After getting some ridiculous estimates for dash cam installation (seriously, like more than twice the price of the dash cam system itself), I decided to go with Johnny at Calibred because - 1) he's mobile, 2) he has numerous positive reviews specifically for dash cam installation and 3) his estimate was more than fair. After messaging, Johnny came out to my work to install my dash cam. I was told from the previous shops I received estimates from that the work would take about 4 hours. Johnny told me he would have it done in about an hour. I was incredibly skeptical. However, roughly 1 hour later, he messaged back and let me know that everything was completed. Sure enough, he had installed the dash cam, had it powered up and working and even was able to explain a little bit about how it operated. The installation is perfect. I see absolutely no unsightly wires. In fact, it took me a bit to find where he had actually installed the external battery because it was so well hidden. I've had the dash cam for a few days now, and everything has worked as it should - recording initiated when it should, the external battery is functioning perfectly and parking mode, which was one of the main reasons I bought the dash cam that I bought, has worked flawlessly. I have no idea why anybody would go to a shop to wait multiple hours and spend way too much money when an option like Calibred exists. Highly recommended. read more

5 years ago, Johnny did a magnificent job installing dash cams on our 2 vehicles. Years later, one of the camera housings got fogged up because air made it through that tiny gap created by the wire. Johnny was super accommodating. Basically found at time that worked for both of us and then installed a trunk kick sensor on our new Tesla Model 3 while I was upstairs back at work. Texted me when he was done, tested it and everything looked good so we shook hands and parted. Only later did I find out the pieces I gave him to install had an issue (100% part problem not installation) and he was so helpful troubleshooting over message and even came by another day to see if he could figure out a fix and he did! Bought the hannshow auto frunk for my Tesla and attempted to install with a buddy. Absolutely couldn't get frunk closed properly for the life of us. Wasted 6 hours troubleshooting!!!Ended up removing. Messaged Johnny on Yelp and he was able to come out in the next two days to fix the issue. An hour and some change later on the day he came over, my auto frunk is nice and flush and working properly. My buddy and I would not have figured out how Johnny did it for quite some time as we were diagnosing the issue incorrectly. Should have just went with these guys from the beginning. He activated all the previously inoperable speakers and seamlessly installed the sun/amp I bought from Hansshow Auto parts. So Hansshow was a bit of a nightmare and took forever to arrive but Johnny held my hand through the entire process and even reached out to them on my behalf. He was available at all hours to text and keep me updated on process. On day of install he arrived on time and the install took exactly as long as he said it would. 5/24/19 install of 2 channel mirror cam in both of our model x's Johnny arrived on time for my 12pm appointment. Initially, only my car was going to get a 2 channel installed since my husband wanted to keep the rear cam in cabin to keep an eye on our girls. However, after seeing the end results, he decided to also have it done. I had a thin version of the "cord hider" on my windshield glass so he wasn't sure if he could hide the wiring in the same casing with my cam. I guess he normally installs blackvues so this was his first time doing a mirror cam. Luckily, he was able to nicely hide it and provide a clean look. He sourced the powder under the Driver's foot well. At the end of my install, the mirror cam wasn't working and we had to wait until my husband got home for more 411. It turns out the voltage on the cam was lower so the cam wouldn't even turn on. My husband tried to let him know that's why he kept his plugged into the cigarette lighter due to this issue. He assured my husband he has been doing this for a while and he can do a work around. Not sure how he did it but he was able to do a quick fix and viola, the mirror came started working. It was a beautiful job and I am so glad I didn't further attempt the electrical myself. My husband got his done as well and Johnny was able to route the power the same way to save us a cigarette lighter port to be freed for use. It took about 2 hours each (4hours total) and despite the warm weather in the garage, he still worked with a smile on his face. I really tried to offer him lunch but he kept on declining it. All he accepted was a water and ice. Before he departed, my husband asked for him to center his rear cam positioning which he did without problems. Payment method had some kinks but we were able to work it out. He accepts Venmo and check payments. No credit card as the fees were really high and he would have to pass it onto is consumers. Johnny is very professional and we both are very happy with the end results. It's super hard finding someone who knows Tesla's so he is definitely someone I would highly recommend for neatness, efficiency, knowledge and professionalism.
