This place sucks except for the restaurants
    Avelino C.

Everything went wrong. No phone working. No promised boxed breakfast. Stinking towels. Stinky water. Dirty carpet. It's not even worth naming everything. I know that she used to be a top-of-the-line hotel, but now it is far from it. Only thing good here are the restaurants

The architecture was revolutionary and avant- garde when the hotel was build. A nice painting of Tamayo decorates one of the walls. There is a nice fragrance which perfumes the main lobby. It is a huge complex with long and endless hallways. Too many steps are on the way to the reception The restaurant at the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet and menu. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time when we arrived at midnight to get our room. Only two receptionists were working at that time and we had to wait quite a long time for our turn. We were given a room where we could hear a loud music coming from a night club on the other side of the street. We immediately asked to change room and our request was granted. The room was quite spacious. There was a small toothpaste tube with the bathroom amenities. No coffee in the room unless you ask for a coffee machine and pay for the pods. If you are looking for a romantic place: this is not the right hotel!

When our flight was cancelled, we ended up getting another day in amazing CDMX. I knew we wouldn't be able to extend our AirBNB by a day, and I was so happy to get a night at a hotel, but this is more than just any hotel. This hotel is a work of art, and we loved our stay. The hospitality was wonderful, the architecture was amazing, the pool was lovely, and the room was awesome. We loved all the options for food and drink inside the hotel, and the proximity to fun stuff to do in Polanco. I would absolutely stay here again, but it kind of felt like a once-in-a-lifetime thing at the same time .

    Spacious

Highly recommend this hotel. It is located in a great area and very centric to everything. Polanco has tons of restaurants, museums and nightlife. The staff at the hotel is very friendly the rooms are spacious and clean. We really liked looking at the garden and it was like an oasis inside a busy city. The toiletries are all Molton brown and you really do feel that this is a luxury hotel. We look forward to staying here again.

This hotel is quite old. It does have the old Spanish or Mexican style to it. Very colorful. This hotel was built in the 60s and there hasn't been much renovations done. As a note: Do not shower around 8pm, water is usually luke warm to cold. The furnitures are kind of old. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are no free wifi but again this depends on how much you pay for the room. So if you go for the plan without free wifi than it's about 1990 MXN per night (wifi wil cost an extra 220 MXN per night) or you can pay straight up 2786 MXN per night or more that comes with free wifi and free breakfast. I heard from a colleague that if you sign up for their membership, you get free shirt ironing (my colleague got his shirt burnt - might not be a good idea). I had my laundry done here. They charge a lot for it and if you go 2 blocks down the street it is 80% cheaper. Food in the hotel is priced more than if you went outside and ate locally. The rooms are somewhat dark. Just not enough lights. As well the rooms are cold. My heater was not working when I moved in. But again, its not just me. At least mine got fixed after I complained. My colleague heater was broken and his was not fixable but he got a different room. Also the heater or AC is kind of slow and loud. Some rooms has a balcony door. But the balcony door is not to open. The curtains are very old style. Paid internet is not 100% reliable. You can only connect up to max of 3 devices. The internet is somewhat slow and at times not working. This hotel provides free newspapers. Also they have an agreement with tour companies, if you want to do a tour of the city than the concierge will be able to help you. Yes they have people who knows how to speak English. Other than that. The hotel is ok. Location wise it is at the very end of Polanco. Streets are very quiet and empty at night.

    a horrible experience

knowing this was once mexico city's largest hospital is creepy. barely one star. it is a hotel of superficialities. it looks great when you enter. hotel is a renovation site in several areas and smells of chemicals in many moo. (see pic). the rooms are superficially attractive. the beds are uncomfortable. before changing rooms, i had to put linens on the floor to sleep. (see pic.) the bed was soft, providing no support. even the second room i was moved to was bad. you can't sleep. the construction is iffy. light shines through the tops of the doors and blackout curtains. (see pics). if you get up in the middle of the night you do not have to turn on the lights. as you walk the corridors, you hear every activity in the rooms. on the street side the noise is intense. (see pic.) cleanliness is an issue. (see pic.). you may even want to wear shoes in the shower. there is no ventilation in the bathrooms. so except a fog in there and the rooms. and if you want to see construction methods here is an example. it is $200+ a night for really marginal accommodations. breakfast is about $30. the hotel did not any financial consideration for its poor accommodations. it really is a zero.

Business trip, coffee and newspapers at 6am.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Colonia Polanco. The service was impeccable, and I got spoil by having my coffee and newspaper in my room every morning. It can be a bit noisy in the mornings, but whoever's been into Mexico, knows that traffic its a total nightmare. One outstanding feature its the fountain in the entrance that emulates ocean waves. Simply majestic.

Enrique, who escorted us to our floor to our night Butler named Victor, who taught us how the Room worked. When you stay here, the butler assigned to you, will handle things like making a reservations, bringing one coffee, tea and even unpacking your luggage or pressing your clothes. It was available upon the request. This is an easy to use WhatsApp system. The Kingcole Bar serves breakfast but it also is a perfect spot for a very well-made nightcap or two. While I prefer a vodka martini with a twist. We were told that each Saint Regis has their very own Bloody Mary recipe per location worldwide. These are slightly adjusted recipes to reflect the locally sourced native ingredients. There's even a beautiful book on this that one can purchase called the Saint Regis Bloody Mary book which I would love to order for my husband and our ever growing culinary library. Our room was perfection and with its steam shower and rain shower head it was an event and mental reset each day after waking up. The bedding is wonderful and the pillows perfectly blended. I also very much enjoyed the sectional sofa we had in our room and would enjoy coffee they brought from here. Perfect for a reading spot on an email post within the room if you wanted a break from the desk set up. We loved it and it felt like home. If swimming and cardio is your thing, they got a place for that here as well on the 15th floor the top floor overlooking the entire city weight room on one side and cardio equipment on the other. The St. Regis Spa is a wonderful experience.my very talented massage therapist was named Dulce-Maria and did an amazing job. I was grateful to have a 45 minute bamboo deep tissue massage. She is powerful and healing at what she does. The staff then surprised me with a handwritten note and a beautifully curated chocolate fudge cake. So kind. It must be noted that the use of florals here never-ending and everywhere you go as their groupings are so beautifully curated. We appreciate this wonderful hard working staff who is amazing and took care of us with kindness in their eyes and with grace. We will call this home when we are back to St Regis next month. We were lucky enough to get a reservation at ANIMAL here at the St Regis and it is as wild of a menu as its name. Everything is oversized and wonderfully celebratory from the time one enters. The jungle like atmosphere reminds you of an exclusive party that one's been invited to deep in the jungle by someone the likes of Lenny Kravitz!. It's a wild blended interior or great art, deep pulsing music and even the wallpaper the WC is excited to see you. Leaning into its jungle theme, the plants cascade the windows and everything is large and oversized the chandeliers hang above you with 'mega strands of beads'. And like everything in Mexico City, there is a perfect use of brick, cement and beautifully crafted handcrafted wood. A Moulin Rouge like tenting surrounding the sushi bar and cocktail glasses larger than your face. The decor matches the tastes of this awesome menu. The menu was expanse and very cool from local Mexican concepts as well as an entire Sushi rollout that makes a person feel everything. Well traveled and have access to nations. I recommend the sushi, the spicy salmon, the Tacos De Hugos and a small key line dessert. The wines have their own presentation here with an attached glass bauble of an aerator and when one orders the white wine it's presented in a sup zero frozen wine glass complete with vapor. We will be back here and appreciated every surprise the servers shared with us for our anniversary. Thank you so so so much!

The service was spectacular, in particular from Daniel, the best sushi chef, and Jorge, the studious waiter. All the staff did a fantastic job to ensure I had a nice experience. Park Hyatt Residencies next door was under construction at the time, so one of the drop off areas was one-way only. Hyatt Regency Mexico City is a separate property from Hyatt Regency Mexico City Insurgentes. The former is 25 minutes away from the MEX airport. We loved the 40th floor club that gave us free breakfast every day. Food was ok, but I enjoyed the coffee and concha every morning. The fitness center on the 3rd floor was 24/7. Unfortunately the tennis and pickleball courts cost a fee to rent; the equipment also costs to rent. The pool is kinda indoor but is only open certain hours. The sauna is inside the restroom/lockers and are closed when the pool closes. They have restaurants on the lobby level, but I did not get to try them. My king room was good. The toilet flushed so vehemently. The shower had two shower heads - one was a rain shower head and one was handheld. The WiFi was good. The AC worked. Every day I heard talking and screaming from the rooms around us and their annoying children. I don't blame the hotel. I hope I can come back soon!

The suite has a massive bedroom and living room with some of the best views of Mexico City. Unfortunately, some of those views are starting to get blocked by the construction of the new park Hyatt, which they're opening next door; however the views from the 42nd floor here are amazing. Access to the suites or to club rooms give people access to the club lounge. This was clutch as the lounge is well stocked with water and soft drinks, and they have good food (including a really decent breakfast) laid out throughout the day, and there are plenty of tables where one can take care of business/work. The vibes were amazing when I would wake up to coffee, fresh squeezed juice, freshly baked pan dulce, fruits, chilaquiles, and smoked salmon with amazing views of Chapultepec park. "Light bites in the evening" differed nightly and they included drinks (including alcohol), top class desserts, and tasty finger foods. It's saved us on nights we were too tired to go out after a full day. Service was great from staff. The only drawback is that this location can be 20-25 minutes from anywhere you'd want to go that's outside of Polanco (due to traffic that's as bad as any place I've been in the world); however, Polanco has a unique, international business district vibe that differs than a lot of Mexico City (which can be a negative or a positive, depending on what you're looking for). On weekends, there are some cool local events if you're staying here. I woke up to walk to parque Lincoln for their Saturday market. On Sunday, paseo de la reforma is closed to traffic and locals can walk or bike 12km between here and centro historico, if they desire. Overall, I had a great stay here and I think that if you're lucky to have a suite, then the experience is amazing. When Park Hyatt opens next door in late 2026 to 2027, it will take over as Hyatt's premier property in Mexico City. It will be interesting to see if the Hyatt Regency suite/club room experience will remain as a luxury destination when the park hyatt brand opens next door. Secondly, in May 2026, Hyatt's loyalty program will be changing, causing a massive devaluation of points, which will raise the cost of their rooms and suites via that method of payment. I think the Hyatt Regency suites and club rooms are an amazing way to enjoy the city; however, the cost is high, and you would have to weigh whether it is worth it for you. This said, for my stay in April 2026, it was absolutely worth it, and I will never forget the experience!

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The single issue was the incessant bass drone from the bar nearby. Earplugs didn't work because it wasn't possible to mask the low Hz frequency effectively. Every major museum was about a 25 minute stroll through scenic neighborhoods to get to. Some of the best restaurants (Nobu, Sylvestre) were around the corner. All in all this is probably the best place to stay in CDMX. If not for the bass from the bar, which was totally not the hotel's fault, this was probably the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in Mexico (no children or pets, I think, but not sure). No drunk teens shouting in the hallways - idyllic. About $500-$700/night depending on date. Totally worth it.

Breakfast: This was my absolute favorite part -- I usually don't care for hotel breakfasts because I'm always on the go, but once I had the first bite, I moved our itinerary around so that we could get their breakfast every morning! They start around 7am with the bread and coffee, but the hot breakfasts start at 8am and end at 10am. I got to try chilaquiles, enchiladas, and enmoladas while I was here, and they really make them with heart and soul! These were the best things I ate during my trip to Mexico City! Also really loved the outside garden in the mornings with all the greenery and birds chirping. Location: in the heart of La Condesa, walking distance to Roma Norte, both neighborhoods were great for strolling through parks and art galleries. They have great shampoo/conditioner and shower gel, amazing water pressure and temperature, everything was so clean, and I got to sit outside in the balcony and took it slow for the last morning we were there. Housekeeping was amazing, everything was perfect when we came back every night. Safety: They lock their front doors and the front gate so you need your key to get in, and there's a safe in every room. Happy Hour every night 6-8PM: This was such an unexpected bonus! I didn't even plan for us to be at the hotel during those hours because I wanted to see everything in CDMX, but it ended up raining during those hours and we went to one, and it was so much fun chitchatting with other like-minded travelers who shared what they loved about their trip -- We ended up going to a few more & got so many tips from other guests! The hotel dogs Romeo & Booz - I love them and miss them so much! Side note: I LOOOOVED all the art work and interior design and colors. Felt like I was in an art gallery but at the same time so comfortable at a friend's home. HIGHLY recommend!!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!
