Communication with the owner was exceptional from start to finish. No long wait times, no back-and-forth delays--just clear, prompt, and professional responses that made coordination effortless. What impressed me most was their ability to perform under extremely challenging conditions. With 25-30 mph wind gusts and a three-story exterior to paint, I fully expected delays. Instead, they performed absolute magic. Their precision, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the job done safely and correctly were remarkable. This project was for one of our premier rentals in Alexandria, and the final result looks fantastic. I would absolutely use JZ Painting again for future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for a reliable, high-quality painting crew. We hired That 1 Painter in Loudoun County to paint the interior of our 4,500 square foot home in…read moreNovember 2024. At first we met with Mitch from sales who promised us the world. He said the entire project, a fully furnished house, would be finished in one week. He told us we would not have to move out and that every door and surface would be covered. He also said our kitchen cabinets would be painted outside so we could safely store our boxed up kitchen items in the garage. Based on his promises and the company's online reviews, we moved forward. Once work started the story was very different. Brian, who led the actual painting crew, explained a longer timeline and a different process. In reality the job took much longer than one week and we did have to move out for several days. We also learned that we should not have stored our kitchen things in the garage because the cabinets were painted in that space, so we had to move everything a second time. There were also major miscommunications and mistakes. We gave permission for the crew to pull up carpet edges to paint the trim but instead they cut the carpet. With four pets and two kids that meant we had no choice but to immediately replace the carpet entirely. Their recommended carpet vendor then came in, scratched up freshly painted walls, and those areas had to be painted again. On top of that their paint supplier mixed our primary color wrong, which required repainting large sections of the house. While Brian and his crew worked hard and did a solid job with the painting, there was a huge disconnect between the promises Mitch made in sales and what the operations team could realistically deliver. The crew also had to take apart things like cabinets, closet systems, and window trim, but they did not put them back together properly. We had to go behind them and fix or reassemble much of it ourselves. One closet system even fell out of the wall a few months later. Most of the paint has held up, but there are more spots than there should be in high traffic areas such as doors, cabinets, and our trash drawer that already need touch ups less than a year later. When I reached out to see if they would stand by their work as many contractors do within a year, Mitch made it clear they would not. Overall I feel for Brian and his crew because they worked hard to meet unrealistic goals. However the gap between what was sold and what was actually delivered, combined with the lack of accountability afterward, left us very disappointed.

Here's a breakdown of the work: - Finished construction of an unfinished basement - Herbert guided me through the entire floor plan, explaining the electrical layout, wall placements, and ideal appliance orientation - Built a kitchen from scratch -- excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail - Painted the entire house, including ceilings, walls, floors, and even the garage They completed all of this in just over two weeks, working 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. The quality of the work was outstanding. Herbert was reliable, responsive, and extremely accommodating. I had multiple change requests during the job, and he handled all of them without hesitation. After getting several quotes, Herbert's pricing was the most competitive. All work was completed to code and with professionalism. If you're looking for a skilled, jack-of-all-trades contractor, Herbert is your guy. He brings in specialists for larger tasks (electrical, plumbing, landscaping, etc.) and manages the project seamlessly. I'll definitely be calling him for future work on my properties and strongly recommend him to others.

When I bought my home 13 years ago, I planned to paint the walls myself to cover the mustard yellow the previous owner had used on all the interior walls. Despite my intentions, I never found the right time for such a huge project; it felt overwhelming, and time ticked on, and I discovered I had settled for living with a color I hated. I realized I needed help, and it wouldn't hurt to get an estimate from a professional. I'd seen Jett Painting sponsored youth sports with ads at the fields, so I figured if they were giving back to their community, I should call them first. Nate arrived promptly and gave me a fair price that pushed me over the edge to give up on doing this big project myself and let his crew take care of it. The crew finished in a day and a half what would likely have taken me four to six weeks. I'm SO GLAD I hired his professional crew! When I saw the results, there was no way I could ever make my home look as nice as they did. The crew covered the floors, then patched and repaired the drywall spots and nail holes; next, they sanded it all down, and then came the exciting part: watching the old color disappear as it took on a new, brighter color. His crew had a steady hand and made perfect cut lines at the ceiling and around the trim. I'm positive I would have botched it up. What do I regret? Not calling Jett Painting years ago. Don't be like me and waste years looking at walls that don't make you happy. Give Jett Painting a call, and you'll be as happy with your new walls as I am.

He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work. I felt compelled to pay him extra. Deck Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wELQYf0YGKY
