Then I found Gainz and Shreds. I will admit I was a little bit skeptical - this seemed too good to be true. Choose and customize your protein amount? Lots of veggie choices? Double veggies instead of carbs? Ability to order a single meal through DoorDash? Not outrageously priced? Really? All of that? But it's true! Very convenient to order through DoorDash, Food is prepared well and tastes great. 3 minutes in the microwave does the job, and a healthy (for me, higher protein) lunch or dinner is ready. It doesn't get much better than that. Look forward to continuing my support for this business.

Well, dinner. We started with a roasted butternut squash soup. I love butternut squash soup - making it, eating it, so I thought, okay! And then I had some; and that was when the evening took everybody on a tabletop road trip to Napa. The warm bowl carried the gold of sunny afternoon gardens. Seriously, all my future homemade soups will forever be reaching back to that bowl. What next? Mixed green salad, filet mignon, with hummus & pita bread for the table. The salad was so fresh and beautiful: cherry tomatoes, orange wedges, avocado and pine nuts, all bursting with flavor and color. The filet mignon was amazingly tender and so sweet, the way it can be when it's exceptional. The hummus was light and fit so well with the mild balsamic vinegar on the salad. Whatever bite I took, each flavor held the other flavors up. I was halfway through the dinner before it hit me that I needed to take photo of this. I will try to add it to the gallery - you can see how gorgeous, I only wish I took it from the start! Food can make or break a party. When it's bad, it makes you want to leave. When it's great, it's all you can talk about. Who knew that a catered meal could make us all feel so appreciated as guests, like we were the ones being celebrated! The Health Taste elevated the entire evening and impressed. Organic, local, delicious food - I could eat like this every day!

Beforehand, we worked with Jessica to develop an all-vegan menu, and she prepared a tasting meal for us. We wanted our wedding meal to be southern-themed, and Jessica came up with creative and tasty all-vegan options - macaroni and cheese, grits, collard greens, biscuits, bbq tofu, and a peach salad! Plus vegan fried chicken and waffles as an appetizer that guests raved about. We were very pleased with the tasting and decided to hire her for our wedding. The pandemic put our plans on a year+ long hiatus, but Jessica stayed in contact with us throughout and made herself available on the day of our wedding. She also made time to come by the wedding venue a few weeks beforehand to scope things out, which was really helpful. On the wedding day, Jessica showed up right on time, and dinner was ready exactly when it was needed. She also worked with us on pandemic-related precautions, which was appreciated. Overall, it was a really great experience, and we highly recommend Jessica and Humble Bumble Catering.
