If you pay with credit card, At Calimax Playas get ready to be charged several times. When you insert your card it is declined, But the charge goes directly to your bank. Today I tried to pay twice with the same card . It was declined twice. So paid with cash. When I got home I checked my bank , AND YES the double charge was there. Mind you I had already paid in cash the third time. When I went back to the store to complain I was told it was my bank' fault, it was the system fault, bla,bla, bla One of them commented" it happened to me several times" We ended with "we can't do anything, talk to your bank" The two people who had such poor attitude were management. This Calimax is centrally located in Playas de Tijuana. 5 minute walk, 1 minute drive from the beach. At times during the day they have limited amounts of cold beer. Some of the staff at the checkouts have bad attitudes. That being said, they'll meet your grocery needs for a short or long term stay in Playas. read more

This is my go to in playas, Tijuana. That said if you want anything American,be prepared to pay thru the nose.That goes for everything from dog food,at home 12 miles away it's 75 cents a can,here 40 pesos, depends on the day but that 120 +, charcoal 145 Pesos,6-700 per bag,home it 2bags for 7.00,they have no premade salads,bc Lord knows if they did they'd be 70 pesos each and that works to almost 360+,bit you want fresh meat They got you. Remember prices are for the military, so at home hamburger is kinda expensive to,but here's lil less,and you get what you needed don't have space to be buying big ass boxes of stuff or bags of toliet paper,buy over in US bring half the bag it'll Fitbit not much more,so while it's still the place to be,stay outta of Costco bigger not better here. Beware of this place. Last week I went to this store as I have done in the past. I was with my family and the store has a variety of food and produce. However if you have a vehicle the parking lot is not safe. You are being watched. While we went inside the store I noticed I was being followed. I know because because I saw a female following me through the isles of the store on her phone. When I went to check out I noticed that the same female edited the store without buying anything and was met by three adult males. When I went to my vehicle the rear passenger window was smashed out. All luggage was stolen. We lost everything. Yes, the store has great reviews and I saw a security guard at the front entrance outside monitoring the parking lot but it amazed me that he was no where to be found when we got to our car. To top it off we were parked about 500 feet from the store entrance. To end I was informed by my family that store has at least four break ins a day. My suggestion go during the day. But who knows all I can say is be aware of your surroundings.. read more
