We took a notion to go and within 10 minutes four of us were on our way. We arrived and it was packed out so we got a buzzer and sat in the car for not very long. It was a cold day just after noon.
Seating was comfy and there was a great vibe as lots of folks were enjoying their food.
Our two sons ordered the sirloin steak sandwiches on ciabatta with chunky chips - real chip shop chips fried in beef dripping and they can't be beat. When I was very young my mother made her own soda and potato breads and for breakfast they'd be fried in beef dripping. Then a good sprinkle of salt and I'll tell you now three score and ten later to heck with caviar and lobsters, wagyu fillet steak and quail I'd take fried soda every time. Sadly it is decreed as unhealthy.
Poppycock what is unhealthy is the chemical rubbish pumped into food, and all the ICI industrial sugars, mechanically recovered meat and on and on.
Rant over the steak sandwiches had onions and mushrooms and a better than Fitzpatrick's pepper sauce (reviewed separately).
I had my usual cold water prawn salad on buttered wheaten and it was blooming delicious and they don't need to change a thing. It's perfick as Pa Larkin would say.
My wife had a BLT and got chips as an extra on the side. Service was great and I had a tasty cappuccino. read more
