Too old and crabby and also EXPENSIVE!!! Jacket sleeve adjustment (called first, said he can do- when i got there said he couldn't). After yelling at him for saying one thing and denying he said it- changed his mind and said, he could ...lol. Wishy WASHY Arse..... cool, peace... had 5 tank tops that needed two 5 inch slits and single stitch to hem them closed per, wanted $30 each...??? Literally 5 min job on each...i was gonna pay it, He say my car and my phone number and made comment: He was Hatin :/ c'mon Basayan...and i waited over 40minutes for him to come back to his shop??? He told me to pick up my jeans in 3 business days. I waited 4. I show up and my jeans are sitting in the same place they I left them, on the counter. He hadn't even started on them. Not only that but he charges a lot. Don't recommend. read more

Ordered a suit from this rude man by the name of Romeo even after he insulted me in his native Bisayan language (which I understood fluently) for bringing him a suit I bought on Amazon that was supposedly the wrong size that he couldn't tailor. After insulting me in front of his Filipino customers for about 15 minutes he persuades me into buying a cheap made in China Vinci suit that he highly recommended in his catalog. I foolishly agree and purchase the suit. He even forgets to write down my name and phone number after the purchase. So I call him to write down this information so that he knows this type of important stuff. That Monday Romeo tells me the suit would be ready whenever on Friday "anytime". Well, I come in Friday around "anytime" and he tells me it's not ready. He calls me a couple days later to try on the suit to customize it, after a quick fitting he tells me to come in the next day at around "anytime" where it would be ready. I call him the next day to make sure he's there and he tells me it's finally ready. When I arrive to come try out the suit he's got the Open sign on the front door with the electric fans and lights running in the building. However, the doors are locked but nobody's home. This guy should really put his actual business hours instead of having people guesstimate his hours of operation. I don't know how this guy still gets five stars for this type of unprofessional service. read more

Reasonable price and quick service. Hemmed my suit in a day while others wouldn't couldn't. He does come off as a little "abrasive" over the phone as other's have mentioned, but he is of an older generation after all. read more

I called to get a quote and the man answering was very rude and unprofessional. When asked what his hours were, he said he didn't know, that it depended how lazy he felt to open the shop.... he also asked why I asked so many questions. He also was demanding that I come in at certain times as if he gets to tell me what I should do... I don't understand how he gets business with such an attitude. Totally turned me off and I would not recommend anyone to try his services. I forsee awful situations arising when dealing with a man with this mindset. read more

My son is getting married and I'm not one for wearing suits. So needles to say, I went to Dillard's here in Stockton and spent about 500 on an off the rack suit. I liked the material it was made from, but the pants were nowhere near fitting me right. Alfredo who works there in the suit department referred me to Romeo. The shop is in the downtown area where people used to shop. When I walked in, the shop looked old and a little crowded with suits. These are the type of stores I remember going to with my grandfather when I was young. So it almost felt comfortable being in there. I do have to admit, as I was getting measured, felt some nerves. I didn't notice him writing anything down. The nerves got a little worse as he told me the pants would have to be fully cut to make them fit right. Kind of scary for me. If they were messed up somehow, I wouldn't be able to return it. So I'd be out 500 dollars. I returned a week later. Tried on the pants and, PERFECT! The only thing he didn't have ready was the bottom length. He took a quick measurement and did it while I waited. Ten minutes and out the door. Gonna take a couple of other shirts to him later this week. Super satisfied with his work. This is old Stockton right here. read more

I miss bringing my clothes here for alterations. We stopped about 2 years ago when we moved. It is just too out of the way and in downtown Stockton. I would drive around the block a couple of times to find a parking space just to have my clothes altered here. The prices are crazy cheap and the pick up time is ridiculously quick. The changing room was sketchy though. A skimpy curtain covering a tiny area barely big enough for my big belly and double chin. Sometimes I felt like just changing in the store front. I mean really... what's there to see that you haven't seen on someone else? The guy that does the alterations (would he be a seamster?), I can't remember his name, is the nicest. Was referred here from my best friend/sis....and her family and friends have been coming to this tailor place for YEARS!....and she tells me that they're great! Mind you...she's ALL about customer service so of COURSE i had to take my clothes to this place for alterations. SHE WAS SOOOO RIGHT! I have been coming here ever since! I actually just took some pants over there this week! :) The prices are affordable....and from what I hear from many people, this place is not only well known but has TONS of regular customers...and THAT'S a good sign of a place you can trust! They are also quick and fast with the alterations....I got my clothes back on the same day and sometimes within a couple days....I love the customer service, as they are all nice! And, they're superfast with the alterations (dependent upon the complication of the alteration and also their workload of course with other customers garments)...and their quality of work is superb! Parking is on the street in downtown Stockton...and you would never know that this place is excellent given the building appearance and all. The changing room has changed since the last review of this place. There are swinging doors in the changing room, it is small...but good enough. And, their work is great and reputable...they have a great reputation....and from what I hear, the Filipino man (I don't remember his name...he does many of the alterations) makes his own unique suits and ties....I know someone who goes to this place to get suits done. After going to a couple different tailoring shops I came across California Tailorong Co. Romeo has over 25 years experience. Every button up shirt or pair of slacks I buy I take it to him to get it perfectly fitted to me. Everyone at work always asks me where I get my shirts. It's not the shirt, it's the fit. Tried to take this guy my slacks and jacket. We were having a language barrier so he started yelling at me and was so rude and disrespectful. I blamed it on the language barrier so I decided to drive in and speak to him personally. NOPE!!! He was just as rude in person, cocky, loud and just plain DISRESPECTFUL!!!! Hahahahaha I noticed people saying he didn't write nothing down for measurements but he did pin the spots and Romeo did an awesome job. Took my peacoat in to get it shorten. Romeo did a fantastic job! Price is a bit expensive ($30) but he did an A++++ job. I agreed because the coat is on sale anyway. The owner is rude as hell. Had some pants tapered and he doesn't even call me to tell me when the pants are done. I had to call him after a week and a half of waiting. When I go to pick up the pants he hands me the pants and asks for the money. Uhh...you're suppose to ask the customer to try them on first. The tapering was too narrow and ruined it. I chalked it up as a lost and will never go back. He's super rude and obnoxious. Never going there again, I don't see how he has good reviews, must be biased since the first thing he asked was "are you Filipino?"...No i'm not, plus I'm a young guy so his attitude was as if I wouldn't be a worthy and loyal customer for future services. Dropped off my suit pants Monday around lunch time to get the length shortened and waist taken in. Told him I would need it by Friday at noon. He calls me the next day around 11am and says my suit is ready for pick up. Less than a 24 hour turnaround! Cost me $24. Definitely recommend getting your clothes tailored here read more

Romeo did a great job. Wanted to get my charcoal suit updated, a little bit more of a modern tailored cut. He knew exactly what I wanted and made it happen for the coat and the pants. He was quick and no nonsense. Prices are very fair (comparing to the SF bay area. Similar job on a previous suit was $70) Was under $50 for the whole job.
