The owners were not there so the kind woman at the desk called the owners and they offered $50 saying they could see the items through the cameras. I couldn't believe it. They could only see some of the items and only over a camera. They did unexpectantly show up at the store, shuffled through the items, and still offered me $50. I was shocked by their unprofessionalism and expressed my feelings. The male owner said he'd get me a box and garbage bag saying I could go elsewhere as he rudely walked away. I went to another store where the owner explained the items, their value and why. What a well versed gentleman! He gave me $425 for the items!

They have an extensive collection of Lugers, and usually bring out military surplus to the gun shows. Their Taurus line up is often extensive. However, if you're looking for new HK's or more elitist brands, they're not often in stock at this location or in very limited availability. They are more than willing to order them, but be prepared for an unpleasant surprise at the quoted price. Though they're one of my favorites to browse at gun shows, I rarely go to their store 1.) because they never seem to be open after work when I'm able to go and 2.) some of their store employees suffer from the same machismo that turns me off from dealing with gun enthusiasts. Call ahead to make sure they're open, and go in knowing exactly what you're looking for.

There are some good rifles and shotguns in the rear of the store, and racks filled with overpriced junk on a rack in the middle of this little shop. Around the store, on the floor, are bins of old ammunition at top prices. Behind the counter you'll find a mixture of inexpensive pocket autos, old guns, and the owner, Griz, who dispenses some of the most outrageous BS you'll ever hear in a gun shop. I've heard him go on about AKs, saying he spoke at length with Mikhail Kaliishnakov at the US distributor's warehouse. Nice try, but Kalishnakov never worked for a US distributor and didn't speak English. The last time I was there he was explaining that the ammunition shortage was due to the government buying up all the ammunition made and shipping it overseas. The younger guys who work there are pretty reasonable, and I'm told that Griz is in the process of selling the business to his son in law, so perhaps things will improve. If you're in the neighborhood it's worth a visit just to see the old collectables, but generally I purchase my ammunition and supplies elsewhere. Update: The last half dozen times I've driven by the store has been closed and locked up. Are they still in business? No idea.

We drove 45 minutes to a closed location that was never indicated during the conversation. Calling again to verify location, and stressing the need for these pieces and that we had another 30 minutes ahead of us, Andrea had no empathy to remain open atleast a couple of minutes. She continued to say we close at 7 and disregarded the fact that she and her employee caused some of this confusion by not disclosing that their previous location is closed. Her lack of empathy and taking some responsibility tells me she should not be a leader of this store or any at this time. If the item was not needed in an emergency uniform requirement, we would not have even tried to make it as I do not spend money where people have no understanding or desire to admit responsibility and do something to make things right.

Not recommended for Class 3 firearm transfers…read more -Sent wrong FFL number, delaying my transfer 5 months, I had to resubmit Information and start over. -Did not have any fingerprint cards, said he would order more from the ATF, after weeks of hassle, I had the out of state seller I originally purchased the firearm from send them to me personally. -Frank then said he would have the forms filled out, had to stop in to the store multiple times, and they were never completed, I had to fill them out myself. -One of my visits, they were complaining loudly throughout the shop that a different customer had also been given the wrong FFL# and had also wasted 5 months on a transfer -My fingerprint cards were not completely filled out, delaying my transfer AGAIN - did not call when my forms arrived (even though I double checked he had my contact information less than a week earlier) The only 2 GOOD points I can make about my transaction through Lapeer Military are the following: ~$75 Class 3 transfer is $100+ cheaper than any surrounding businesses. ~Frank made special arrangements so I could pick up my firearm after hours
