I have had consistently awesome experiences at this Petsmart for grooming. Jensen, Maggie, Shannon, Savannah, and really the whole staff is phenomenal, and they are open on weekends, or later in the day for your busy schedule. They offer a military/veteran discount of 10% on Tuesdays for grooming, and Petsmart itself does price matching to other pet stores, just snap a pic if you find a price cheaper. PetSmart is a big box pet store, and this one feels bigger and less personal than most. It can be difficult to get personal assistance, and there doesn't seem to be much thought other than cramming as much product on the shelf as possible. I always seem to have to wait in a three person or more line to check out. And don't get me started on the app or order for pickup ... two attempts, neither very fulfilling. I'll be back because it's the biggest option ... but not because I like it. read more

My dog Teddy had an appointment at 8 am. This is his first grooming experience ever. They let my husband know it could take 3/4 hours because someone new was cutting him and they may need a little longer. At 5 hours I called to see if he was done where they told me 50 more minutes! I was devastated. When I arrived they were being rough with Teddy, giving me a glare look for standing there watching and even asked me to move. His nail clipping lasted a whole 2 minutes. This is the LAST time I will ever give them my business. I am appalled I even left Teddy there for 6 hours. Also noting they are not "allowed" to allow dogs a restroom break as it is against policy, so our puppy also sat for 6 hours without a break. Lastly, the price was NOT what the PetSmart app said. They tacked on a fee for using scissors as well. read more

Got a chance to visit Petsmart today to grab my furbaby some treats. This is one of my favorite spots to purchase my dog essentials. The shelves are always stocked with great products! There has never been a time I visited that I didn't find what I needed. The staff is very friendly, always greeting you with a smile and available with any questions and concerns. Staff was friendly and did a pretty good job grooming my dog, however was disappointed to see how busy (didn't seem like a very calm environment for a dog to be groomed in) and cramped the grooming area was and it was very dirty. It looks like they just groomed a dog and went onto the next with out cleaning up any of the fur. There was fur all over everything. When I picked my dog up she was also covered in loose cut fur. read more

Groomers were rude and not good. Had an 11 lb rescue whose owner passed that was very scared. Refused to be patient and then refused to groom him, leaving a stripe of shaved hair down his back. Bought some clippers and did the job myself. Would think the pros would be good at calming dogs. read more

I am extremely upset my the service I received at PetSnart. First of all, I went in the get my son (chameleon (his name is Remy (from ratatouille))) some food and they had no options of worms or crickets and when I asked when they'd get some they got frustrated and said I don't know. HOW DO YOU JUST NOT KNOW???? WHAT IF MY SON WAS DYING???? THEN WOULD YOU KNOW??? And then. We went to go get a beta fish, which I've had fish all my life I may add, and when we were purchasing him (we already were emotionally attached... his name was Danny devito) the lady said we couldn't get him unless we got the giant tank (which was exorbitantly expensive) EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAD A MASSIVE BOWL AT HOME (which I told her)... AND SHE DENIED ME. THAT FOOL NOW HAS TO SOEND EVEN MORE TIME IN A BARELY FILLED 8oz cup when he could have been living in luxury in the tank in my home. This is a really big pet store filled with everything and anything your pet could possibly need. Great variety of pet food, pet accessories, crates, toys, aquarium supplies. It's a one stop pet shop. They have a small vet in the back. They do training and also grooming. They even have some pets for adoption. Great idea! The staff is still a little unknowledgeable. I'm sure with time that will improve. Also the store has a pet odor which I hope will also improve with time. You kinda get surprised with a whiff when you walk in. I try to give a new location the benefit of the doubt whenever I visit, thinking that issues such as poor customer service and so on make it just a "bad day" to visit. However when I contacted the PetSmart on Two Notch Rd., Columbia looking for a cat groomer ( since they are hard to locate in my area ) I was unaware of the train wreck that would follow. The Two Notch Rd location referred me to the PetSmart on Fort Jackson Blvd which was a new store. I happily called to make an appt. for my cat expecting nothing out of the ordinary. My husband dropped our cat off and a couple hours later he told me that I had to pick our cat up since he was unable to be groomed ( washed, clipped, etc ). I was surprised since our cat had been professionally groomed multiple times and my husband said that the ambiance noise at this location caused too much stress and the groomer wasn't comfortable with continuing. Begrudgingly, I walked into this PetSmart to find the walk-in closet-sized grooming facility where I was told the groomer had attempted to groom my cat an arms-length away from multiple barking dogs! There was hardly enough space for the groomer to pass in between the grooming tables, no wonder they couldn't groom my cat! I asked why they didn't attempt to groom cats in a different area away from all the dogs, but was told they didn't have the space to. I was also told that they don't get a lot of requests to groom cats but when they do sometimes the owners have to bring the cats back 2/3 times in order to finish a grooming because of the stress level! Who in the world would subjugate their cat to this squished, hostile and stressed environment more than once?! Again I want to give this location possible credit in the area of dog grooming, they may be very good. But if your looking for a cat groomer (unless your cat(s) are used to dogs and or dogs barking inches from their face ) do not bring them to this location! You'll save yourself time and your cats sanity! read more

I really enjoyed going to this PetSmart. The prices are a little high but that's normally at any PetSmart you go to. I got here mainly for The Grooming Salon. They do a great job taking care of my yellow lab. And they are very professional. When I walked in there early this morning when they first open, it was completely hectic in there. But everyone kept their cool and have all the Situation's under control. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I love to take my dog here. I usually let him get a pig ear or two. Those are pretty cheap, about $3 bucks a pop. I usually don't buy anything else from here though, the prices are jacked up pretty high in comparison to other stores. The service is okay. My favorite part is that it's somewhere I can take my dog, to get him out of the house. I do wish they had more reasonable prices. But every now and then they have good sales and discounted items. read more

I love the actual store, the staff is friendly and they have a great selection! However, I will be changing groomers after my negative experience! I am a first time fur mama and I was called by the groomer who was very dramatic! She said my dog didn't want his face touched, (, my 6 year old nephew touches his face all the time and it's never been an issue)his nails clipped ( what dog does?) , and that his anal glands were red, did I know that? That he needed to go to the vet right then and there etc. I was so upset, took him to the vet, they said it wasn't that bad, did what they had to do, and sent me on my way. My dog is older, very calm, and never aggressive. She made me feel like I was a bad dog mama, and that my dog was hard to work with. read more

I will never be bringing my dog here again. I had an appointment at 9:30 and I am still waiting for my dog to be finished up (almost 3 hours later). I have a small dog that doesn't even go above your knee and his hair isn't even that long, just wanted a nice puppy trim. But instead of the receptionist being courteous enough to apologize for my long wait I had to actually ask for a discount. To make the situation better the groomer that I was scheduled with didn't even show up so someone else had to step in. Just went to the store to try and buy a tiny Guppy for my children at home. I have a 3 gallon tank and the lady told me I could not buy a fish at the store because I needed a 10 gallon tank. Are used to have three of those fish and two frogs in that tank and that lady needs to chill out because a 1 inch Guppy does not need 10 gallons to swim around in! I mean we just wanted a fish!
