This place is an absolute mess. Dropped off a brand new Tesla for a minor fix damaged by my neighbor. Got a call from the advisor Leo (Leonel) that car is ready to be picked up. During pick up i realized they added additional damage to my car. Due to improper buffing they now have ruined my entire paint.Now there are permanent marks left on the car. They added a dent to the driver side of the car and did not take responsibility for it therefore i had to file a complaint through BAR And eventually sue them in small court. They added 3 different additional damages such as scuff marks. Worst thing that happened was that i get a call from the manager (Forgot her name) and after explaining the situation and my frustration. She tried to turn the table and lied that i have disrespected her. I will be taking her to the court and have her listen to the recorded phone call. My car was in an accident when a car ran a red light. The damage to my car was mostly to the front end, but pretty extensive. I called around at a few Tesla approved body shops, and all of them were booked many weeks out. I was also told that it would be 3-4 weeks for Tesla parts to arrive, and the damage to my car required a LOT of parts. After collecting info and looking at reviews, I decided to choose Caliber Collision on De La Cruz in San Jose to do the repair on my Tesla. I have used Caliber Collision in Mountain View previously, and they had been fantastic. When I got to Caliber Collision on De La Cruz, I noticed that all the cars in the lot were Teslas! Leo, my service advisor, told me that my car would likely take about 5 weeks to repair, based on all the parts that needed to be ordered. Upon further examination of my car, they would be able to provide the estimate to me and my insurance company, and tell me how long to fix it. Everything was seamless and Caliber worked with my insurance company, while providing frequent updates on the progress of my car. I was very pleasantly surprised that they finished more than a week earlier than the stated completion date. I paid my deductible (which hopefully my insurance company will get back for me), and picked up my car. I was told there's a lifetime guarantee on the repairs! Yes, four weeks is a long time - but the delay is in getting Tesla parts and takes that long everwhere. Caliber did such a great job on my car, and I'm very happy! My car looks almost brand new again! It's super clean, inside and out and it even smells new! My tesla model s got taken out by a giant tree limb that fell on it in the middle of the night. Front, top, and rear glass needed replacing, the hood, trunk, and a side panel where all dented, and every body panel, save two, were heavily scratched up. They were meticulous, and while that meant the car was in the shop for awhile, I can't argue with the results. I don't know how, but honestly, it looks better than the day I bought it. Even the best body work occasionally has slight imperfections that you can only see in reflections in bright sun, their work had absolutely none. Other details, like the trunk latch, works better now than when I originally got the car. Or the frunk's carpeted insert, that I could never get to sit right after replacing the 12v battery, they also fixed. No charge, didn't even mention they'd done it. Hell, it even has that "new car" smell again (how did you do that, potpourri?). As I said. Meticulous Texted me every couple of days with status updates. Super friendly staff. They had forgotten to put the trunk's little cover back in, and they drove all the way out to my house to drop it off within an hour of me getting home. I've had and seen body work from other places. I had to take in my tesla for repairs because someone hit the passenger side door. Although the repairs were minor it still had to be done and the insurance of the person who hit me was covering it. I'm writing this review to say what a positive experience I had. John handled my repair and he was a pleasure to work with. I got the appointment late of February but they called me in January when a slot opened up. I got my car back in 3 weeks and the service was outstanding. After I took my car home and after 2 days I noticed that one part of the bumper was missing. Since my car is jet black it went unnoticed. I called John right away and he asked me to bring in the car. Eric and his team took care of us at every step. The estimate was clearly stated and easy for my insurance company to understand. While my car was in their shop, Eric gave me email updates so I knew what was happening and when my car would be ready. Everyone at the De La Cruz location is friendly and professional. It has been a pleasure working with this team at Caliber Collision. While not part of the repair, I have two small indentations on the passenger side of my car. Eric said since the paint was not chipped it may be possible to massage the dents out from the underside. He said his dent guy would on site later that day and he could get an estimate for the work.
