This clinic is contracted with Dentical, which is the Medical of California. There's a lot of patients , waiting time can be brutal. It is the only Clinic within 15 miles radius that takes Dentical. Quality is good to excellent. They have doctors who do quality control, so no bad quality work is done here. All equipment is brand new. The doctors here are experienced. Decoration is pleasant: blue coloring on the walls. Parking is easy. They want to expand because I have so many patients but space is limited. If you are a cash patient, this is the cheapest decent Dental office: $250$ bone graft Night guard around $450, crown around $1100, ..... it's half the price of anywhere else in Monterey peninsula. Molar around $1100, cannot beat this price: it's the Costco of dentistry. They have been working on improving the waiting time, with mixed results... hopefully they get there soon. Dental care and scheduling improved a little bit since last year. They're trying to commit to the schedule... finally. One would wonder why such a place would be sitting in business with two stars review and the answer is very simple because every crown and the root canal done is quality controlled by the company and by identical itself. They deliver the best quality crowns and root canals. They deliver partial dentures that are acrylic and not metal. The staff cleaned the place every day. They have an extension clinic in Marina. Absolutely horrible. Please take note on how many times they cancel your appointments. I have had it with this place. I been rescheduled 4 times already dating from early may until last week when they decided to cancel me for the 4th time for November. I gave a negative review about this place before for the front desk clerks that act like they don't want to be there, very unprofessional. I always wonder if that's why they continue to cancel on me with the same excuses that the "doctor is out of town". I highly recommend going somewhere else. You'll notice as soon as you walk in that it's not welcoming. Like as if there is so much fatigue going on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS PLACE. Both my kids had a scheduled appointment. I was texted and emailed a "Yes/No attendance reminder" which I replied "Yes". I was called a day before the appointment, and the dental office left a message saying our dentist will not be available and to please call back and reschedule. Since I received that message, it has been almost 2 weeks, with multiple calls, and several messages left by me, and still no reply from the office. We had a confirmation text the first time, showing the date and time, which they confirmed was real, but said that they didn't have us on the schedule for the day. DO NOT GO HERE. I relate to many of the reviews here. My first few experiences were excellent, but something has drastically changed. I go to schedule an appointment for a filling and a crown after receiving a temporary filling elsewhere, and I've been waiting 2 months for a pre auth. Thought it may be an insurance thing, but come to find others have had the same issue. I call again today to check up (again), and they tell me 'oh! you don't need a pre auth for a filling, also you have no filling on your treatment plan, just the crown' ...and that I did not need a filling at all. Confused, I ask my specialist who again tells me 'you NEED a permanent filling'. All that to say, this location does not know what they are doing. I am more saddened that other patients will go through this too. Please go somewhere else. CaliDental - please read your reviews and fix what is so obviously broken. read more

If you are medi-cal person, most likely you have to wait 1 to 2 mos(6wks)(it was told to me by the office) until insurance clears most procedures. They prefer no English speakers, wait time is 2 hrs w/o appointment, with 1 hr or 45 minute wait. I am an English speaker, they need more Calidental offices. So more people they can take and do more procedures. Jack O'Lantern teeth don't get hired. Care: courteous, kind, quick Type of care: fillings, build up for crown and teeth exam. I finally can smile, normally avoided photos for 2 years. I do believe I need fillings to be done on the remainder teeth. I have request to know about dentures? (Edited) because grammar and information. Update: These people told me that they don't need second insurance and Medi-cal pays for everything, I hate to say this and be frank about it if they tell you that get in recording and put in writing because they wanted to use crappy second insurance Physician's Mutual which was just squirrelly behavior, You have to wait 6-12 months to see dentist to get real benefits and Best bet is Medi-cal aka Alliance insurance. (was called up by crazy ppl who left threatening messages, those ppl don't have to deal with my problems.) Other places wanted me to pay 2K each time, and that insurance screwed me. Medi-cal is supposed to pay everything, yet we informed them we had a second one just in case things fell through. Physician mutual commercial says you're not going to pay bill, it only for ppl higher premiums what some insurance person told us. Medi-cal won't help me, even some cases. If they say they will, they only help other ppl. Best insurance recommend for ppl would Spirit dental. Look it up. Don't go to insurance jingle one, you get screwed. I noted it cover ppl better. I was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic and called at 12:10 PM (my appointment was at 1:00 PM) to let them know I was running late. No one answered so I left a voicemail. I called again later multiple times, in fact including at 1:07 PM when I knew my ETA was 1:21 and still got no response. I left more messages just trying to communicate what was going on. When I arrived, the front desk girl just said, "You're past your appointment time, you need to reschedule," and kept repeating it like I hadn't even tried to reach out. I calmly explained that I did call and leave several voicemails, but it didn't matter she acted like I hadn't done anything at all. I even called the office while standing inside and watched their phone go unanswered proving exactly what I'd been saying. She then said I needed to call the direct number which I did, and showed but nothing. What frustrates me most is that they've canceled on me in the past and I've been understanding. Yet when I hit unexpected traffic and actually tried to communicate, they couldn't even pick up the phone or call me back after all the voice messages I left or let alone be understanding. The worst place ever. I have not had any bad experience with scheduling my appointments before. This place cancelled on me 4 times. I am really disappointed. I was schedule one time when I took time off at work only to find out that my appointment was canceled on spot, the same day. Today is Friday and they are cancelling my Monday appointment again. I have been waiting for the appointment just to go get the X-Rays and check up done for months now. Also, my son had an exam with one of the dentists there who told me that my son had 10 cavities. I doubted and took him to another dentist who said that my son has only 5 teeth that have cavities. Horrible place! read more

I had my appointment booked for months in advance. They had rescheduled my previous appointment, so I had already been waiting for a very long time to be seen. They called me on a Saturday to cancel my appointment (again) because the provider wasn't going to be available on the day of my appointment (which was scheduled for that Monday), and asked me to call back and reschedule. I couldn't call back because the office was closed on Saturday. I had already taken the day off work in order to accommodate the appointment. And because they only notified me 2 days in advance (on Saturday), I still had to miss out on work on Monday for nothing. I've heard this has happened to other people as well, but I didn't believe it until it happened to me. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

This place is TERRIBLE if not one of the WORST office in the county! For My first apt the dentist canceled on me and I had to wait an additional month. Once they finally saw me I was showed up at 1:45 pm for 2 pm appointment. I wasn't seen until 2:55 pm. And when I asked the office staff why it had been 45 min already and I still haven't been seen they told me that I was being dramatic and that the dentist wasn't that behind. 10 min after they brought me back and had me sit there for another 20 min and he came looked at my teeth for less then 5 min and sent me along my way. I didn't leave until 3:30pm. This made me lose out on making money and finishing my work day. The care is terrible and the dr's does not care about their patients.every single apt since has been canceled due to the dentist leaving the country!!! ( Rolling in that medical payment but yet you treat the patients terrible & like a transaction) fast forward to today an appointment that they didn't cancel on me. Okay cool GREAT! My previous apt in a town over was running late and I spent over an hour calling the office direct line and left voicemails letting them know that I'll be a little late but I am currently on my way. I show up and they told me that they would have to reschedule because I didn't call them directly. So I told the front office manger (I think her name is daisy.) that I did and left voicemails and proceeded to call her out for how she treated me last time and she didn't even have an apology or wouldn't even look me in the eyes because she knew she was in the wrong. They have an unprofessional environment and the Dentist act like the whole wild revolves around them and their constant vacations and being late. Funny how they can make me wait over an hour and cut corners on my care but the second I'm more then 5 min late they need to reschedule. The dentist should have his license taken away and the staff could use some training. Again DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSSINESS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER WHO DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU. The lady at the front desk is so rude and snappy I cant believe I spoke to her manager about getting my son in for an emergency and her manager agreed with a same day appointment and her manager apologized about how rude the lady was at the front desk. The manager called me and said sorry come in today at 4pm and we can take your son as soon as my son showed up the same rude lady at the front desk said nope we cant take him. Dr. Kim, Selena (front office), Daisy, seemed very efficient when I visited last Nov/Dec. I have been lagging on posting a great review for them and I'm glad I did. The service level plummeted since my last visit. I was told someone would contact me once auth was received for next steps in my treatment plan and almost 8 months later, nada. I contacted the clinic twice to check the status and each time I called, the girl answering the phone seemed confused. I left two messages for a return call from the MA, nada. I really liked Dr. Kim but unfortunately there needs to be better communication and improved workflows. I scheduled appts for my husband and 3 of my children as new patients but we had to find another dentist in an office that is more operationally organized. read more

Do not trust this place. They don't have a main desk number and everything gets routed to a very confused central call center. They're completely overbooked (10 chairs there??). Nothing is organized or scheduled, it's just whoever is available will do the next patient. Service was supposed to be covered by insurance but they surprised me with a $200+ bill at the end. When questioned about the itemized billing, it magically decreased by said I still owe money for a basic cleaning. Insurance "covered 50-100%" and we can't tell you ahead of time which amount it'll be. read more

My daughter has been waiting with pain since mid December it's now mid February they gave me this appointment. I live in Greenfield. I missed work to bring her here. They ask me to confirm my phone number so I gave it to them, they had one number wrong. And they try saying I wrote it wrong, I had them print it for me, in my writing and they couldn't do it because it's a lie that's on them. I called a week prior to coming in here and they gave me the same date. I'm livid right now my baby's been in pain now they're telling me I can come in tomorrow. I work 6 days a week!!!!!!!!! Where do I start... This place was okay when I started coming when they first opened. My exam went well and the hygienist did an awesome cleaning. Once it came time to start on my dental work everybody was clueless about my plan, even the Doctor! I ended up losing the whole tooth that they put a crown on, I have tons of pain on another tooth that they did a root canal on (several months ago) and I still have pain along with a hole where they did a filling (several months ago). Also the place was clean when I first started coming here and these photos show how things are kept now days. Look at that sink! WOW!! I forgot to mention that at my most recent appointment the dental assistant started taking X-rays before she put the apron/shield on me and when I said something she was like "oh I'm sorry." Also when I arrived to this recent appointment they failed to tell me that my Doctor (Tran) was no longer working there and that a "experienced" dental assistant would do my filling. After waiting in the lobby for an hour and a half to be called back and then almost a hour in the back chair, I left without anything being done. Sad to say that this place is worse than Western Dental. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

I don't understand this place. They advertise one day emergency service ( I was a customer) when I called with a horrible painful toothache they couldn't get me in for 6 weeks. Because they have my paid for X-rays I didn't want to go else where. So I agreed to the six week appointment ( reluctantly) on the morning of my appointment at my arrival they informed me they needed to reschedule my appointment for 2 more days, I had no choice but to find another dentist. And I ended up loosing that tooth. What I learned is cheapest isn't better and . You get what you pay for. One star only because their hygienist is a nice person read more
