Personally, I thought he took his time and helped me understand what I was experiencing. I think he hears just enough about you and what you're experiencing to know how to help. I see some negative reviews about the receptionist and personally I think she is great. She may not answer the phone but she will respond to your emails within an hour. You do have to keep in mind that she is one person with the doctor so I'm not sure how much time she actually has to even answer a call. If you do have a hard time reaching out I would recommend emailing them as they will get back to you extremely fast.

Only been here once, plenty of parking available. They are located in a building that shares…read morevarious offices, 2nd floor. So aside from waiting nearly 20min past my appointment time, it was an alright first visit. Staff was friendly, place was clean. Loved the children's artwork on the wall. Dr. J is an interesting man, haha. Though he speaks quickly and sometimes could seem aggressively, he seems thorough with his methods. I'm interested to see how follow up sessions pan out. I appreciate his straight forwardness (if that's even a word). I don't like the dance around the subject, sugar coat and tell you want to hear type stuff, so I feel in this sense he is quite authentic with his methods. Will update upon further visits!

I am writing this review based on an outsider's perspective. I was not a patient here. However,…read moresomeone very close to me was and based on my observations, I cannot in good faith give this place a positive review. Is the person who stayed here better off now than when they arrived? That's not for me to say, they can speak for themselves. What I can say that really is my issue with this place is how much they literally cut off the patients from the outside world. Their phone "policy" or whatever they call it is sad. Three 15-minute calls a week, if that. Don't get me wrong, in no way am I saying this is some kind of party line, absolutely not. These people come to this facility for a reason and rules and restrictions are in place for a reason. However, there is another perspective to this. Some people need that love and support from their family and friends, if they are lucky enough to have it. If your loved one was at this facility, you never knew if or when you'd get a call. If you happened to miss the call for any reason; work, weather, etc... you could not call back, so you both end up missing out. This can create unnecessary negative feelings to everyone involved. This can be very difficult when you're thousands of miles away as, as we were, let alone away from each other while in the same town. Does this facility even give a damn? My impression is no! Plus, they listen in to all the calls, violating privacy of both the patient and other person. To me, that's disgusting. It's not enough for someone to voluntarily admit to better themselves, nope; their privacy and dignity leave at the entrance. All of this I'm sure comes at a very hefty price $$$. It's extremely difficult to put in words how much BCOTB has meant to us and our son. However, I…read morewant other parents to know how special this place is, so I'll try... Our son had just turned 2 and my wife was concerned with a couple behaviors he had been exhibiting. They were rather subtle, so I didn't pick up on anything. This was very much "mother's intuition." Even our pediatrician thought he was fine. We took him to see a child psychologist to be proactive (Dr. Danielle Sutton in Tampa was amazing), and after observation, she diagnosed him with ASD. It was difficult to hear, but we got him into therapy right away. He has been going to BCOTB since April 2015 and he absolutely loves it. He has worked with several therapists since then and they are all amazing, special people who we trust completely. In the past few years, it has been nothing short of remarkable to see his progress. When looking at the charts that quantify his progress, it shows him almost caught up to where he should be. But as his dad and interacting with him, I don't need to see charts to tell how much BCOTB has helped him. We feel absolutely blessed to have BCOTB in our lives. We actually took our son to see Dr. Sutton 6 months into therapy to see what she thought of his progress. She was ecstatic. She made a comment that I thought was worth sharing. After observing our son, she said (and I'm paraphrasing) "Whatever BCOTB is doing is working wonders. Unfortunately, many kids come in after going to an ABA clinic, and they just do 'pony tricks.' It's not really developmental progress or social skills and it gives ABA a bad name." And I wanted to say, as a dad/parent, don't be afraid. If you feel something is off with your child, no matter how slight, take your child to be evaluated. Don't be so afraid of a potential diagnosis that you don't get them the help they need. The sooner you intervene, the bigger the impact therapy can have. I have seen other parents "wait it out" and hope their child catches up, and it's heartbreaking. Every day counts.
