We had a challenging job that involved some beloved plants that grow very close to the windows and feared they would all be trampled! Awesome! Father and son team arrived and installed two custom privacy curtains within an hour! I called them after hours, left a message and got a reply within 30 minutes. We texted back and forth about the job and they sent a rep with fabric sample book to price out the job which is a very simple privacy curtain that most other companies would be too busy to do. As it turns out the fabric I picked out had been discontinued and they brought over another sample book. We picked out a new fabric and the curtains were installed within the week. Be very wary of this business. Vince responded to my call and gave me an estimate very quickly which is why I gave 1 star. I requested some sample fabric from the factory which he said he ordered. After a few weeks, I called him for a progress report on the fabric samples. He said he was just told that the fabric prices would increase and affect my order. I called the fabric factory to confirm the increase and they said it wasn't true. He lied to me to try to close the deal. CalShades changed our world such that we were able to be outside (and socialize) on two sides of our house during the Covid lockdown. Previously, we couldn't hang out outside at all until it was dusk because there was no shade. We liked the first one so much we added another. Adding two retractable awnings was like creating two outdoor rooms. One was 20 feet wide and the other 10 feet. Vince & co were very responsive whenever I texted or called. The prices we paid were always the same as the initial quote. We did have a problem with the 20 ft awning that resulted in a tear in the material 10 months after installation. Vince came out and determined that it wasn't our fault. He sent a team to remove the old awning, ordered new material and replaced the old awning, no charge. I highly recommend CalShades. read more
