We had a few repair shops to chose from when my wife's van was hit by someone. We looked at some…read moreratings, and picked Gerber. They made her van look new again, and we didn't have to pay, but the pricing was reasonable. The pricing was good enough that I feel they are missing out on a lot of jobs. When I designed kitchens for a living, I would give the client a few different designs, so they could pick what they wanted. Gerber should have giving me a few more estimates for scratch removal, and clear coat because they do exemplary craftsmanship. I want the entire van done now. I'll go to them to get an estimate, but they could toss out a few prices, and many of us would be all in.

They probably do an excellent job on their repairs, but we never got that far. Worst experience…read moreever! Our Kia Sportage was hit from behind and damaged the driver's side rear quarter panel. State Farm recommended Gerber Collision. We take it to Gerber in Racine, WI and then the fun begins. The first estimate was approved by State Farm, which for some reason prompted Gerber to send in another estimate. The second estimate was approved, but for some reason, so they say, Gerber never got word from State Farm. After a couple of weeks of not hearing anything, I call Gerber to find out what is going on with the car, and find out they are waiting for an appproval from State Farm on their estimate. Really! You are just sitting there and waiting for an answer! So, I do all the leg work and call State Farm and have them call Gerber so we can get something going. Fine, so I thought. Once again Gerber sends in another estimate, a little higher this time of course, and we start this charade all over again. Finally after 4 estimates and 4 weeks of not hearing anything, and nothing done on the car, State Farm says the estimate is to high and they will have to call it a total loss. So, we now have to look for another car, and Gerber never fixed anything. It was almost like they didn't want the business. Fine, they will never see us again.

This older gentleman came out to look at the van and gave me a hand written quote to fix it, but not much detail. I wasn't sure what to think as the other place had given me a detailed quote, but for $1200 more! The establishment itself is a little run down, but the guy has been doing auto body work for 50 years, so I figured he probably knows what it will cost to repair it without detailing it out. Honestly, my biggest concern was if he could see the paint color and blend it correctly at his age. :) Well, he's got people to help out with that. Anyway, they banged out that dent and smoothed it out and painted the whole side of my van for the quoted amount and not a penny more. He was true to his word that he could do the job and was very confident I wouldn't have any problems with it. Honestly, I was shocked when I saw it. It was perfect. Not a single flaw. Mom and Pop Shops may not have all the bells and whistles, but it's hard to argue with perfection. I would highly recommend this business.

i was looking for an honest car shop. i thought a/c auto was it after junior called out work…read moreanother car shop did not do properly on my veichle. however, they charged me for it. i appreciate that greatly. so i truly thought i made the right choice bringing my vehicle to them. i initially came in for new tires, however, i wanted junior to check the work a prior shop did. unfortunately, turns out a/c auto mechanics that worked on my vehicle created additional problems with my truck as well after i spent $5000 with them in cash. they kept adding things on that "supposedly " need to be did. when i took my truck to them my baby was running very smoothly with no sound or shaking. no check engine light was on or thermostat issues, nor was my truck doing the "harlem shake". that evening after getting off work all these things happened simultaneously. after spending the amount of money i did, this was the last thing anyone look to happen. i took my truck back to him the following day disappointed of the mechanics work. junior stated the rack and pinion was a big job, he'll re- check it. junior told me not to worry he'll fix the problem. after rechecking my truck he stated the rack and pinion was now done correctly and it should be fine going forward. at least this is what i was hoping. 3 days later the check engine light came back on and my vehichle started shaking again. only this time after returning to the shop he says it's a cylinder 5 misfire. i just had my emmisions test did prior to bringing a/c auto my truck. i showed junior my pass emmission test i took right before his mechanics started working on my truck. i reminded junior these problems was the very reason i brought my vehicle back to their shop after they've supposedly repaired it the 1st time. i told junior to put his self in my shoes. knowing he paid to have work did just for this to be the experience. he shook his head saying his mechanics did nothing wrong with my truck. his mechanics also broke my water pump while doing the rack and pinion. junior had the nerve to say they put another water pump on free of charge. later admitting they broke it and put "a good used water pump" in place of the one they broke. ugh!! so many things occurred that never should have. i'm not accusing junior personally, if he wasn't the one working on my vehicle. however, i do know his mechanics are very dishonest. if he's aware of it, after defending them the way he did. then he's just as big of a crook as his mechanics are. #where #are #the #honest #mechanics
