I highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a skilled massage practitioner. There are times…read morewhen my body really calls out for help, and when I hear the call, Laura is who I contact. I have received a good number of sessions from Laura over the past two years and I keep coming back to her. To begin with she has a great office space. When I step in the door I notice something shifts in me. I start to relax, and my body, which can get wound up from too much time in front of a computer, starts to unwind. Laura has a warm and healing presence that is a balm for my stress. Her touch is highly attuned and intuitive. While I often ask for a good amount of work on my shoulders and neck, where I carry the most tension, Laura is good at tracking that tension deeper and working the essence of my tension pattern. The way she works helps me to feel myself more deeply and the amazing thing is that after seeing her the tension doesn't have a place to hold onto for an extended period. This means that I can engage in my work without tensing up, and I notice how this really helps me to experience more creativity and focus in my life. Laura's massage skills are a real gift that go beyond just helping me to feel better. I'm grateful that I found her!

Amanda's demeanor is warm and endearing. Her office / massage studio is in a convenient location and is an inviting and relaxing space. She's respectful of silence during sessions but has also proven to be a compassionate listener and a friendly conversation partner. She's extremely attentive to feedback of all kinds, including feedback that I didn't even realize I was giving. The slightest twitch, shrug, gesture or sigh is fluently interpreted into an ever-adapting massage experience. During my last session I asked Amanda what kinds of feedback she receives during massage. Without exaggeration, I can honestly say that what followed was easily the most mellifluous prose I've ever heard describing the empathetic interpretation of body language. She's truly gifted. I've mostly asked for relaxation/swedish style massage but have also received excellent massages for sore muscles/achy back/shoulder/neck. If you're looking for a comforting massage for relaxation or muscle aches, this is the place to go. I'm sure she's probably great with other modalities as well, but these are the only ones I can speak to. I almost didn't want to write this review because all of you other Yelpers might take up my future appointment slots, but ultimately decided that this is a small business I couldn't help but support. No need to look elsewhere. Just book an appointment.

You can make an appointment through online or with her personally. Since I have a health card, I just paid online and scheduled an appointment with her after. The price vary from $80-$100, depends what kind of massage you request. What I needed was deep tissue massage for my back and each session lasted for an hour. The atmosphere is quite lovely and calm, which help you to relax a lot. I like Flo cause she's very attentive. She actually pay attention to what you say and understand your needs. Every movement she does, she will educated you to help you understand better what it does for you. After several sessions with her, I can see a big difference with my back. Of course the pain didn't go away instantly but because of all the sessions, I can feel my back is getting better and stronger. So overall, I'd recommend her if you need someone who knows what they're doing and passionate at what they do. Thank you for all the amazing work Flo.

In addition to traditional deep tissue, she also does Fascial Stretch Therapy, which was developed for the US Olympic team and involves a combination of deep stretching and massage. I leave each session much looser and flexible. Flo helps open up your posture and releases so much tension. Now that I've seen Flo for multiple sessions, the progress builds upon each previous session - the chronic pain and tightness that I've lived with for years has improved dramatically. It's also worth saying that she's so pleasant and thoughtful to work with, and she takes the time every session to ask about how you're feeling and what you want to focus on. If you have chronic muscle pain, Flo is a "must see."

It's such a relaxing and wonderful experience. Jenn's been performing massage at Moonshadow for 13 years, and I can see why - the little studio in the back of the salon is such a sweet space.
