My partner made the mistake of helping cover some of the contractor's expenses upfront, and the project was never finished. We were left with doors that don't open, doors held on with liquid nails, unfinished cabinets, a dented dryer, and incomplete painting throughout the laundry room. After paying, the contractor sent a Formal Notice of Termination and left the job in an unacceptable state. His contract stated (the project is substantially complete) whatever that means.... We had several quotes (few in the 6 digits). My husband and I just couldn't agree on which one to choose from. The quotes were either too high or did not on design, and sometimes both. I called STL Design and Build Design, setup an appointment as my last resort. STL Design sent Tom Levinson. Mr. Levinson arrived earlier than time with his assistant. This is definitely a rare. We went through the areas for remodeling. Tom sat me down and listen to all I wanted to do. Then it came down to the details and pricing. The wants an can't live without. We finished with an estimated quote that we were very happy with. Tom was wonderful. He gave me sound advice on my selections for the kitchen remodel. He went through the cost, time-line, and process. Tom went to warehouses with me for selections on the items. Matthew Pevehouse, thank goodness for him. I had a family emergency out-of-state. Matt took care of everything for us. The whole crew were wonderful. Matt took pictures and kept me up to date. If there was an issue it was quickly resolved. My husband and I are thrilled with the results. The look is absolutely fabulous, the craftsmanship and quality of products excellent, and done on time. Thank You STL for a wonderful experience. This custom work required a large siding brake and a good amount of skill. Not only was he able to come out in just a few days, he did the work fast, with high quality and for a good price! Buyer beware! The…read moreShower Company is a fraud, run by David Schrable--a pathological liar and an incompetent contractor. He was featured in one of the news shows as a new company with a great business ethic and fair pricing. We took a chance on you Schrable!! We were very misguided. I watched the interview recently and laughed at his shameless self promoting. He does shoddy work and he knows it. He lies through his teeth over and over and over again,and then does a disappearing act when he is confronted. His parter Curtis admitted that they did a terrible job, but said he had no explanation for it!!! How can that be possible ? He and others who worked for Schrable on our 2 bathrooms said that he routinely makes promises to clients that he can't keep, for work that he can't do. That is the most truthful thing anyone involved with The Shower Company has ever said. In our last conversation with Schrable we confronted him with the unfinished work and cheap fixtures he installed, that I wanted these replaced with higher end fixtures that we paid for! In this bizarre conversation he said repeatedly thst he knows he failed us, He said it over and over again. We told him how disappointed we were, but that there were still things he could do to fulfill his contract. He didn't even have a copy of our contract! I had to send him a copy. No way to even understand such a level of incompetence and unprofessional conduct. He agreed he would swap out the cheap fixtures and said he'd get back to us the next day. We are still waiting 2 months later! I've never encountered anyone as shady, or a bigger liar than David Schrable. He took nearly 30,000K from us. We signed a contract at the end of March, for work thst began towards the end of April. At the end of September, he has never called us back or finished any of the things he promised. We are now considering legal action against this creep. Don't EVER hire this company.
