals. They all know the dogs by name, their personality traits, and which dogs like to play with which. The front-office staff all take rotations in the back with the dogs. They are also knowledgeable about dogs, and one of them picked up on an important issue (rear adult teeth that hadn't come in on time) that the vet missed but should have caught when he had him under anesthesia at six month. Unlike other dog-care places, Bow-Wow insisted on an "interview" before they would accept our dog. They first observed his behavior, then gradually introduced him to other dogs to check for signs of aggressiveness or other behavioral problems over the course of an afternoon. There was no charge for the afternoon because they wanted to reserve the right to reject him. We appreciated this because it meant that the other dogs would also be put through the same screening. Our dog has great time there and normally plays well with the others. He has never been bitten by another dog. However, one day he got mad at another dog and pinned him down. They squirted him with a hose to get him off the other dog, which they had on hand for this contingency. He was segregated from the other dogs when I picked him up, and I was worried that he could be kicked out of their day care. They were reluctantly noncommittal about what they would decide about that. They needed time to meet and study the matter before they reached a decision. It was clear that they were taking it seriously and deliberately. That evening, they reviewed films of the incident (which other day cares don't have) and concluded that he had twisted his hip while playing with the other dog and was probably in severe pain when he got aggressive. That, together with with the amount of time he had spent there without incident and the fact that he didn't break the other dog's skin, which he would have done if it had been a serious fight, led them to believe that the incident would be unlikely to repeat itself, and that the risk of giving him another chance was not too great. I think they would expel him if he did it again, but that was two and a half months ago, and, as they predicted, there has been no other incident. Unlike other day-care places, they have web cams that allow you to watch the dogs on a laptop over the Internet. You can see for yourself how the dogs are treated and managed. Dogs are segregated in separate rooms by size and temperament. By contrast, at another place we visited, they used makeshift portable fences for this. (Big dogs kept hopping the fence into the little-dog section and had to be rounded up, a potential safety issue for bite-sized little dogs.) I have spent quite a bit of time watching on the web cams at Bow-Wow to see how our dog is doing, and the dogs are always closely monitored, the staff keep the place clean and immediately pick up after dogs in the yard. I took my very large, separation anxiety ridden puppy to Camp Bow Wow after not feeling quite right with my previous day care. I was happy to see the interview process was pretty extensive. I always felt like there were too many aggressive dogs in the previous day care facility. Happy to report he passed and I have taken him there several times for half day and full day daycare. They know he's a giant baby and enjoys his down time, so they do so when he is feeling tired. He is very excited to go each time, but loves it when I come back to get him (so sleepy). I have also had him camp out there a handful of times. I have never had any negative experiences with those services either. We also use the self serve bath and its it great for washing big dogs!!! read more

I have taken my fur babies to Camp for over 5 years and I have been VERY pleased with the staff and the way they handle my dogs. I have used mostly all of their services with the exception of homebuddies, training, and dog grooming. I have noticed that the location at S.Mason has gotten busier which is nice for buisness. I just hope the owners pay their EXCELLENT staff more so that they can retain the great service and care i expect from Camp Bow Wow. read more

We just boarded our dog at Camp Bow Wow Fort Collins for 10 days. That's a long time, and I was concerned since Lizzie hasn't been boarded anywhere for over two years. She did fine, and we were very satisfied with the staff and the standards of customer service. I would rate them five stars if the play yards were larger. But, we checked one other facility with large yards, and customer service was terrible, the kennels were damp and perhaps dirty, and Lizzie came home with diarrhea after a short day of day care. We were extremely pleased with the reception at Camp Bow Wow, and the attention Lizzie received. They were careful to follow our feeding instructions, and Lizzie could have her own bed in her "cabin." And, she came home happy if tired out. She seems to miss her new dog friends! read more

I boarded my dog here one time on the recommendation of a friend who brings her dog here occasionally for day care. I will never do so again. I was away for two days and never once saw her on the video cam, though I checked regularly. I asked about this when I picked her up, if for some reason she was separated from the other dogs, and was told no, she was there. When I picked her up she was not her usual self -- frantic, stressed, shaking. I was given a report card that said she "doesn't know how to play with other dogs." My dog plays with other dogs every day. I am a pet sitter and she makes the rounds with me with every client and is one of the most social dogs I've ever known, to people and other animals. She plays nicely with dogs in the park, around the neighborhood, wherever we go. I also left several extra day's food in case my trip was extended, and all of it was gone after only two days. My dog is a slight eater, often skipping meals, so the fact they she was overfed, and apparently ate all the food given her (or it was tossed), indicated to me that something was amiss. I was disturbed by the state my dog was returned to me. She will never be boarded again because this experience soured me completely. Of course she missed me, but she likes nothing better than playing with other dogs and having a good time. I don't know what happened to her, since I never once saw her on camera, but I would never recommend this place to anyone based on my experience and the lack of concern the staff showed. They discounted all of these things when I asked about them, offering no explanation for the food, the absence of my dog on camera, and her anxiety. What a horrible experience! read more

My husband and I love Camp Bow Wow! The staff is so friendly, and they always remember me and our two year old GSP whenever we step through their doors. As any owner of a GSP knows, they are very high energy dogs, and can be difficult to deal with at times. Even with all of her high energy, everyone there truly understands her breed, and they love on her for all her craziness! :) Our dog attends Day Camp three times per week, and we have boarded her there several times as well. She always has a blast! I love the "camper cams" so we can check on her whenever she is there, and the report card to tell you how everything went while she was there. This business practices blatant breedism (just think racism and apply that to dog breeds). I called Camp Bow Wow in Fort Collins to inquire about doggy daycare and to see if I could take a tour of the facility and meet some of the staff. Darn right, I would never just take my girls somewhere and drop them off without checking it out first! The person on the phone was friendly and said, "Of course you can check out the place but wait, first...what kind of dogs do you have?" Oh so badly did I want to say the kind with 4 legs and a tail but I didn't. I answered proudly, "A rescued 7 year old boston / pit mix and a 8 month old pit mix from the Larimer Humane Society." I was promptly informed that Camp Bow Wow does not accept pit bulls or pit mixes of any sort along with certain other breeds (she did not elaborate on this) - note their breedism is not reflected on their website under Camp Rules. The girl on the phone went on to apologize about the rule and that she would love to have my dogs there she likes the breed, thinks they are really sweet dogs but Camp Bow Wow is a franchise and they have to follow franchise rules even though pit bulls and pit mixes are legal, welcome dogs in Larimer County. Sad. But that is ok there are plenty of other doggy daycares in the area that do not practice breedism that welcome my lovely little dogs. read more

We've been regulars at Camp Bow Wow for more than a year and a half. In January, my dog had neck surgery. After months of rehab, I called Camp Bow Wow as she's ready to return. Because of her surgery, she can no longer wear a collar; she must wear a harness. This came from her neurosurgeon - not something I cooked up! Camp Bow Wow won't take her. They gave me some ridiculous line about how other dogs can't read her body language, which is an absolute farce. I can read her shoulders, back hair, arching, and posturing in the harness. Its a harness for heaven's sake, not a body wrap! My dog has one, small special consideration and rather than trying to work with me to accommodate us, Camp Bow Wow dismissed us outright. She's not broken! Further, collars actually aren't even good for dogs; I've learned through this process collars put too much stress and strain on the dog's neck. So thanks to an antiquated and scientifically inaccurate policy - that only collars are allowed - Camp Bow Wow turned their backs on us. I'm absolutely disgusted and very hurt by how we've been treated. read more
