I just terminated a relationship with Pet sitting by Denise due to what I would consider animal cruelty. I should have left them when this happened the first time but it took me two times to learn my lesson. The sitter did not show up when supposed to and left both of my rescue pups to wallow in their feces and vomit. Both are house broken and one of them was able to hold it but the younger one could not. Our hearts were broken when we got home from work that day. We rescued them to remove them from these types of situations not put them back in them. I was a customer for over 9 months (4 times a week) and spent over $3000 with them. Assume nothing with them and use at your own risk, hopefully your pets will not be tortured as well. I usually don't do things like this, I just want to try to save the heartbreak for owners and potential poor treatment for your pets. read more

Can I give less than 1 star? We used Denise for about 5 times in a year and what started off as a good thing, became something that I was okay with (several rude comments that I overlooked) and ended terribly. I had to fire her mid-job and find a replacement while out of town. She threatened my dogs, called my parents (the emergency number) and was extremely rude and bossy to them, and then took her time returning the remainder of my money when I had to fire her mid-job and have someone else take over. I was half-way across the country at the time and worried sick. She charged my card in full before formally accepting the job, was rude, and her threats made our trip more torture than vacation. I have used this service for many years. I have had several sitters with this business including Denise herself. They have all been excellent. Denise has been approachable and available anytime there were special circumstances. This is my 4th cat over the last 20 plus years. The sitters provided medical treatment when needed and always left notes about their routine and behaviors. When needed they brought in the mail, rolled out the trash, watered plants, let the cat go outside when I requested it, etc. They follow instructions that I leave and it is obvious to me they love my animals too. When Denise and the sitter came for the initial interview years ago, both immediately got on their knees and crawled under my dining room table to approach and calm my timid cat.That impressed me. Over the last couple of decades they have been dependable, competent, honest and willing to work with me when special situations arise. Once I left my pet for 3 weeks but my pet faired exceptionally well in spite of the length of time I was gone. We used the "lunch visit" service weekly for about four months for our blind and deaf dog. Denise always arrived within the stated time frame, fed and walked her and left a note with what took place. We could tell that Denise cared about our dogs well being. Our work schedules would at times change unexpectedly and Denise was easy to work with on short notice. This business is very poorly run, and the owner is fairly rude. Further, it is very expensive. It is 30% more than I was paying in Atlanta, which is obviously a much more expensive city in general. It is a shame that there are so few options for pet sitting in Columbia. I'd recommend finding an individual on Care.com instead. read more

Ive been using Denise for years and Ive Always found her to be the BEST in this area! I had a lot of "pop-up" appointments I had to get to and Denise always helped me out. She or one of her staff always arrived early giving me time to get to where I had to go. They took EXCELLENT care of my dog. That was important because I didnt want to leave him with just anybody. Usually, I had Denise and I could tell that she really liked him and that he liked her too. She really cares about all animals and took the time with me more than once to answer a question! read more

Worst Service ever! The first day the pet sitter did not even show. I asked for a refund this day and have yet to receive my refund. To top it off my neighbors told me the pet sitter would show for just a few minutes before leaving again. My dogs are completely potty trained but went on the carpet multiple times and it's probably from a lack of being let out. My poor babies should NEVER be treated like this. I sort of agree with the other comments. We live in Irmo and my fiancee and I recently used their service for the first time in a while. The owner is rude and her communication skills make her sound very uneducated. The previous pet sitter we had wasn't very enthusiastic about his job, but our pet sitter this time was wonderful. She came on time, stayed as long as she was supposed to (based on my neighbor's observations), sent me text updates and photos, and left detailed notes about her visits for us to read when we came home. My dogs were happy and clean when we got home and we knew they had been well loved in our absence. I wish I could hire her instead of going through the company because she was much more pleasant to deal with. read more

If I could give a negative star, I would. The owner (Denise) is rude and quite difficult to talk to. She offers random comments and unsolicited advice. Her emails sound like they are being written by a 14 year old girl (ie: RU going 2 fill out UR client info?). Her sitters are good, but having to deal with her isn't worth it. I do not recommend the company at all so do yourself a favor and look elsewhere (or steal one of her sitters). read more
