Semi-Slimey business tactics. I called first to explain that my issue was with a loose bumper cover on a 2012 Camry. I let them know that it was my Sister's *14 year old car* and that she would be paying for it without an insurance claim. I love Toyota vehicles but it seems like a lot of them have bumpers that are a bit low underneath and are easily damaged by parking curbs if you're not real careful. After 14 years it has been caught a few times. When it happens, the bumper cover pulls on the mounting clips and often tears. I clearly explained that we were not interested in paying enough to bring the car up to factory brand new standards as it wouldn't be worth spending a huge amount on a 14 year old car. I let Aaron know on the phone that we were hoping to spend around $500 or $600. ( I'm not really faulting Aaron. He's actually the reason I called Caliber. I had a good experience with him around a year ago and with a different car. I feel like to an extent, he was just doing his job. ( kind of like how a lot of car salespeople are trained to say "whatever you have to" to * get them in! * ) I drove 20 minutes to get there and waited another 20 minutes for the estimator to look at the car. We went out to the Camry and he started taking a look. At this point I was a little apprehensive after waiting in their very nice and very busy waiting area. I had started to get the feeling that this may not be a good match. I had spent the time on the phone telling Aaron *AND* reiterated to the estimator that we were not looking for a lifetime warranty phenomenal perfect like brand new car job because we didn't want to pay for that! As the fellow was checking it out I said "Like I said, let's not waste your time if this is going to be like $1200 or $1300 or such". He immediately stopped and said "it's going to be a lot more than that!" I got super irritated and told him what I thought about them wasting my time! I'll bet they do great work on paint and body but I don't feel like they are the right place unless insurance is paying for it. My complaint is not about their work or their facility at all, but rather the way they do business. I wish they would have explained to me on the phone that there was absolutely no chance of the cost being anywhere near $500 or $600. read more

I had a mixed experience with this Caliber Collision branch. It was recommended to me by my insurance company. The shop did repair my car, but they were sloppy with the work. There were loose and missing screws on different parts of my car. There's also a rattling noise now that I didn't have before. The staff also weren't the most communicative. They did get the job done, but I left with an unpleasant experience. It wasn't what I expected based on the other reviews I've seen here. I came into this place on 1/16 to get a quote, I made an appointment the day of and they took me in. Someone greeted me and took a few photos of my car and was told they would get back to me. This trip was about 10 minutes total I didn't get a call back so I called back a week later to get an update. The person who took the photos was out for the day and I was told I'd get a call the next day. No call the next day. It's 1/30 and I called one more time asking for an update on my quote. My representative wasn't there so I was told he would call me back. He did, and he proceeded to tell me that wawanesa never gave them my claim info.( it's through my uninsured motorist policy). He wouldn't have gotten it because they paid me out for a certain amount. He even asked if I was going to get it fixed.. cmon dude I want to get my car fixed. I brought it in on 1/16 wanting to get it fixed! I asked if he had an update on my quote and if he could give me a quote on those pictures he took, he said no. He heard from me that I had a wawanesa quote and he basically said he wasn't going to deviate from my wawanesa quote. I dont see how it matters if wawanesa gives me a quote or if I wanted to pay out of pocket (which is basically what I'm doing, 3500 UMPD) read more
