First of all, I like the YMCAs in Jefferson City, Missouri, but my favorite is the Firley on Ellis…read moreBlvd!! also, I love it because it's based on 'true Christian moral values'!! I love their machine weights and the free weights too!! I like the indoor track better than the treadmills. but, I still like the treadmills, but I prefer the track. I love their men's locker room!! it's a clean place to take a nice clean shower and soap up!! I also like their hot tub or spa!! there's plenty of lockers for people using the facility. during the summer, it's the best place to go swimming on a hot summer day for free as long as you are a member of the YMCA!! I also like the indoor pool at the Knowles YMCA because you can swim there all year round practically!! the staff are very honest and courteous!! the YMCA over close to Hy-Vee or the capital mall is a good one too and is the newest one, but it does not have any kind of swimming pool or track. but, it does have lots of machine and free weights, treadmills, exercise bikes, etc. as long as you have a YMCA membership for Jeffferson City, Missouri, then you can use any of the 3 YMCA facilities as long as they are open!! nobody's perfect okay. but, when you go to any YMCA or any gym please use some common sense and don't say anything slang or violent or talk about any kind of negativity or violence because eventually you will lose your memership!! Besides, I'm a 'true Christian myself!!', and it's something you just don't do!! I like to be kind and courteous and 'true Christian-like' at all times when going anywhere especially the YMCA!! I enjoy going to church, but the Firley YMCA is my favorite place to get a great workout in Jefferson City, Missouri and it will always be #1 in my book!!

If you want to talk to an admin well let's be clear. The admin might have a 2 bit degree from a subpar university making the county average salary. They don't have time to talk to peasants like us.

During my travels to the Jeff, I have now managed to go to all three YMCAs. This YMCA is pretty run…read moredown but as a place to get in a good workout while I'm traveling this spot fits the bill. I didn't explore the entire facility so my review is of the gym portion. The equipment is older and some of it is outdated but it still works. I used one of the newer treadmills which they have programmed to go into cool down mode at 30 minutes. This was kind of annoying since there wasn't anyone else on the treadmills and I wanted to go longer than 30 minutes but I understand why it is necessary to have such a feature during peak times. I just turned off the treadmill and restarted it...problem solved. When I was done with cardio I went to do some free weight exercises and noticed there were only two sets of 12 lbs weights. I was using a set and someone else was using the other so if a third person came over they would have to wait. I noticed that in the lighter weights there only seemed to be two sets of each. There are also only two benches both of which were in use. Some equipment is also a little bit hidden. I was looking for a bosu to do some core exercises and I only found it when I was leaving pushed up against the wall backwards. It would seem like they would have more than one and they wouldn't be so difficult to see. Overall its a bare bones facility that gits 'er done. I got in a good workout so no complaints there. After visiting the beautiful new West location though it seems like it's time to make some improvements to this older location.
