I knew from the other reviews and from speaking with Katie, that she could do the job. I called on very short notice, she went out of her way to get her in before she had to go back to school. Katie is super sweet, a very attentive listener, has rock star cutting skills, and knew without a doubt how to fix the mess she was presented with. My daughter left happy and so did I, and since that time, Katie has been doing my hair every 7 weeks, and my daughter's when she comes into town. I even joked with her, "I'm not going to want to shave my head after this, am I ?". Yes, a joke but not having gone to a professional salon in several years...a joke not a joke? I'm 64 with a lot of grey that in the past, I cut/colored myself... Suffice it say, it was damaged, brassy, and had a hard demarkation from the grow out. I put blind faith in Christine today and once she was through, I almost couldn't believe it. Not only did she listen and pay attention to our initial conversation, it was Obvious that she absolutely knows what she is doing and has been in the industry long enough to show it. Christine is very personable, easy to talk with, and is a real person with nothing to prove. I can't say enough about Christine as a person, and the results of her work with my hair is just a snippet as to her overall talents. I'd gone to Lee because I usually like a salon who's experienced with Asian hair chemistry, but my hair looks worse after the cut. I so wanted to support a small, woman-owned business. The only reason she didn't get a one star is because she also cut my husband's hair and his looks okay. Not fantastic, since the sides aren't blended very evenly (you can see the line instead of an even gradation) but it's passable. Mine however is disastrous. I'd grown it out for 3 months but now I have to start over. Her prices are not as cheap as they seem at first glance. For short hair, she charges $24. For mine (just below shoulder) she charged $30. This is without any washing/shampooing or styling. At the end of my haircut she must've seen my dismay so she became defensive saying "the HAIRCUT is good. Now it's up to YOU to style it to make it look like the photo." Of course styling plays a role, but even after going home to wash and blow dry it myself twice now, I still look... like a mushroom. Honestly, I'm devastated, but I suppose receiving a less than ideal haircut is a rite of passage for moving into a new city.
