I booked it online, but when I got there they told me there is no such massage. Not only that, but they told me they are "not hooked up to the online system", so they never received my reservation, and that there was no masseuse to help me. Are you kidding me? Update: if you want the best facial service ask for Thi! She is so good at what she does. She explains things to me and gives me an active participation in my service, which I really enjoy. She always gives me a neck/shoulder massage at the end that makes me feel extra pampered I've been coming here for some while now and each time that I come I'm always Blown Away with the hospitality that they give me. They always see me quickly and my facials leave me feeling rejuvenated &relaxed I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a massage or facial. read more

I don't know what's not to like about this place. The smell of the oils may be a bit heady at first, but close your eyes and breathe slowly and I swear all your worries will start to melt away. I came in for a microdermabrasion and my specialist was absolutely AMAZING. I was so relaxed that I forgot to ask for her name before I left! Now I'm going to have to go back and hunt her down. Haha. I have picked this place as it is close to my workplace. I had purchased a package for 5 microdermabrasion. The customer service here is pathetic. The receptionist is rude to me when I did not pick her appointment reminder call. For one of my appointment, I was late by 10mins due to traffic. I have signed in and they sent me to the treatment room, I thought they might have managed the schedule and I'm getting my full facial because they didn't mention to me that my treatment will be shortened. In the middle of my session, the aesthetician tells me your facial is done without a mask. I asked her for the reason? she then told me that I'm late so they are skipping treatment steps. There is no mention of this at the time of the check-in, the aesthetician said she just follows instructions from the reception ladies. The reason for one star is due to bad customer service overall, especially the receptionist is really rude and does not have the minimum courtesy. The owner is never there. I tried to provide my feedback to the owner and again to make sure other customers don't feel that they are cheated like me. I quickly realized they are all the same, even the owner turned out to be just as worse as reception ladies. She said yes we will take care and return my money for unused sittings, she never did. I just left my $300+ unused to just avoid the pain of dealing with rude people. I highly suggest avoiding this place. Bad customer service and low-quality service. Awesome Experience!!!. I started off with a groupon for 2 LED facials and have since upgraded to a 5 facial package. I can't say enough about the service and the experience. Truc has been my service provider each time and I "LOVE" her. I don't know what the other person was talking about her daughter not having a "pink face" from the microdermabrasion. If you have a pink face or red skin - they've worked too hard on your skin. The proof is asking the technician to show you the screen after she finishes the service. I did - mine was full of skin and my face was NOT pink or red. The facility did not smell of smoke in any way. It is always clean and smells great. I've had about 3 different kind of facials so far. I love everything about this place except that some of their linen is ripped and is quite visible. I'm an old, alpha dog male who has never had anything close to a facial in my life. I saw a deal on Groupon and the place is walking distance from my office...so, why not? Had Valerie....she was AWESOME. The whole event was top shelf. I have no reference point but was very happy with the total experience. Already booked the next one for six weeks out. Couple of things that would have made the experience more beneficial for novices like myself....talk to me...tell me what you re putting on my face and what you are doing. Just a quick explanation...not a narrative. Also, should have asked you for a rolled towel to put under my neck for support. Got the microderm facial off of Groupon and left feeling very fresh, my face looks and feels really nice!

In one word: Unprofessional. I was desperate for a microderm facial. Despite the negative reviews, I saw the deal on groupon and instead of buying the groupon, booked directly with the business for the groupon price (this is a great alternative if you want to avoid buyer's remorse with groupon's terrible return policy). The facial started 10 minutes late, which was annoying because I rushed over to be there on time. However, I was able to get a great facial, though the microderm part of the facial was very minimal--it ended up being a very light exfoliation. She only goes over your whole face with the microderm tool once, and doesn't go over problem areas again, which my regular person does. However, it was still a great facial and I would recommend this service without hesitation. What prompted this review was when I went back a few days later for a "signature" massage (also at the groupon rate). I arrived on time, and it turns out the person before me was late because she got lost, so the provider, Jason, was running late. No problem at all, I waited 10 minutes for him to finish up, change the linens, and be escorted into the room. When we started the massage there was no conversation about where might be problem areas or what the massage was going to entail (turns out there's a hot stone portion which i would have opted out of). That's ok, I'm used to Chinese tui na places that are very bare bones. He used a little more pressure than I was comfortable with, that's ok too as I just told him to go lighter. What was unforgivable in my book is that he ended MY massage 10 minutes early (e.g., I got a 50 minute massage though I was schedule for 60) even though I was on time--it was the person in front of me who was late and delayed his day. In addition, it looks like they schedule their people back to back, which means they don't schedule in any time to wait for tardiness, people to change, change the linens, clean the room, etc. That means that starting late is not uncommon and eventually they will shortcut you on time, even if the person ahead of you was not late. The front desk person called me because i left without signing my credit card slip. This too was ridiculous because she didn't ask me to wait for the credit card slip, she just asked if I wanted a receipt and said bye. When I told her on the phone that I had a bad experience because I was shorted on time, she said ok and hung up. No attempt to apologize or convey to the provider that it was not ok to do that. All in all, I think their service can be improved in a lot of ways, but at the management level, not necessarily because of the quality of the services. read more

I had read from a comment on a post about facials (website was xoJane, now defunct) saying that someone had a great facial in the south bay area. Another comment asked where, and the response was at Calla. I filed this away in my memory bank, and that led to my appointment. I booked for a combination facial and ended up getting an LED facial at the groupon price since I was a new client, and Truc did a great job. She was able to extract a deep comedone that the previous two estheticians at other establishments skipped. It wasn't visible but I could feel it every time I washed my face and it really bothered me. My skin looks and feels great and I will definitely be back. read more

The service itself was fine; aesthetician very professional and I scheduled my next appointment. I was called the day before the service that the aesthetician was not available and that someone else was going to do the service. Ok, fine. Then, the day of my appointment (2 hours before the appointment), I got a call telling me that the new aesthetician wasn't available! The people from the business/school upstairs were kind enough to offer me a waiting place while they tried to call the owner of this place multiple times. 25 minutes later - no response. I went home (sans facial). Followed up with the owner the next day - she mentioned there was a mixup in the appointment times (which is very interesting because she called me 2 days before to confirm). I asked her if we could reschedule ..... umm not so much - nothing for an evening appointment till two weeks out. While I understand mistakes happen, some sort of consideration would be great. No receptionist around front door was wide open stayed for 10 min left a note on computer. After reaching someone days later made an appointment went in. I purchased a photo facial and they gave me a microdermabrasion. I didn't know how they were going to go about preparing my face since I've never got the photo facial but once the wand came out I already knew. This is a long overdue review for Truc. I came here as a first time client and Truc acknowledged my problematic skin. She did above and beyond what I paid and asked for. She paid attention to my individual blemishes and even used a UV light to kill the bacteria on my skin and my acne went away the next day and my pores were squeaky clean. If I still lived in San Jose I would be a regular :-) I have yet to find a place that does microdermabrasions as well as Truc did for me. read more

In fact, Lilian always exceeds my expectations and has become a great friend who I share my life events and discuss life decisions with. She's so much more than an aesthetician to me. I was escorted to a private room as soon as I arrived to get started and the girl explained the process and everything she was doing throughout the facial even asking me if I was ok and comfortable. She included massaging my neck and shoulders as well. My skin was glowing and looked fantastic after. My only complaint is I had to wait 2 weeks for an available appt when I called in to book. read more

Noticed there were not any recent reviews, not sure why. Purchased a groupon gift of dermabrasion at Calla for my daughter; she has had dermabrasion before through our dermatology specialist. The provider she saw at Calla did not introduce herself so I cannot relay who she saw, but apparently she was nice. She was informed that Calla's dermabrasion procedure could only be partially done on her face, and another procedure was done on her forehead. I did not see any difference to her skin when she came home, it wasn't even pink, which is not typical after dermabrasion. The worst part of the experience she relayed, was that the entire salon reeked heavily of cigarettes which made her feel sick. Immediately after getting home, she had to clean and air out her car, then immediately take yet another shower, wash her ashtray smelling hair, and she had to wash all of her good clothes and sweater because her whole body and hair, along with everything she was wearing, stunk horribly like a filthy ashtray. Seriously pissed off about this, and the poor experience at this salon. This was not what I experienced there a year ago, and this is not what anyone should have to endure at a "spa", where you expect the environment to feel and smell clean, and healthy, not come out smelling like you've been in a cigarette fest and have to clean yourself up afterward! HORRIBLE! We won't be back! With pricing in the range they have it, they better clean up their act. read more
