I've always envied dog owners who could have their dogs in public places and around other dogs without struggling to hold them and not pulling them all over the place. After researching several dog training services, I settled on Off Leash K9 training. Both Nathan and Beth worked with Ranger, and he responded extremely well to their methods and the eCollar, but even more importantly is the time they took with me helping me to understand how to continue the training between lessons. It doesn't matter how well your dog does during your one hour lessons if you are not willing to put in the the time everyday to reinforce the lessons. I would highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training to anyone who wants an obedient dog who is a pleasure to have with you as a companion in any situation. We can now take Ranger to farmer's markets, dog-friendly restaurants, the beach, wherever dogs are welcome. We continue to work on his commands on our evening walks, take him to places that provide distractions so we can get even better at being in those situations, and keep reinforcing his obedience with tons of "Good boy" praises and lots of love. We had our first training session today with Heather. For reference we have three dogs, all with…read morevery different problems: separation anxiety, stranger danger and stubbornness. She spent several hours with us. First reviewing each dog's behavior and then working with each dog separately and then together. She made sure we understood each step of the process and had a good foundation to train the dogs after she left. All three are currently happily passed out and we are so excited to see what daily training will add to their confidence and behavior! We love that Heather/Bark Busters are available any time and can come back as frequently as we need and are committed to our dogs through every stage and change of their lives. I should have left them when this happened the first time but it took me two times to learn my lesson. The sitter did not show up when supposed to and left both of my rescue pups to wallow in their feces and vomit. Both are house broken and one of them was able to hold it but the younger one could not. Our hearts were broken when we got home from work that day. We rescued them to remove them from these types of situations not put them back in them. I was a customer for over 9 months (4 times a week) and spent over $3000 with them. Assume nothing with them and use at your own risk, hopefully your pets will not be tortured as well. I usually don't do things like this, I just want to try to save the heartbreak for owners and potential poor treatment for your pets.

I was half-way across the country at the time and worried sick. She charged my card in full before formally accepting the job, was rude, and her threats made our trip more torture than vacation. While Amy seemed to be great and really enthused at the beginning, it became clear the "pay ahead"…read moredeal she has going was less genuine than you would assume. After our first three sessions, (one of which she showed up an hour late for), we struggled finding times that she could come to work with us and our pets. She then informed us after our first three May/June sessions that she didn't work evenings or weekends at all through the summer. This was never mentioned before and would have been something we would have never been able to agree to had we known. Prior to this review, (and after she informed us of her seasonal hours), cordial attempts and requests were made at simply refunding our remaining unused sessions in light of this "scheduling misunderstanding" so that we could both move forward. She told us this wasn't possible and that she didn't provide refunds. While she is able to claim she will provide the services, she makes scheduling nearly impossible and eventually you quit trying and she keeps the prepaid training costs. In our case it amounted to a loss for us of over $200.00. While we would like to hope this was a unique and unfortunate situation, we have since talked to several friends and neighbors who have had similar experiences. Absolute obedience is extremely expensive and from the start offers a service that others don't- in home training for your pets with you. However, I would caution anyone about getting involved with this business- there is a great deal of fine print and unmentioned details. From our experience, this seems to be more of a scam and less of someone interested in meeting the needs of clients.
