I love their men's locker room!! it's a clean place to take a nice clean shower and soap up!! I also like their hot tub or spa!! there's plenty of lockers for people using the facility. during the summer, it's the best place to go swimming on a hot summer day for free as long as you are a member of the YMCA!! I also like the indoor pool at the Knowles YMCA because you can swim there all year round practically!! the staff are very honest and courteous!! the YMCA over close to Hy-Vee or the capital mall is a good one too and is the newest one, but it does not have any kind of swimming pool or track. but, it does have lots of machine and free weights, treadmills, exercise bikes, etc. as long as you have a YMCA membership for Jeffferson City, Missouri, then you can use any of the 3 YMCA facilities as long as they are open!! nobody's perfect okay. but, when you go to any YMCA or any gym please use some common sense and don't say anything slang or violent or talk about any kind of negativity or violence because eventually you will lose your memership!! Besides, I'm a 'true Christian myself!!', and it's something you just don't do!! I like to be kind and courteous and 'true Christian-like' at all times when going anywhere especially the YMCA!! I have also used Excel for my daughter's sports injuries. Every visit to Excel is a pleasant experience from the moment you walk in the door, this business runs efficiently! While training for the Chicago marathon, I had a recurring hamstring tightness which caused much pain especialy during the peak training times after those 20 mile runs. I decided to give ART (Active Release Therapy) a try two days before the marathon. Kelly who is a runner herself did the therapy and then did e-stim with heat and then recommended kineseology tape.Thanks to Excel, I had a fabulous, pain -free run.

The counselors don't know how to communicate with 5 and 6 year olds and resort to yelling which ends up scaring and confusing the young kids. I understand the stress. You have a handful of teenagers wrangling more than 4 dozen little kids. But by combining so many kids of varying ages they are helping create the environment. That fact alone is why this is 2 stars instead of 1 but their program needs some serious leadership.
