I recently had a mechanical issue after an alternator was replaced the tension belt was incorrect. This service was not performed at Durand Automotive. I took my SUV to this shop and agreed to the inspection fee which I thought was pricey. I was offered services that I felt were suspect however, I thought it couldn't hurt. I received an invoice of $5933.98. Recommended was power steering service $179.30. Coolant service $210.95 which I know wasn't really needed because I had it done in April 2025, but agreed nonetheless. Remove and replace suspension strut front $1480.21. Remove and replace rear struts $1654.43. Remove and replace suspension control arm $818.35. Alignment $169.63. Tie rod $418.50. I was later contacted and told one of the axles was broken. I was told I could replace one but opted to replace both fearing the other would follow suit sooner rather than later for a cost of $559.52. The worker said they would not charge labor if I purchased the parts. I was also given a $150 customer appreciation discount. My underbody is pretty rusted I get it, and it's not the cost, I anticipated that. My issue is they have had my vehicle a week. I received calls stating that we will try to have it ready tomorrow twice. Guess what... still not ready. This time spills over into the weekend. I left work early today because they said we will try to have it ready today 11/24/25. I peep through the window and the vehicle is elevated with minimal work done. I suspect other vehicles were being fixed while mine just sat. I communicated this to the worker he denied it. Now I'm super upset and ready to blow. You cannot tell me that since 11/18/25 and now it's 11/24/25 this vehicle is so difficult it's still is not repaired. Minimal work has been done in a week and still my car sits. I'm afraid the service will not be good based on reviews. I see this place appears to be better at emissions. This message is to the owner as I see you respond to these reviews please get your workers on the job, I need my vehicle. I put them On notice that I'm Off tomorrow and I expect to see results. It's Just ridiculous the length of time. If they could not handle the work load they should not have accepted the job. I had high hopes for this being my go to shop but not after this extended wait and minimal work. BTW I was shown what was accomplished and I was not impressed. I feel disrespected and taken advantaged of because of my initial patience but no more. Look for me tomorrow. I will do a follow up to this review.
