Callejeros has 9 locations. Four of them have the Callejeros Prime brand. What makes it prime is they serve ribeye (ribeye tacos, burritos, quesadillas), wet burritos, and I believe enchiladas. Unfortunately, they were out of the ribeye. This was Friday before 8pm, and they were out? It wasn't even busy. They were also out of their appetizers. Not good. Service was fine, nothing special, and our table was sticky.
We ordered the cochinita pibil tacos and the barbacoa de res tacos, and for dessert the churros. The flavors were on point. The meat seasoned right, the tortillas fresh. Our son still hasn't developed a palate for Mexican food, but he scarfed down the barbacoa taco. The churros were perfect and I loved the vanilla ice cream that came with it. Nice and creamy.
To be honest, I'd give it a 3.5 stars because the tacos and churros came through. But not having appetizers or ribeye (the reason you are prime) available was a big fumble. Hopefully, this was a one time thing and not a regular occurrence. read more
