I have been a client of this Salon for a few years. I am always stressed out and worry while I am driving to my appointment that the 4 Parking spaces that the Salon has exclusively will be full. My nightmare became a reality recently. The Salon is located in downtown Oregon City with the County Courthouse a 1/2 block away. The street metered parking is always full. I drove around the town for 10 minutes and then gave up. I texted my hairdresser that I was headed home and she was NOT understanding of my dilemma. Worst salon experience ever!! For a "high end salon" price, I got Great Clips work done. Raechel did a sub par job to say the least! What I got for $100: -Grey roots visibly showing -Uneven highlights so I can't wear my hair to either side or middle really, looks horrible all ways! -ONE highlight on either side of my hair!!! -My requests were completely ignored and she did whatever she wanted to my hair! -Snarky and condescending attitude -At the end of the appointment, I expressed that I was expecting something different, her response was to IGNORE me! Didn't say a word! - Did not offer to fix my hair, nada, zip! Tried to convince me I needed a color correction because my roots grew out‍. I've never had a stylist tell me I needed a color correction to do my roots!! Again, Great Clips could have done a better job with their eyes closed! Crappy service all around! read more

Parking is always a challenge when you go here and my latest experience was frustrating to say the least. I had to circle and circle a 5-6 block area until I could get a spot. Now the problem with parking isn't Modele's fault per se, but when you locate in an area with astoundingly crappy parking, I think you own some of that. So when I called them to say I was still looking for a spot and I'll be a bit late, the receptionist went from a pleasant "Modele Salon. Can I help you?" to a condescending and salty "You need to look around for spots. There are always spots when I come to work. Don't try to just park close." Oooooooh. I need to LOOK for spots. And look far away. Gee thanks. I could never have figured that out without that stellar tip. I was circling from KFC to the paper mill, for Pete's sake. I was going the full gd length of Main Street! So in spite of the fact the I thought the hairstylist was okay, I'm done fighting for parking. I'm going elsewhere. read more

I tried to find the owner's contact information so reviewing would be a last resort but I can't find so much as the name, so here we are. I will refrain from naming the stylist but it was my first time going there and I left totally disappointed and out $200. The stylist gossiped about several people, including paying clients, immediately after starting my service. She informed me that she anticipated me not knowing what I was booking so she had told another client she could squeeze him in before her next client. She seemed visibly annoyed when in fact I did know what I was doing (I have a cosmetology license) and rushed through it, doing a poor job and leaving me brassier than I had arrived. I had to insist she fix it after she said that no one else would notice, only me. Am I not the only one who matters here?? No blowout or styling included and I left with semi wet, frizzy hair. Anyways, I left feeling totally uncomfortable and let down at the price. I gave two stars because there were at least one or two stylists out of 4 who seemed like they had a good attitude. I discovered Julie and Modele Salon last summer after I bought a "free" haircut and color weave through my daughter's school auction. I had just decided to cheat on my hairdresser after the last time she stood me up. (Ok, when I get up the guts, I'll write up a review on THAT salon). Oregon City has recently started to move up on the chic scale (we finally may have a few places that can just register on it) and Modele Salon fits right in perfectly! Their website doesn't have much info on it, but it's worth a look to see the funky photos. What do I love about Modele? They are always prompt at getting me in and are flexible with my schedule. The girls are all very sweet and professional. No one smells like cigarette smoke and they're all gorgeous. Every time Julie does my hair, she makes me feel just as gorgeous. It might have something to do with the trance she puts you in with the neck and temple massage when she shampoos you. I'm just mush after that. Tres Chic in Oregon City. Who would have thought? When you're done, just walk around the corner to try out the new wine bar (I haven't yet, so I can't review here). read more

I just moved to Oregon City and this salon was recommended to me. I went yesterday and had Raechel as my stylist. WOW! She was SO sweet, listened carefully to the look I was trying to achieve and did exactly as I asked. She also gave input and recommendations - I walked out looking exactly as I had hoped. I also had a terrific customer service experience from the time I walked into the door until I left. When I arrived, I was offered coffee, hot tea or water and the receptionist actually helped move my car when the meter ran out. I couldn't have been more happy and rebooked with Raechel right away. I've been to Modele twice now. I've seen two different stylists (Shannon and Brittany), gotten two very different haircuts, and have loved them both. Can't wait to try out another stylist (variety is fun, and I haven't seen the same stylist twice in a row for years). I'm thrilled to have found a regular place to get my hair done! All the stylists seem really talented and personable, and it's a tastefully appointed salon without being stuffy or intimidating. Prices are mid-range. The only tiny thing is that it would be nice if the different stylists had their own prices listed online, as it does vary. My cut from S. was $30 and the same from B. was $50, for reference. Oh! And Shannon asked if I wanted to donate my hair, as I was cutting enough of it off to qualify. I thought that was really nice, as I hadn't even thought of it, and the last time I had enough hair being cut off to donate, the stylist said it was too much bother. Go Modele! read more

I am a person who rarely changes hair stylists, however I was forced to recently. In fact, I've had longer relationships with hair stylists than both of my marriages combined! I called Modele salon because it's close to work and scheduled with a newer stylist, Cindra Davis. I thought I would try her out based on her availability and the receptionist's recommendation. I've been to Cindra three times now and she is my permanent stylist. I appreciate how much time she took to do a good job with both color and cut. She records the color formula each time. My hair looks great. I've had highlights, lowlights, and a tint. For the highlights she uses high lift instead of bleach and my long hair is healthy. The haircuts have been great, LOTS of compliments. I've never had a problem parking, plenty of 2 hour meters in front. The salon is nice, comfortable, and very up to date without being pretentious or over the top. They always offer something to drink. They use good products, Bumble and Bumble, but are not pushy about selling them. I know Cindra was just in NY with some of the other stylists from Modele for training. It seems they stay up to date with training, which I think is really important. I am used to paying a lot of money for hair color and cut every 8 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised with the prices. They aren't the lowest, but not downtown Portland level either. I think the pricing is completely appropriate. I feel pretty lucky finding Cindra and look forward to a long relationship! read more

Anyhoo, just wanted to say Johnny rescued one of my top 3 worst haircuts (and color) ever and I am eternally grateful. After having such a bad experience at a nearby salon, I was really hesitant to give an Oregon City salon a chance. Today is the first day I have washed and styled my hair since getting it done Wednesday and boy do I feel fabulous. Everyone at work loves my color correction and the cut is awesome. In December 2006, I had a very horrible haircutting experience with a deranged hairdresser; I'd tell the story, but it's a bit traumatizing. Anyway, long story short I was scared away from salons for a while after that. After seven months of neglect, I went to Modele. The only drawback from that first experience? I won't trust anyone else with my hair now. I have some of the world's most obnoxious bangs, but Julie H. is the only hairdresser I've ever had who can tame them. Not only am I always satisfied, but the staff is incredibly hospitable and nice (as are their products). Not only that, but I've actually learned how to manage my hair since I started going here! They've moved behind their old location, but the private lot is great. If you've had bad experiences with other hairdressers, Modele is a great place to go to make amends with your hair. read more

I don't get my hair done often, but am picky when I do break down and do it. So I tried out Modele Salon last time, after driving by many times. And I was very surprised! I got an awesome hair cut, best I've had in years. The entire staff was professional and nice, none of the hair salon "drama" that you get in other places. I gave the stylist my "recipe" from my stylist in So Cal. I was with Shawna. I made an appointment to have her fix what another Salon got wrong. At the other place I asked for a long bob and ended up with a vastly uneven, too short (one side to ear, other just under) fuck up. I knew there wasn't going to be much she could offer me, but instead she helped boost my confidence, discussed a plan of action and gave me a small cleanup at no charge. I absolutely will never go anywhere else again. I bought a BB Curly Cowash & leave in, I was unsure if my curlies would like it, they said the return policy states I can return it within a reasonable time frame (not when the bottle is empty) and that made me feel great that they will stand behind the products they offer. Can I please share how insanely talented Nicole is? She cut my hair for the first time in almost a year and a half because of COVID and having a baby. It looks so great! I can't even begin to explain what a boost this has been for me. The best part is that she showed me how to do a 30 second styling hack that takes my hair from good to wow - I just add 4-6 curls to the front after blow drying - which is something even I can manage. I saw Chelsea and she did an awesome job!! She listened really well to what I was asking for - a natural looking brown lowlight and honey blonde highlight in my blond hair- and it looked perfect. However, I totally changed my mind! After being blonde for so long, even after waiting a few days for the color shock to wear off, I wasn't digging the brown, even as great as it looked. I called her and she fit me in immediately and didn't charge me to redo my entire highlight- another 2.5 hours of her time and products! Of course, I gave her a significant tip and plan to go back. I'm pretty disappointed with my overall experience. The stylist was very friendly, but she was also in a hurry to leave so she could pick up her son, which is understandable. I just wish they had rescheduled me if there was no time to give me a proper haircut. Before I arrived, I received a phone call asking if they could push back my appointment by 30 minutes. I understood, but when I arrived, the stylist was rushed. I felt like she convinced me to grow my hair out so she wouldn't have to spend the time to really cut and style my hair. I was a little unsure about that, but I also wanted to trust her professional opinion. In the end, I spent what seemed like about 15 or 20 minutes in the chair and left with the same haircut I walked in with even though I told her that I really wanted to leave feeling like I got an actual style. I discovered this place the summer after I moved out of LA where my most trusted hair stylist had cut my hair for 4 years. I usually go to Japanese salons because honestly, they have the best training and know how to cut Asian hair. However, I had heard good things about Modele and knew that they were Bumble & Bumble trained so I went there hoping for the best. I got a bob, and while I wouldn't try anything crazy different here, Julie was very meticulous and gave me careful layers that didn't make my hair puff out. The price was also very reasonable, and everyone there is friendly and chatty. I love Modele. My first experience here was a color correction from another salon and Michelle performed a miracle getting my hair back to as close as my natural shade as possible. About a year later I'm back to refresh my balayage and brighten it up a bit and Chelsea definitely delivered. I came in with photos of intense, white blonde ends and she started me with beautiful, all over blonde that I am completely smitten with. She warned me that it might take two sessions to get to that white color. After seeing what it looked like all dryer and styled, I'm not even sure if I'll want to lighten it up anymore! I think my next appointment will be in 10-12 weeks for a toner. If I can go another year between color, I will! The atmosphere here is so calming. In my profession I am required to keep a conversation going with customers and I find that in my free time, I'm not exactly a Chatty Cathy. Chelsea respected that and I almost fell asleep in the chair while she was putting the foils in, it was wonderful! Overall, I love everything about Modele. I've gone to Michelle Kechum at Modele for one year and then switched to Rachel Baker for one year now. They both have done a really good job cutting and styling my long naturally red, fine textured, thick hair. I'm my mid-40's and feel updated and pretty afterwards. These ladies have skilled up-to-date training and pleasant personalities to boot! I've never felt pressured to color my hair or purchase their Bumble and Bumble products. It's taken me a while to have a rapport with receptionist, Crystal. Now, I don't feel she's disinterested or snooty it's just her style of speaking :) So if you're down to earth like me and note this, I can assure you the haircuts I've received there are worth it still. I appreciated that she didn't give me too much grief when I last-minute- canceled an appointment because I'd heard that it's possible that henna treated hair can melt when colored with synthetic dye. Had my hair done today by Rachel for the first time. Amazing!!! Loved loved loved everything she did!!! So I had planned to go to my regular lady but something happened and I just happened to find this place and scheduled an appointment same day and was able to get in quickly!! Rachel asked what i wanted for color and cut I was unsure going in what I wanted done. She showed me some color swatches and she decided on an all over color I was really unsure on if i would like it. She was extremely helpful and understanding. In the end we went with the color she choose after we discussed several options and she did fantastic!!! I love the color she may be new here but is a hair color rockstar that really knows her stuff. I also had my hair cut by her. I have had some bad haircuts or stylist that don't listen she listened and delivered an outstanding hair cut that fit with my lifestyle and hair type. I have been coming to Modele Salon since we moved to Oregon 6 years ago. I am a former cosmetologist so finding a hairstylist is not easy. They were recommended by a friend and I found out they used the same products on my hair, color especially, that I had been using. My hair is white and difficult to hold color. Everyone at the salon has been so wonderful at everything they do! The owner has been my stylist and hair guru! The most amazing part is everyone working there are all trained over the top in every aspect of styling!
