Gotta love Caminos. This is a true dive bar, not some place that was rehabbed, with faux smoke stains added as decor, or the smell of vomit being purposefully pushed thru the ventilation system for your enjoyment. Nope. That vomit smell is fresh. The drunk chick that fell in 6 inch heels is for real, not a Paid actress. The drunk dude that's been sitting there for a week straight has been sitting there for a week. His only nutrition? Takis and garnishes he grabs with his bare hands from the serving station. The drinks are truly that affordable and that loaded, so watch your step as you exit. The beauty of Caminos is that the staff is friendly and will probably walk you to your Uber, and the local crowd doesn't care if you walked in wearing a wedding gown, or a walmart uniform just off shift. Be friendly, don't play garbage on the jukebox, and enjoy the night.

A Mexican dive bar right in the residential area of Pilsen. Unless you live in the area, or got thirsty after an hour at the laundromat next door, you probably would never even know it existed. It's really easy to miss, but if you make your way in it's a decent little bar for a drink. Pool table, very cheap drinks, MyTouch Tunes, and apparently they have a karaoke night as well. Unless you love dive bar hunting, you probably wouldn't make it a destination, but if you find yourself down this way it's a cheap ticket and there's two taco trucks that park right around the corner.

I walk by this place every day on my way to and from work. Most days there will be a few people smoking/loitering at the paulina entrance (even at 10am). They always look like they're up to something. and that something looks like it's going to be fun. I've been meaning to stop in for months and last night felt like the right time to investigate. Reasonable prices, internet jukebox, free snacks, fun regulars (dancing) and one adorable old bartender cemented this place as my new favorite neighborhood bar- very dangerously located 2 blocks from my apartment. Bye-bye life!

I have my given name, and my Caminos De Michoacan name. Can you guess which is sexier?

This place is a lot of fun! The bartenders are cool, the karaoke dj was cool. Only thing is that karaoke night didn't have enough karaoke.

The place where everyone knows your name. A Pilsen staple! I would take this over any other bar.

It's a reasonably-priced busy dive bar in the heart of Chicago. I asked the bartender if she had a beer + shot deal and she said "no, but you can order a beer and shot." And so we did! Noise level is fairly high, thanks to a lively crowd plus a jukebox. They don't normally serve food but I think are fine with customers bringing in your own food, and you can also place an order from a nearby restaurant (I don't recall which one). And yes, it's cash only so bring some money if you don't want to pay ATM fees! 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. I like bars that allow customers to bring (or order) their own food - it allows for all diets! The one thing I'd like to see is more beer on tap - even just one good rotating local beer (e.g., Goose Island). Draft beer has smaller environmental footprints compared to bottled or canned.

Probably the true definition of Dive Bar, Rossi's is worth at least a fly-by. It is a bit dark, a…read morebit small, but still fun. Limited seating and even limited standing room. You can grab you own beer from their refrigerators, however, you'll need to pay and have the bar open them for you. I was impressed by the variety of the selection. Keep in mind it is cash only and swing by for a drink!
