CAOL and JC came up with the most reasonable quote for the job…read more The job involved excavating soil, connecting the gutter to the house drain but the installation required removal of pavers around the front yard. They completed the work in less than a day which included pressure washing and filling the spaces between the pavers using filling polymer sand. We are extremely happy with the results. The job was completed satisfactorily.

My wife and I have a new-build that required additional landscaping of our backyard. We eventually decided to go with California Outdoor Living after reading all their positive reviews on yelp. In addition their quote was very competitive if not the best when looking at other contractors. We already had a design in mind for JC which made the process very quick. Although there was some misunderstanding with the design and drains throughout the process, JC was always responsive with his texts and quick to make adjustments. The moment we got our design approved by our HOA, the construction happened VERY FAST. We emailed California Outdoor living on a Wednesday evening of our approval. The very next day (Thursday), JC arrived to go over the outline. I do appreciate how fast things were done, but it was almost to a fault at times. They were ready to go by the next day but my wife and I didn't feel like we had discussed the plan and execution thoroughly enough. On Friday the construction workers were already digging out our backyard. They spoke only Spanish so communication was very difficult to ensure if our plan was executed appropriately. By Saturday all of the pavers were laid out. Construction was incredibly fast but because of that some details were lost in translation. We discussed with JC that we wanted an 11x14 ft paver island. However the final dimensions was 12.5 x 12.5 feet. We also wanted all the walls of our backyard to be lined with turf. However the paver border ran too close to one of the walls, that putting turf did not make sense. They only left 1 inch between the wall and the paver (see attached image). We appreciate how fast the work was done. The overall work was great BUT not exactly what we wanted. We felt rushed with the whole construction process. However everything was done in less than a week which was incredible! In addition, once the turf was laid out JC noted that window reflections from both our neighbors and our own windows would cause damage to the turf. He informed us this can happen sometimes. Going back to rushing things and not being thorough, we wished JC took the time to look at our backyard and factor in this possibility. If we had known the reflections could damage this area we would have changed our turf design. At the end of the day they are just executing our design, but it's these minor things that left us feeling like our backyard could have been better. However we are still very thrilled with the overall speed and communication done throughout the process! Would still recommend this company. But these small critiques are definitely something to keep in mind for future clients.

I went with Miguel because he had great reviews, the business is family owned, he's licensed and was a really nice guy. That being said... the communication could have been faster. This wasn't a big project, just repaving our cracked driveway but he, his son and crew did a great job and was so fast! They were prompt, very polite and cleaned up after themselves after each day. They explained what they were going to do that day and the next and how long I needed to keep clear before driving on it again. I'm very satisfied with Miguel's work and would recommend his business to others.

The floors in the backyard were downright gross with mold and sand. We were however on a pretty tight time crunch with the new tenants scheduled to move in within the next 2 weeks. Originally we had contacted several places which included AM Masonry & Concrete. Right away we got a response from Amosa. After hearing about our strict timeline he was able to swing by the very next morning to take a look at what we needed done. Out of all the places we contacted, Amosa responded to us the fastest with the most detailed estimate . Other companies took much longer to get back to us. We didn't have to wait an entire day or more for a response. His responsiveness and punctuality was only a few reasons why we chose to go with him. From the get go he went above and beyond to make sure we had what we wanted . We ended up having him do a top cast finishing with diamond cuts control joints . He arrived on time every single day, left the work area clean each day , and even finished ahead of schedule. The new floors look absolutely amazing . We will definitely be contacting AM Masonry & Concrete in the future!

We did not have a concrete idea of what we wanted at first but Oscar was great with helping us plan by guiding us and asking about how we wanted to use our space. He also created documents to submit to our HOA for approval, and he was able to make changes quickly when needed. Victor and the crew were on time, efficient, and timely with the work. It was greatly appreciated that everything was washed down and cleaned by the crew at the end of each day. They were also able to make quick adjustments when our neighbor had some concerns with the hedges we wanted to plant. The scope of the work included adding a concrete pad, extending our concrete patio, planting privacy hedges with drainage and auto watering system, installing artificial grass with paver walkways, and adding pebbles along the exterior wall of our house. Since we have a soft watering system, we also had them install a separate line from the main. Overall, Caliscapes OC was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We even had one of the hedge plants not doing well. We reached out to Caliscapes OC to advise us on how to revive it, and they said they would replace it. We had a good experience and would recommend!

Tony's bid was fair and he had good availability. Tony and his team showed up promptly each morning and stayed consistently until the job was complete. They never skipped a day to work elsewhere or left early "to finish up" somewhere else. The number of days initially quoted for the job was also spot-on. Tony and crew cleaned up each day before leaving and were a pleasure to work with! We love the outcome and highly recommend!!
