After meeting with landscapers and even using an online yard design service, we met with Eli of EVMC. I told him we wanted a lawn and a pathway around it. Other than that we didn't have any other ideas. Thank God he did. He had some great ideas but we had to go with the one that fit our budget. I must say we were impressed with his eye for yard design. He and his crew are hard workers, on time, and leave the area clean after they leave for the day. We appreciated that. I love looking at the backyard now. Here's a before and after.

He made great recommendations. He Took my husbands contact info and said he would send An estimate on Friday. That was 3 weeks ago. Haven't heard from him since. I'm very disappointed. He had some great ideas. I would understand if the job is too big or too small, just tell the customer that and not lead them on. Very unprofessional. In Response to owner's reply. My husband and I moved to the Hollister area about a year ago, and ever since, we've been eager to transform our backyard, which was just a patch of dirt when we arrived. As a first-time homeowner, I felt completely overwhelmed and unsure where to begin, especially when it came to choosing the right contractor. After getting some neighborhood recommendations for New Leaf, we decided to reach out. (Just to note, we had already reached out to several local contractors, but none gave us the confidence to move forward. We always had lingering doubts--whether it was about pricing, professionalism, or trustworthiness.) Javier, the owner, quickly arranged an in-person visit to check out our yard. He shared timelines, and pricing possibilities with us. He also collaborates with a landscape designer, Charlene Brum (www.brumlandscape.design.com). Working with Charlene was such a smooth and stress-free experience (everything I needed!). She created CAD plans to scale, which really eased my worries, confusion and all the unknown. Charlene was incredibly patient, clear in her communication, and so friendly. It honestly felt like talking to a friend who was just as excited as I was to help with my yard. Once the work started, there was no stopping the team! Javier has a fantastic crew that works hard and cohesively. Fernando, who led our project onsite, was very respectful and always took the time to make sure I understood his answers whenever I had questions. It was also heartwarming to see Fernando and crew mentoring a young adult on the team, teaching him about the trade and safety. My husband and I were consistently impressed with the daily progress, especially since some of my neighbors had shared less-than-ideal experiences with their own yard projects. I'm so relieved to say that our experience was nothing like that--ours was smooth! After about three weeks of hard work, the crew finished, and we absolutely love our new backyard and are excited to add our future shed and dog area. Our German Shepherd loves the evolved space too! Thank you, Javier, for delivering such great work and quality!

My pour was 1670 square feet with 33 cubic yards 1697 that had a fair amount of complexity in terms of drainage and curbs and levels. The set up took 3 days including grading, forming and rebar with a crew of eight. I also added my neighbors smaller driveway that enlarged the project by 450 sq ft and took our pour up to 42 cu yds. On the pour day we had 14 finishers who did a quality job, and on the following day they returned to finish removing forms and did an excellent cleaning up removing all construction debris. This is a top quality second generation family company. I found the entire team to be easy to deal with, friendly, very professional and conscientious in their work. I now have them on my list of those i will choose to deal with in future. This is a top quality company that keeps its promises and works well with the customer. A+ in my book. Such a waste of time. Our project was delayed by Gregory for at least 2 months. We got referred by a friend who clearly got overcharged but that's another story. Reached out to Gregory and he came out the same week to look at our backyard. Everything seemed nice and smooth. Seems like a friendly dude. He came over one more time two weeks later as we had to update our drawing. Then he said he'll give us a quote. Sure. Sounds all legit. Three weeks later, after multiple unanswered emails, calls, texts, he dropped off the quote in paper and drove off. We reviewed the quote and had a few questions on line items that were not actually applicable to our job. He showed up again 2 weeks later and apologized saying those should not be in there, and it's his fault and he'll update the quote and come back to us. Great attitude, we thought. And little did we know that was the last time we saw him. A few more weeks went by and we got a little worried as we didn't hear anything from him. It has been over 2 months since we gave him the updated drawing and he originally promised an early June start date. We didn't want to be rude, but didn't like being in the dark either. So after a bunch of voicemails, he finally called us back. Very aggressively on the phone, he claimed that he won't be able to take our job until late July, which would push our project back by 2 months. He also started this weird ranting about how busy he is and he can't do it. We were like, I guess it's fine, maybe we can wait for you? He then admitted he got a big gig somewhere. That's when we realized how stupid for us to wait patiently for him trusting he runs a decent business, but he didn't respect our time at all. He rudely interrupted us multiple times when we were trying to figure out a timeline and simply said 'just go with someone else' and hung up. We were shocked to say the least. Never, I repeat, NEVER have I experienced anyone running a business so rudely to a customer. The action item was on him to update the quote but I guess he decided $30k is not worth his while. Very dishonest business. He could have just said I'm sorry I can't take your job any more cuz I got a big job somewhere else but I can give you a referral. Nope. He's probably the least Aloha person I met since I moved here. Can't decide which is more accurate to describe this behavior - Aggressive, unresponsive, irresponsible, or lying? Well, good luck with the new gig and with an attitude like this, you should not be in this business.
