​We decided to try Camille's last minute and had no trouble booking a reservation online. The restaurant was fairly quiet, but a very comfortable atmosphere, which made for a nice relaxed dinner. ​The food overall was really good. We took advantage of the Dine Out Lauderdale menu which allowed us to sample a little bit of everything. I got the pistachio and shrimp pasta, it was super tasty, along with the yummy zeppoles. My only real takeaway for improvement is the pricing on the kids' meal, charging $15 for a plain bowl of buttered pasta feels a bit steep for a child's portion. It was my fault for just asking for buttered noodles for my toddler, I never saw a menu but they said no problem when asking if I could get him plain buttered pasta. So after reading a lot of good reviews about this place and passing it countless times my wife and I decided to try it for dinner last night. I'm all about supporting local businesses and independently own restaurants. With that said, the food was terrible and a total waste of money and my time. Before I go into this too far, the food was edible and I don't send things back and I rate them based on how the restaurant is going to serve them. I can tell you now and you can see it from my pictures that I took last night. Our dishes did not look like other photos that I saw on Yelp. The restaurant does have a nice quiet atmosphere inside. We started with the meatball appetizer. Disappointed right from the start. The meatballs were small, lukewarm, very dense and dry. Sadly, two of my bites had small hard bone fragments which I spit out and just put on the side of my plate. The meatball appetizer came with three versions of what they call meatballs. My wife ate one and said I'm not gonna waste my appetite on this For dinner, she got the penna à la vodka and added sausage. I ordered the mushroom papperdelle pasta and added shrimp. I will start with my wife's. The pasta came out lukewarm and was the size of an appetizer. The most ridiculous part is that they added an eight dollar charge for sausage which I'm fine with, however at first, we didn't even know it had sausage. When she moved the pasta around, she found a total of five small mushed up pieces of ground sausage in the sauce. Horrible presentation and terrible quality. My mushroom papperdelle, which you can see from the photos, barely had any pasta in the plate. What was there had some pieces stuck together, some pieces that were mushy, and some pieces that were still hard because they were stuck to other pasta. To make matters worse, the broth that it was served in had a soup consistency, which you can also see from the picture. As for a mushroom dish, you would think mushrooms would be the star of the show. NOPE!!! What should have a good amount of mushrooms, especially when they're charging what they charge for an appetizer size portion of pasta. There were barely any mushrooms to be found in my pasta. It's was a joke at this point how shameful the food is. Again, you can refer to my photos and see that I'm not exaggerating, the portion size and how unacceptable the presentation and quality of food this was. Additionally, the service was just OK. The gentleman that was assisting us was pleasant, but seemed rushed. After our appetizer came out, we didn't see him again until we wanted to order our dinner. After he took an order, he vanished again and didn't come back till he brought our dishes at which time I asked for a second glass of wine. We wanted Parmesan cheese, and my wife literally had to look around the restaurant until the server finally looked over and saw that we needed something. When he came over and we asked for cheese, I then reminded him about the wine and he said oh I forgot. I believe in second chances, but this was such a deplorable meal. We are definitely not going back here and I would say that you probably shouldn't waste your money because the pictures that are on Yelp from other people don't represent the food that they're serving consistently. You can see from my other reviews that we enjoy fine dining and good meals. I never have a problem paying for something we enjoy. My check came out to $120 last night and I paid it and we left. I felt like I was ripped off and it's sad that they're charging this type of money and serving low budget and low quality meals. read more

Dinner at Camille's was excellent! From the moment we walked into the restaurant to our final bite of that delicious Tiramisu. Mary, our server was fabulous! I am a fanatic about good music and was I a happy camper when I sat down. The music was at a level that we could talk and still enjoy those old school songs from Rick James to The Isley Brothers. I had Fettuccine with Shrimp and my partner in crime had Lasagna I stopped eating my entree and dug into that Lasagna absolutely DELICIOUS! We did have those amazing garlic rolls, calamari, shrimp and eggplant!! Prepared with love. Tiramisu was the icing on the cake! They also do pizza in-house. Camille's is an upgrade at least in decor for this Italian Restaurant. There is now a bar and more of an upscale feeling. There are some oddities like they blast 1970s music and have the TVs going at the bar which seems less upscale. It could be a Florida thing. I ordered the vodka pasta dish. The sauce was good flavor-wise. The noodles were ok, not particularly tender. The serving size was generous then again it was just noodles and some sauce. I found the server staff were pleasant. However, there was seemingly a long wait between order and delivery. Overall the dining experience was fine. I assume the owners will refine the quirks as the restaurant matures. read more

After seeing their food on Instagram, I ordered delivery to give them a try. Delivery was done through DoorDash and was quick. The food was well packaged. Meatballs: The sauce was very oily. Meatballs had good flavor and were tender. Cacio E Pepe: Tasted fresh and flavorful Lasagna: layers of meat, cheese, sauce and noodles. It tasted fresh. Paccheri Alla Vodka: The sauce didn't have much flavor. Pappardelle and mushrooms: It was oily and didn't have a strong flavor to it. Mushrooms and pasta were fresh. Overall, I found the food to be okay. The pastas all needed more sauce. Not sure if it was soaked up by the noodles during delivery, or if they are served drier than I prefer. Visited the newer spot tonight. (been Italian as long as we can remember, but new owners, menu, branding). It's a large footprint for Oakland Park. I was surprised to read others complain about the service because our server was very kind, accommodating and attentive. We also encountered another staff member who thanked us for coming in and asked how everything was. Nothing but great on service! Luckily, that greatness also translated in their food. We had pizza and chicken parm. Portions were HUGE and everything was hot and delicious. The prosciutto and arugula ($19) "small" was anything but. It was thin, crispy and loaded with toppings! Two people can def share this. The chicken parma John was plenty for two meals ($26) and they had zero issue with me requesting a sub for my side of spaghetti to angel hair with Alfredo. Appreciate that! I took an antipasto salad home to the hubs, and although it was a good portion and fresh it did lack in meats and cheeses for a $15 price tag. We actually counted and it only had 1 round slice of salami. Other reviews mentioned something similar so maybe take note, Camille's? They have a great bar area with TVs and plenty of seating for those wanting something a little more casual. Their pasta is made fresh, in house, daily. I really want to try the mushroom pasta. Loved visiting this cozy spot tucked away in unassuming strip mall. Easy to find, I did have to circle the block a couple times to find parking, as it is fairly limited in the front of the building. Once inside, I was impressed with the elegance of the space, while not feeling pretentious. I met a group here, and we lingered over multiple dishes of many varieties. The food is incredible! The service needs some tweaking. The ambiance is very relaxing and the staff are extremely friendly. This was only their second weekend in business, so there are those moments when things don't run smoothly. I had to remind our server/bartender about our frito misto appetizer.
